SMITE is similar to DoTA gameplay but instead of being above the action you are IN the action. Close third-person camera instead of RTS view. Move with WASD instead of clicking on a map. Detailed graphics and visual effects. ACTION combat, dodging, and aiming. Everything is a skill-shot. Free-to-Play but not pay-to-win.

In some stories, Fenrir was basically adopted by Tyr after loki was imprisoned. as he grew the gods began to fear his strength, thus leading to the tests. The Gods didnt tell Tyr that the last bond was unbreakable, so he sorta got screwed over as well as Fenrir.

I'm a league player.... but this game looks so much better!!!
It gets old a lot quicker to me at least, And even though all gods are different they feel the same in a lot of ways.
i've been playing for hours each day now, still having more fun than in league.
you must be a new league player.. at most you've only played for a year.

InMemoryOfJimmy Played League since season one here and i can confirm, once youe played every matchup, seen every teamfight possible and know every rotation possible, thzats when it gets old. If you find League boring you and are looking for a faster pace higher skill MoBa my recommendation would be Heroes of Newerth.

took me a LONG time figuring out how to get good at this god . . but now i think i got it.
I like how in Fenrir and Tyr's Lore section on the god reveal, it shows a left hand each time despite him having lost his right.
I'm a league of legends player, i played for 2 years, but Smite is so much better.
Their lore artists seem to have gotten it wrong. They show his left hand getting eaten when the game shows his right hand was eaten. Was i the only one who caught that or what?

I was playing ra and when THAT thing named Tyr came he was just playing football with me i couldnt get away with tier 3 sprint,3 stacks of passive(playing ra) and shoes of magi its funny that in romanian "tir" means a big truck and that thing just comes like a truck

Looks great, can't wait to try him out. Also couldn't help but notice in the lore segment that he was already missing his hand when he captured Fenrir, and then later it shows Fenrir biting off the wrong hand.

In the update notes is written that the mastery level on a god is shown for every player now on the loading screen, golden show also wins/kills/assists.

Týr is my favorite god from Norse mythology and it made me really happy to see him as one of the good gods of the Norse pantheon in the latest god of war game. Incidentally, my favorite creature from Norse mythology is Fenrir, which is fitting given his shared history with Týr.

Two different aspects of war.
Tyr = Just and fair combat
Ares = Brutal victory
They need to buff him. He hits 4 times instead 2 for his 1 and his one knocks up again in guard stance. Than he can stun people with his two and he heals for 420 health per enemy hit. And law ringer is a execution and the threshold is at 75%. Than he will be balanced once more.

Edwin Ramirez yea I keep getting recommend videos that are 4yrs old to. I thought this was a new skin at first... i was like wth odyssey just released one..then looked at the date.
Tyr was known as a god of war (along with Odin and Thor....the Norse where a very war driven people) but in the story where he lost his hand to Fenrir is is suggested that he was a lawful God that appealed to justice, oaths and honor (This is what made him a different god than just a clone of the others). These beliefs about him are from even before Norse mytho.

No they got the legend right Fenrir Devoured the Right hand in the ancient myth, the art in previous reveals may have been misleading. The actual myth did have fenrir devour the right hand. So the in game model is correct.
The fact that Riot have made some of their champs based of mythological figures (As Example: Wukong) makes it hard for HiRez-Studios to make the actual gods without "copying" the art design.
This game is getting better and better looking.

Tyr got his left hand eaten as shown in the lore "blanket going down" scene but its his right hand that is lost...
Why is it that so many people cannot pronounce this name correctly? the name is Týr. His name is where we get the day name Tuesdag. the "Y" with the accent is not pronounced "ee"... Týr is pronounced "tewr" or "Tew" depending on the dialect. sometimes the final "R" in Old Norse is silent.

Maybe it's because no one really does their research. They just assume, with typical arrogance, things are pronounced the way they think... it's not like the names of Norse deities would be in a different language..... like in Old Norse maybe ...

He's in it, friend. Check out Mercury. Hermes is the Greek name, Mercury is the Roman.
I would love to see some more Roman gods make an appearance in Smite, like Mars as a Bruiser/Tank Champion or Mercury as a Support Champion.
They forgot the more in depths story. Tyr and Fenrir are truly, my favorite Nordic mythological being.

That her Inspire skill now gives her and her allies a 20% movement speed for 6s is such a minor buff tho. She deserves something extra.

I'll be honest, I was hoping he'd be similar to jayce (melee and ranged stance).
At least that's what I thought when Erez originally said his hand was made into a cannon...it even looks like the concept is still on the model (the wolf head gauntlet)

Did anyone else notice that in the lore u see Fenrir eating a left hand but Tyr gave his right hand.
The gold skins are released in batches of about 3 per update- and there's about two updates a month, it seems. They're made pretty fast since they're all just recolors, anyways.
When I first saw him, I immediately thought he looked like a Space Marine captain, with a power sword. As much as I would want to see that, it probably won't happen...
I meant something akin to the visual rework on Ra rather than a gameplay change. Although we do need some urgent rebalancing. A god is either always picked or not picked at all because there are so many other gods who can do the same job better.

Glad to see "I am the law" is one of his jokes. I am a bit sad that "For great justice!" isn't somewhere in his dialogue.
Thank you. You hit the point I was going to make. I may not be the best player but I play alot of League and alot of Smite. There is almost nothing that feels the same. The engines couldn't be more different. Smite is changing their map all the time so there is no way possible that it is the same as LoL's map.
LoL isn't even the original, if we are going to be super technical about the history of moba's
Tyr feels like a more fleshed out and versatile version of Hercules
the ability when she's nice hel that heals allies also increases their speed
camera angle changes the whole game my friend. you cant see everything thats happening around you like you would in LoL you just see in front and a little of the sides.. so that makes it harder (or easier in some cases because you can see far ahead). plus the animation of spells can sometimes drastically reduce your visibility in key moments ..
I just noticed the reference in Tyr's Victory Screen Animation. THE F*CKMOTHERING TECHNOVIKING!
Glad to see Tyr, I've been looking forward to him joining the roster, swordlooks a little big and anime-ish though. In my mind he would look more heroic looking with a sword proportional to Freya's, something you could see a real warrior hefting rather than a 14 year old with crazy hair and big eyes.
Way to go actually getting some good UI design. Did you hire a new designer @smitegame?

Somewhat.... before the 'prophecy' that claimed Fenrir would one day kill Odin, Tyr was the only one brave enough to care for Fenrir and feed him, and still somewhat took care of him while he was bound in chains. If thats not a pet, I donno what is.
