and most of their DM and Hardwired stuff have this potential. But compression and shitty audio engineers (or maybe Lars) ruined their sound. DM had some of the best riffs from the band I heard since AJFA and yet they managed to completely ruin it...
So basically one guy made an instrumental in AJFA style, another one added vocals to this, and then you created a '89 music video out of it. Holy shit that's the best chain reaction i've ever seen.
One word: BRILLIANT! You attention to detail was nothing short of extraordinary! It actually looked as if James was singing Moth; you got Lars drum accents like a pro, and Jason's banging just made me want to get up and mosh (and I am disabled!). Seriously, this was done with such precision and care - it even beats out a lot of televised 'Tallica concerts! Pat yourself of the back...this KILLED!

if the song sounded like this on the album, it would be untouchable. it shows the potential is there, it didn't take much to make it Justice like. As much as I dig the new album, it could have been on a new level if they would have tweaked it more like this.....
@@antoniusmetal even Load and Reload had a much thicker tone than the last two albums. It's really a shame. I mean, even if you don't want to sound to old school, then at least get it done like Exodus, Kreator or Testament....no classic sound anymore, but at least a thick crushing Guitar sound...
Man how did the old young James vocals came from? Not even James Hetfield of present can sing that he had in the past with that power and intensity...I mean how?
Salswkang Jamatia It takes practice. Alot of holding your breath while vocalizing, not breathing out your nose, with grit in your throat, and practice. I've sung like this for years. It's funny how James even helped my range when S&M came out, because I'd sing that entire concert over and over. Learned out to sing higher notes better while keeping my grit. Love this band.
James had little "grit" in the S&M days man... What are you talking about... He probably sang the cleanest in his entire career in that point. - I should know, I've listened to it a million times over as well.
Holy shit, I didn't expect it to be good for whatever reason, but man this is waaaaaay better than the original version. Man I'm just in love with this tone, this live, the rage, Jame's voice, and this Era...
That's absolutely incredible work man ! I am very impressed. Definitely will subscribe. Can you do more songs in Seattle89 style ? Thanks a lot for this masterpiece.
GuitarRazze did all the work here. Check his channel out. This guy did a nice job with the vocal but it's all about the sound of the guitar and GuitarRazze did a bunch of songs with the Justice sound.
It's a great song. So weird to consider how popular this song would have been if released back then. Or would people have said "wtf is this??" I don't think so! They just don't sound like they used to. Not their fault.
GovSchnitzel Not Kirk's fault. If anything its Lars, and somewhat James. Despite the fact that Lars is a good arranger and a great business man, he's pretty mediocre drummer who forgot how to use double bass and can barley keep up in 4/4 time and holds the band back musically. As for James, although he's still a badass guitar player, he can still sing like he did back in the day if not heavier with his voice if he wanted to (he does it in recent performances, but for some reason he just doesn't (it's as though he's afraid to sound heavy for some reason I don't know). Either way, I still like Metallica and the fact that they're still making music in general \m/
David Catanus well if we're gonna get into it, I would say that James's voice changing is the biggest detriment to their sound over time. There's just no comparison between what he sounds like now vs. his voice in the 80's. Not his "fault", he just can't do it anymore. Not sure why you believe he can. I have issues with his modern guitar tone too...somewhere along the way the harshness was removed, maybe to accommodate his voice.
GovSchnitzel look at bobby blitz, chuck Billy, zetro, Mille petrozza, Mark ossegueda, etc. and compare their voices of today to how they were in the 80s. Sure they don't sound exactly the same as they did back then due to age and that's the biggest detriment to their sound over the years like you said, but they can still pull it off. If they can do it, anyone can do it. I've heard James try doing it again in recent performances and he still has it, but he just hasn't practiced doing it for a while from the way he sounded, so overall, age isn't really an excuse. Oh ad I too can't stand their guitar tone these days. They need to turn down the mids and crank up the gain to get rid of that crappy sound
David Catanus voices changing isn't purely due to age...it's just something that happens, and it happens differently to different singers, simple as that. There are many factors here; some singers sing in such a way that their voices are more protected. Some experience change from different medical problems. James Hetfield blew out his voice in 1993 while singing "So What?" at a show, and had to go through all this therapy to do any singing at all again. That event is probably what made the biggest impact.
I consider myself an big Metallica fan but you my friend are a next level Metallica fan. Very nice editing must have taken you a lot of work. Realy cool video.
This is a thing that i was talking about for many many years. You have proved with this video that nothing changed at all as for metal music. If current metal songs were recorded with old fashion, tune and all these stuff there would be no difference between old and new albums. So that's why i still love modern albums of old bands. Greetings from Poland!
Man! You've improved upon your concept so much! This is miles further than your first videos. Amazing! Guitar tones, drum sounds, VOCALS, everything absolutely on point. Even the video editing. I don't know why, but I enjoyed this more than anything. Thanks for doing it! It totally sounds like a Metallica song from the 80's, which is a thrill! Cheers
One covers the instrumental parts, another one adds the vocals and yet another one puts the live sounds and the video with subtitles... The internet's amazing, it's the only place where such teamwork is possible between people who don't even know each other... Great work from everybody, you should really get in touch with one another and try more stuff together kkkkkkkk
Thanks. Its exactly how I feel now. That's why I added my vocals to GuitarRazze's instrumental track and was astonished to see that a live version was without my knowledge. It was a surprise. :)
This version is so much better than the original! It's crazy how different production makes such a difference what feeling you get when you hear it. Of course, most important is the voice that sounds like Jamez finally got his balls again.;) Respect!
The audio was taken from the "If Moth Into Flame was on ...And Justice For All" video from GuitarRazze user, i suposse the vocals were recorded from the same user who made this video
Spoodermen Produktionz no this aren't his vocals. He even commented on this video and gave us props. He has one similar though . And his video inspired this one
donangry I have never liked jason, and I don't understand why people says he fits so well with metallica, he doesn't sucks but he's on a lower level than metallica
Not really, they need what Jason brought to the band. Jason is capable of playing anything Rob has ever played or put onto a record, especially in Metallica. Rob isn't better in any way.
I would enjoyed more like this than nowadays, and it's not about the lyric and music, the version of ajfa or the real one, sounded so kickass, I think that the energy that Metallica putted on stage was so unique, the voice of James, Kirk running all along the stage and Lars playing at his best are the reasons that made everyone respect their jobs at that days
This is just amazing... Probably the best of "what if metallica..." Ive ever seen. I have nothing left to say. Just keep it up like this. Fucking aweasome....

I hope James see this video and hear how fucking great sounds this song with his old voice

same goes with kirk's wah pedal leg xD hahaha xD

Metallica never would have existed without Lars.
Further proves my theory, its not the music that sucks, its the over-production! This could've easily been a track off of Master or Justice.
I agree with you, still I think that even the original version is good
Yeah but then new album still has some decent production
Their new album should be "Kill em Master of Justice".
Anyone else read it as “Master of Justice” xD
