Arizona Trail Thru Hike • Ep 7 • Flagstaff to Grand Canyon

- The Arizona Trail AZT offered a steady string of stunning landscapes, at night the stars and Milky Way were amazing to observe, from the desert to high mountain ridges, the changes in vegetation from pinyon and juniper to manzanilla, cacti, and agave was spectacular.
2023 was a record year of snow in Arizona, some nights were very cold, it was a big challenge that made us physically and mentally exceed our limits.
A big thanks to all the trail angels for their generosity and kindness, they made me love this trail even more.
Depending on your pace, the AZT will require around six to eight weeks to complete, a total distance of around 800 miles.
I've started on March 6th to finish it on April 19th
The highlight of the AZT was the Grand Canyon, from the south to the north rim, it was overall one of the greatest experience I've done, an incredible hiking adventure.

Wow there are a ton of clips in this episode. That’s a lot of shooting, saving, tagging & editing. I appreciate the work. That part of our country is so beautiful. Need to get down there.
Thank you Ted, I appreciate the constructive comment! Very beautiful indeed, your drone would like to fly in these breathtaking landscapes!
Bravo Rudy pour tout, merci de nous faire voir, en plus, tu es vraiment courageux. 👏
Merci pour les mots d’encouragements, j’apprécie. Revivre cette aventure avec du recul et de la partager c’est vraiment plaisant.
Everyone should see this. This is special.
Thank you Scott, it makes my day to hear that.
Nice work! So much work and thoughtfulness goes into setting up these shots! Kudos!
Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to express that.
Thanks for reminding me why I make such an effort to live my summers here. Well done!
Thanks! It makes me so happy you feel that way. It’s such an incredibly beautiful place to be, you’re lucky but I never spent a summer there, I heard it was a bit hot 😜
You just keep getting better and better Rudy 😊
Thank you Jacky! I put a lot of thought into this, thank you for noticing.
You are really good at making videos. Deserve way more subs
It warms my heart to hear that, thanks.
You've made it clear that this is a spectacular trail to hike. What a journey. Really like the critter shots in this one. Haha, did you really just find a snowboard out there? 😄 Most amazing of all is that you hadn't even gotten to the Grand Canyon yet!
Thanks Seth, I always appreciate your taking the time to give your feedback.
That snowboard was a great surprise, a child must have lost it on the slope while going off-piste…it looked like a rental.
It’s a shame with such majestic places like the grand canyon, too grandiose and vast, that no camera does it justice, and also the fact that the drone was not allowed of course. You need you be there in person to understands how epic the GC is.
Tes vidéos sont vraiment superbes. Looking forward to seeing you out there mate ! That world isn't such a big place!
Merci Gab! The trail is also absolutely superb. I hope it will make you want to do it.
Where’d you go? I miss you so! Seems like it’s been forever… since we hiked together 🥲
Man, I missed a lot! Snake, reallll trail magic, a SNOWBOARD, those views. Kudos to you for going back, well deserved.
Might be the best vid yet. The shot sequences and soundtrack blend so smooooove. Psyched for the *grand* finale 🥁
Miss you too, I also feel like it's been ages since we've hiked together, I think I have a little post depression caused by too much high emotion, freedom etc, getting back to the routine wasn't easy.
I was committing to finish the whole trail and I had more time to film in this section which allowed to take more satisfactory shots.
No drone shots allowed in the Grand Canyon(restricted area) it won't be as grandiose.
You got a new tent!
Yeah sadly! My old zpack which has traveled more than 6800 km(4250miles) of trail, after several small repairs it was time to change it.
Great video, the editing is amazing, what are the animals we hear at 5:06, coyotes?
Thanks you, glad you liked it! Yes I believe it was coyotes, they sang for a good 10 min 😊
wow that campsite 4:33. ❤ do you remember at what mile it was at?
Yes, just right after Kelly Tank, Resupply Box & Junction mi 620.9, you walk up north for about 0.2 miles, fire pits included 😁
@@Ratatrail thank you!
