    Flukemaster! I was bed fishing yesterday evening in a local Az canal. I was amazed how every 12 feet a bass was bedding. I lost a good 3 pounder due to bad hook set. Spent the next hour throwing all kinds of different baits. DANG BASS

    9:02 in. That is insane. I’ve never tried fishing before during the spawn but I’m excited. Would a truscend revenge plopper or a crankbait be a good lure to use?

      Just focus on the shallows bruh right by heavy cover near the shade. That is where they will spawn. Once the water warms into the low 60’s your golden.

    Hey try using a crank bait and alternate between speeding it by them and stopping the crank right on the nest. That's the best way to get them fired up

      Aaron Keller how deep are the beds you are fishing or do you mean a lipless?

    • @fishingva9946
      @fishingva9946 6 років тому

      Kevin Darst about 3 to 6 feet but if you can see the fish then you can get a crank bait for the depth

    Well he said never cast right over the bed. I defied those odds twice this week. It was just before daylight. I'm standing on the bank with my headlamp on on watch both fish. They are 3 feet in front of me. My my rod and all right over the bed. The first day I was able to get a male to bite. 3 lb. This morning I got a female to take on a different bed. She was 3.5 lb. The male took the yum dinger and the female took a Krackin Craw. Neither time did the fish get spooked. Maybe I'm just lucky. Sure is fun though.

      I'd try a frog and maybe the weedless Johnson Silver Minnow spoon with a twin tail trailer. You can also punch through the pads with a heavy bullet sinker and Texas rig craw or worm

    Im terrible pitching and flipping. I can never get any distance. Do you loosen the spool up completely and just thumb it????? Completely frustrates me hence I dont do it much or I just roll cast it but Id really like to get better at it. Gene...or anybody lol, can you give me some pointers????? Thanks in advance.

    • @Seenya59
      @Seenya59 6 років тому +2

      The Bopper I know it sounds cliche, but practice. Use a rod that is good for pitching/flipping and start with heavier lures. Stand in the back yard and just try to hit something. Don't try to throw the lure out, just lower and raise the rod tip. You'll get it. It took me forever but I finally got it.

    • @KevinDarst

    In those scientific data has proven that when you catch a bass off of a bed and she does not return. Even if she does return the bluegill that eating all the eggs anyway. That's not the place to fish

    I love what you do, your shows are great and educational, you even taught me, years ago, how to use a bait caster, but to see videos like this just puts my head down. I cannot believe any angler takes pride in “bed bass fishing”. Catching chillaxed fish, trying to spawn, in the clear shallow waters and talking about it like it’s so tactical. I mean.. ha ha you can see, literally SEE these fish from a distance. No lessons there 🤨. Let these awesome, AWESOME fish spawn in peace for our greedy future pleasures. If you really respect bass, you wouldn’t be “rippin lips” while they’re spawning. That’s just…. That’s just low. How would we like it if our wives were giving birth and some hyped up alien came and just ripped the shit out of her upper jaw, had a good chuckle, and left?🤔 I just don’t get it. If people are such great anglers, can’t they fish else where or just wait a couple weeks??? Nope, they have to rip lips on fish they can see in clear water while they relax there trying to spawn. Ha smh
    But hey, your other styles of fishing are very educational and strategic. I’m still a subscriber 😃👍
