You are a very talented lady, thank you for sharing all this with us. I love your resin and all the little bits that go with it, especially your dichro resin kit.
Fantastic I was wondering how to seal a double sided piece. Thank you so much for the instructions on this and all the projects. I saw this masculine bracelet in your extensive website gallery, thank you for demonstrating how to piece it together (don't get me wrong it is feminine as well) All the best, Tam
Hi Olga, sorry for the late reply. If this happens often to you, you might try sticking them together first, then doming. It may be the type of paper you're using so check out our Special Photo Papers if this is an issue. You can also mount curved pieces into bezels, if you have some that'll fit. I hope that helps :)
Hi Paige! I wouldn't use clear nail polish because it yellows quickly and can become brittle. I'd stick with a bit of resin, or Diamond Glaze, or Glossy Accents, or the like. Have fun!
LittleWindowsResin Thank you very much for the tutorial! I was looking for this technique for long time. However, my paper pieces bend inside a bit when they dry out, so it's hard to glue them together. Do you have an advise?
Hello Irene! I'm so glad you found little-windows..com We can ship anything you'd like to the Philippines, our shipping cost is primarily based on the weight of your package, so if you go to the website, add whatever you'd like to your cart, then enter your shipping address, a quote will be given for approval prior to payment. Thanks for asking, and have fun!
Our Little Windows Special Photo Papers (regular and clear), are great because they give you great photo detail, they bond really well to inkjet inks, and they're waterproof so you don't have to seal them before putting them in resin. You can find different packs and sizes at little-windows(dot)com :)
Hello again! Not if you print on one of our Special Photo Papers for Resin, which are waterproof and form a strong bond with inkjet inks. If you use any other photo paper then yes, pre-seal front, back and sides. Hope that helps :) - Fran
Hi ladyjarhead! If you use liquid resin between you'll need to make sure to clean up whatever squishes out the edges, and let it set up for 12 hours. I'm just not patient so I go for the double-sided adhesive with a sealant around the little white line at the edges. Can't wait to see what YOU make next :)
HI, just wondering how you use all your 15 ml resin with just the start up kit. You say to use it all but the kit only has enough for 3 molds and a plate for maybe 4 more. Please let me know if I have to wait and order more supplies. I don't want to waste the resin since its not that cheap to buy. Thanks Tammy
What I Like To Watch Hello Tammy, The Starter Kit includes enough resin to mix 3 of these 15ml batches, but one batch is 1 tablespoon, so it's a pretty efficient system. The mold included - if you fill all 3 cavities to the top - can use up the entire first 15ml batch. If you choose, you can make 3 castings filled about half-way, which is a nice depth for pendants, then use the rest for a few domed pieces, or fill the bezel that also comes in the Kit. With your first batch you should get the hang of how far the resin will go. Hope that helps :)
Hello Dedi Zeokr! If you mean the punches you'll find them here: www.little-windows.com/collections/paper-punches-2 They are custom sized to fit our Molds and Bezels, or can be used for the Doming Technique as demonstrated in this video. Thanks for asking :) - Fran
Nope, Double-Sided doming of the same piece will be fine you'll only need to seal that edge when you're attaching 2 pieces back to back to ensure no moisture gets between them. Thanks for asking Courtney!
Hi, I received the order from Little-Windows and I love everything! I look forward to ordering more supplies :) I have only one question: where can I find a book on resin? Something that explains everything for beginners (techniques, dos and don'ts etc.) I'm very passionate about starting a small resin jewelry business, but I'm overwhelmed with the lack of information (I found just a few books, but nothing very good). Thank you very much! P.S. I wish you wrote a book on Resin. You're the best teacher I found on UA-cam.
+Irina M Wow, thank you Irina! Do you have Exploring Resin Jewelry by Heidi Boyd? That's a good basic guide with clear step-outs and clean photography. You can use LW Brilliant Resin for all projects in that book. Hope that helps :)
Hello Shannon! Sorry for any confusion, our Photo Cropper is an online app you'll find just under our logo at little-windows.com. We have a free version you can try to see if you like it, which crops to 1" Medium Squares/Diamonds, to print on a 4x6" format. If you like how it works, you can purchase access to crop other shapes on either a 4x6" or 8-1/2 x 11" format. Have a look at this quick video to see how it works: www.little-windows.com/collections/photo-cropping-software Thanks for asking :) - Fran
Hello Nickolena! Our Brilliant Resin is designed for small projects like jewelry making and photo keepsakes, and the guide that comes with every order includes tips on avoiding and eliminating pesky bubbles. I hope that's of help :) www.little-windows.com/collections/brilliant-resin-2/products/resin-12-oz-set
Hi Andrea! You can dome both sides, or create 2 domed pieces and stick them back-to-back, or leave the back side un-resined, as these Special Photo Papers for Resin are waterproof and durable. If it's an item you're going to wear though, it's more comfortable to have resin on both sides :) Here's a newer tutorial that shows even more options: www.little-windows.com/blogs/project-center/movie-fan-photo-jewelry Let me know if you have any questions, have lots of fun creating! fran@little-windows.com
Hello Michelle! Thanks for the feedback, I always use Little Windows Brilliant Resin, which is the safest mix epoxy you'll find. Available at little-windows.com, have fun!
+Savannah Williams Hello Savannah, the products we use are exclusive to little-windows.com, sold directly to customers and are not available in craft stores. Phone ordering is available too, just call 818-248-6000 Have fun!
Hello Anita! Little Windows Brilliant Resin also takes 12 hours before you can handle it, and you may want to wait a bit longer if you plan to flip it to dome the backs, to make sure your doming tray fingers don't leave dents :)
Just tried your resin on a heart shaped photo project. I cut out the hearts instead of using your punches as they were shaped differently. The doming on front photo went well, but when I decided to dome in glitter for the backs...DISASTER! The glitter resin didn't stop at the edges and ran over to the front. So, now I have huge bumps of glitter resin to remove from the front clear photo side. What fine grit size sand paper could I use to remove those bumps? Then I'd need to re-dome in clear resin the photo side after bump removal. Thanks.
Monica Dockery Hello Monica, it pays to be conservative when doming. You can actually use a larger grit for removing the bumps, you could even start with a nail file, just make sure it's a bit damp so you don't have resin dust floating around - that can be irritating. Once you've sanded down the bump, you can use a finer grit to smooth it a bit, maybe 600 grit, but don't be too stressed, when you apply another coat of resin it should shine it up again. You may want to fine-sand a bit around the whole edge of the piece, to give it some tooth for the resin to grab, that way it won't be as likely to flow over. Another tip is to let the resin thicken up in your cup a bit longer. Hope that helps :)
Hello Angela! We used to sell that drill at little-windows.com, but the manufacturer has discontinued it. We now offer the easy, clean-drilling Spring Drill, which is less expensive and far easier to control. Have fun creating :)
Hey Kim! That's a great question. You can certainly print on both sides of our Double-Sided Photo Paper, but some people find it tricky to get them lined up perfectly, so this method is a bit easier on that count. Another pro to doing it this way is that you only need to mix up 1 batch of resin because you're doming both sides at the same time. This also means you can finish your pieces faster, as you only need wait for one set-up time. So the choice is yours. Thanks so much for asking, creative friend :) - Fran

It's common to get bubbles stuck underneath it, and even if you could see them, it's difficult to remove them. 2) The second reason is aesthetic, domed pieces are smooth and thin and rounded, kind of like a plastic pancake, while cast pieces are more chunky. and 3) When you're making something like a bracelet or charm that will be pressed into your arm as you rest, domed pieces are more comfortable. Hope that helps explain why we'd choose the Doming Technique for this project :)

Hello Tracey, you certainly could use the Doming Up technique, as you've suggested, but there are three reasons why you may not want to: 1) Working upside-down in a mold is tricky, especially when you add in a flat photo.
