I was super impressed with the Origins Stridor when he was released. Very similar to the Classics Stridor - Origins has fantastic articulation and fun accessories. Which makes me even more excited to receive Night Stalker. Always been a big fan of Night Stalker- gold, black, and purple is a striking color scheme. Also so happy to see he is actually Gold!! 🙌
Yeah, I definitely agree with all your thoughts on the release of Stridor for the Origins. I was also really impressed with the redesign and articulation compared to the Vintage Horses. I'm excited to finally see Night Stalker come out with the gold colors and different stickers similar to the vintage Steed but much better now with the improvements. Another great review. Passed this one by as I've reached that point where I'm just taking it out the box, having a look at it, sticking it in a box with a load of other stuff I've no room for.

Aside from congrats on getting a Night Stalker to add to your collection regardless of your space issues. I'm also always fighting space and money trying to collect more figures and accessories.
I used to be one of those people who would also watch other reviews of something I had in box and left it mint on card because I felt I didn't miss out on anything as long as I owned that piece in box! So I know what you mean!👍
So excited to get this guy. I loved seeing Stridor/Fisto & Night Stalker/Jitsu team up again. I got the OG sets for Christmas one year. Thanks for another great review!

Thanks for checking out the review! Yeah, I know. Classics came with the newer head gear. You're correct about the vintage Night Stalker not having head gear after I thought about it for a while. It's been 40 years since I had the vintage Night Stalker. I have run into photos of the Vintage Night Stalker with purple head gear online. But it might have been custom or painted.
There was a Vintage Night Stalker with helmet. The France and Rotoplast Versions had it.
@GrandmasterC23 Thanks for checking out the review and adding that info about the helmet for Night Stalker. I didn't remember if my vintage Night Stalker had one on. I remember the Stridor helmet on the vintage, and the Classics Night Stalker came with them.
Brazilian, Venezuelan, and French versions all had the helmet.

Nice review bud! Both Jitsu and Fisto were included with some releases of Night Stalker & Stridor. You could buy the figure+ steed together or separate. The 2 figures were positioned to be the new big leads of that year for MOTU media, but that never actually happened... Still, the evidence of that plan by Mattel is shown with the 2-pack figure & steed releases that they made.

I only had and ever seen both Jitsu and Fisto from the regular cards and Stridor and Night Stalker from the regular release without any figures. I remember also seeing the JC ads with those figures set up in the Steeds. Maybe that was the advertisement for that set, which I never had. At any rate, all the kids in my neighborhood collected Motu and always put Jitsu and Fisto in those horses even though they didn't get the two packs, as you mentioned, were also sold with the combo. It think we also saw the Vintage commercials for Stridor and Night Stalker with those figures in them. That's why we also set our Steeds up with them at the time.
@@Themanchlid Great stuff! Yes we had Stridor and Fisto bought separate as kids, same with Night Stalker & Jitsu, but then got the Jitsu & Night Stalker in the 2-pack together as a gift from a relative one X-mas, so I had multiples of those 2 baddies growing up lol!
@christopherpara6183 Nice! Yeah, we never picked up the two packs as kids in my area. They weren't very popular in the stores after the single card release figures were already out first.

It was announced as a Mattel Creations exclusive only. Maybe places like BBTS might get some in hand later. And, of course, they will be on eBay for more money!
I have the vintage with the original stickers on it with a vintage Jitsu riding him. I’m torn whether or not to pick this guy up for my origins Jitsu…..decisions decisions😂. Another great video🎉🎉🎉
@M_of_the_U I remember having the Vintage Night Stalker as a kid. I always liked that steed over Stridor because of the dark colors. I think this Origins one is a much better design because of the newer articulation and accessories. Plus, it's a little bigger. Thanks for checking out this review 👍

A bit behind again as I had my own video I was editing that took a while to get to. I actually still haven’t picked up Night Stalker yet; I had a feeling it wasn’t as popular and wouldn’t sell out, also because it’s a bit more expensive than the basic figures (hence why this was the first Mattel Creations sale I skipped). Now that we have some more money, I’ll probably order it, although I need to save for Two Bad next month! Additionally, I don’t remember playing with Night Stalker nearly as much when I was a kid either as it wasn’t featured in the cartoon to my knowledge. I think even as a kid, I didn’t think it was all that different than Stridor outside of the colors. Same with Screeech being identical to Zoar. At least vintage Panthor had flocking that made it “different” enough than Battle Cat. So, for me, Night Stalker wasn’t a must-have. The only real reason for me to get it now is to be a completist…so I’ll probably get it sooner rather than later.
That being said, it looks better than I expected it to. Sort of a shame that Mattel indeed seems to gradually be phasing out the window box design; for MOC collectors, I would imagine this makes it harder to display NS next to Stridor. Sure, the artwork is fabulous, but now the box design doesn’t quite match. Plus, I noticed yours looked a bit beat up and dented. Come on, Mattel, get it together! 🤦🏻♂️

I wasn't sure how well this Mattel Creations Night Stalker steed would do as far as sales. I thought someone said online it sold out after several hours. But it's still available to purchase, as you know. I know many collectors who are mainly interested in getting more vintage inspired figures and vehicles to complete the collection would probably pick up this Night Stalker. But I think the cost and windowless package hurt that for certain people, and all you're really getting is another Stridor with different paint, stickers, and a neer base. So, it's something that would appeal to certain collectors for nastalgia or completing the vintage line, as you mentioned the reason you decided to pick it up.
I'm happy to see this piece added to the line going back to nastalgia for myself. I think the colors look much better compared to the SDCC prototype displayed last year.
I'm also hyped and trying to pull funds aside for the Cartoon Two Bad coming to Mattel Creations later in July!👍

Some how, even though I order right away, I never seem to get these MC releases quickly like so many do. Mine haven’t even shipped and I ordered immediately when they went live.
Yeah, that usually sounds like my story with Figures I ordered from the Mattel Creations sales, which always seems to take a week or two to get them once they ship. I also got on the site right away and checked out in a couple of minutes like other people did as well.

The Purple fits more of Fisto while the Red fits Jitsu
Yeah, those colors do fit the characters better that way. You can set them up however best for your collection! I'm used to the traditional setup!
Yeah mine hasn’t been shipped yet, I’m not sure how long it takes to ship international orders out. I think they should all be shipped out at the same time.

My address wasn't far from their warehouse on the shipping label, and I checked out in a couple of minutes during the sale. Maybe that's the reason for getting my item quickly.
Glad to see this come out. I gave up and custom painted/stickered mine years ago (with a custom Ram helmet similar to Panthor's). Would love to get that new base though!

Man, I dig it but that base doesn't match Snake Mountain for sh*t. Can the Collector be hooked to that base stand?
Thanks for checking out the review! Yeah, the base is much brighter than the front of Snake Mountain. The Collector can somewhat balance on that base. But it's not great! I tried the Stridor base, and that peg stand in my Collector ship review. It's the same peg stand as Stridor. The Wind Raider base mount works better.
Would you say more people collect origins mint on card or unboxed? Just wondering your thoughts? I like both if I can 🎉🎉🎉
@M_of_the_U I think more people collect the Origins mint on card if they have the space from all the comments I have read. Some people will also buy two to take one out of the card and keep the other on the card. I would say it's 50/50. It depends on people's budget, space, and habits, and if they post their figures for reviews or pictures on social media. The Origins have a lot of figures and vehicles that can be removed and put back in the card. But many of the regular glued cards are damaged, and one opened.

Hello. Thanks for checking out the review. Actually, many people didn't like the look of Night Stalker in the early photos because the gold vintage inspired tones were yellowish. But they corrected that look with the dark gold colors going back to the original Night Stalker. It's a hit or miss for some people because it's basically a Repaint of Stridor, as you mentioned. However, it does come with newer accessories and box art that is a little different.
It's so weird seeing it with so much articulation, I had the OG Stridor and it was just a statue
I know! When I first got the Origins Stridor, I couldn't believe the upgrades they did compared to the vintage Statue one like you mentioned! I'm glad to see you stop by already, man!👍

Thanks for checking out the review. Night Stalker is a Mattel creations exclusive deal. I think they might still be available. There is a possibility BBTS could get some in hand later. I have seen them get limited quantities of Exclusives before from Mattel. But they are usually more expensive! I think your best bet is getting one from Mattel Creations. Pending to cost and availability. It's not guaranteed BBTS or Amazon will get any.
Pictures at mattel creations show the figure with red blast effects. Could anyone confirm if it is a fact they didn't include the elblast effects with all the night stalkers?
Thanks for watching. What do you mean by elblast effects? All the Night Stalkers come with three red plug on Blast Effects as fas as I know.

@selvinguzman845 OK. It's possible that persons Night Stalker was missing those effects in the box because of issues at the factory. But for the part, they are supposed to be included and come with my figure as you seen.

Mine was stuck with tape or adhesive and was damaged. So I just pulled the whole inner card out, which I was gonna remove anyway.
Hello Manchild! We bought 3x (each for 1 Collector). God thanks that Mattel corrected the gold colors. Now its no Pee Stalker anymore like it was shown in their preview!
Which makes the Teela (Zoar Box) the worst pee-yellowfigure (which should be gold -> like Classics). (Also the Gold Parts of She-Ra got corrected in the "Fan Favourite" Version).

Hello again, iliasfog8857! Thanks for stopping in as always! I'm glad to hear you guys have three of these coming for the collectors, and you also like the final color designs. I remember you saying you're probably not gonna pick this Night Stalker up and just consider painting a Stridor, or it would be cheaper, too, because the SDCC images were he was Yellow in the gold areas. However, he looks really good in hand with the vintage inspired colors and stickers now. So I think it's worth the cost to pick him up to match the Origins Stridor. Plus, the newer accessories like the Snake Mountain stand, red plasma effects, two didn't helmets, and of course, the box art justifies buying a technical repaint steed.

@@Themanchlid Exactly if Night Stalker would have had this pee-yellow instead of gold i would'nt get one and would have made my own.
The Goldtone was significant important. Price is still sh*t!: for us it's 46 Euros (49,19 Dollar) per Night Stalker.
@iliasfog8857 Yeah, I totally understand your thoughts on that early sample at SDCC. I read a bunch of comments from various places that if Night Stalker comes out with the yellowish tones, then people aren't gonna buy him! I think Mattel got the message and made sure the colors were done correctly to match the vintage design somewhat!
@@Themanchlid I'm a little disappointed with Extendar! I got a vintage one (mint) for 4 Euros and the Origins Version is close, but The gold is caramell (chokolade). I get that the vintage one is painted and origins: the color is the plastic (hands). They did'nt archive the plastictone right, so they used a simular paint for the other "gold" parts.... or what do you think?
@iliasfog8857 I'm happy with the overall size and design of the Origins Extendar. But the Marbilize plastic finish and gold highlights do look on the cheaper side compared to the vintage figure from what I remember and, of course, took another look at online after I received mine. I don't hate it, but I think they should have used the darker gold colors on those parts similar to the vintage figure.

I don't know anyone special! I just got in line at Mattel Creations and checked out in a couple of minutes, and next thing it shipped out. Why did you cancel that Adam/Cringer set?
@@Themanchlid I didn't cancel my order. I got an initial notice that it shipped yesterday but about 8 hours ago, I got a notice that MC canceled and refunded my order. Then I check which one, and it was the two pack. 😪🥺😭
The tracking number still works though. I wonder if it's meant for Night Stalker? 🤔
@geffeternal741 Oh, ok! You have to see when you get your shipping confirmation and see what's in the shipment. Then you will know what item is canceled! I think Night Stalker sold out after several hours. The Adam pack was in stock, but it was also sold out, I think.
@@Themanchlid Mattel creations is a nightmare when it comes to shipping. The day after i order anything there, i need to make a customer support ticket, askiong them to release the shipment from warehouse.
Even then, i still have to wait 4 to 5 weeks before i get a shipping notification for night stalker, as Europe is usually the last place they ship to (it happend with every figure since the eternia debacle),
After those 4-5 weeks, the parcel has the status: awaiting pick up.
The pick up is by truck, it gets driven to either Chicago or New Jersey, waits there for a week before getting flown to California , then it goes on a flight to Europe.
The shipper EPG is just as incompetent as mattel warehouse.
Great review though! to bad about mattels lazy cashgrabs and lousy shipping issues. I realy wished they let BBTS handle all their (international) shipping.

It's just a repaint of Stridor with some new accessories, as I mentioned a few times in the review for people who are not familiar or never picked up one before.
Ma son hade a orange colored mechanikal dinosaur that hade a familiar head too bashasaurus the set hade a purple space suit knight with many weapon he was like the G.I.joe figs in scale frome the 80's think its atoy frome early 90's
