My cat was abused in the past so she is pretty protective
@@void6758 we suspect mine was. She stayed under the couch for over a month after we got her from the shelter and only came out to use the box or eat. She let me hold her at the shelter but she was super sick so I think that had something to do with it :p other than that, she only tolerates it for a second or two and hates it. So in reality she's come a really really long way and I've just respected her hatred of being picked up and only do it in emergencies. I am happy with pets and snuggles. Just crazy how tolerant some cats are of things.

Honestly felt rehearsed and forced, and while animals are great, the random cuts seemed to play out as if he intentionally did it for up votes due to the fact there’s a cat. Didn’t feel wholesome at all imo.

Those "Breath of the Wild of Pokemon" rumors that have been floating around since like spring of 2017 were for real.
No they were not. Imagine if we had a game with the BOTW engine? Open world, weather system, biomes that effect play, cutting down trees, using shieka slate powers as a basis for HMS, where eating badges allow certain Pokémon to do certain field moves, climbing as rock climb, free form exploration that rewards you with enhanced exploration options. A trainer progression system with perks, stamina, stealth, various throwing styles for pokeballs, Pokémon running hiding and moving with lower hp reducing movement speed/erraticness as well as resistance to capture. Having to camp and feed Pokémon and treat wounds, a portable box that loses reception in dungeons/certain areas, being able to collect 0-12 badges before attempting victory road with navigation options depending on what badge HMs you have. Upgradable bag and gear. Pokémon being weakened, hurt by or straight up not usable in certain areas. Co-op areas where in one version you get a scuba suit and the other a high altitude pilot suit that use O2 tanks and give access to deep dive or high up areas with coop puzzles and dungeons. A companion system and a basic branching dialogue 🌲. Really recapture the sense of wonder and adventure or red and blue. Use blood moons as a way to spawn trail master Pokémon and raids. Imagine setting out get a badge cut a tree to cross a rapid river tree falls kakuna and beedrill horde the player because they ignored the kakuna and hive as decorative. Or using ember and boom the grassy field outside of town is on fire during and after the battle and a firefighter and blastoise appear to put it out. Theres even an armour in botw that is effectively waterfall. Seriously move the assets over, dial back the celshading filter work on outputting more NPC's on screen and rework lighting. Use secret bases as places to create a fob for long excursions. Use a 3 flag system that lets you plant flags in caves that are respawn points and quick travel points to easy up on wasting time for those quick sessions and allow for abruptly stopping play in portable. It'd be hard work but no harder than the current games. That is what I wanted, expected and what I believe is a true example of a home console Pokémon. And I forgot the photo challenges a la botw with a few on rails snap throwbacks like a mine cart of safari ride.

@@Ashamedofmypast I do agree with you you have you took some great ideas and found ways to work them into the pokemon universe. Though it would most definately be harder and more time consuming from a game design aspect botw was in development for five years as apposed to pokemon which in most cases was only a year or two max. As we've seen with the recent Nintendo Treehouse, they wont be including every pokemon in sword and shield and plan on continuing this trend going further in order to focus on the setting (and free up dev time so that us plebeians can battle with our fake animal friends without having to wait longer slowly triggering a time bomb of ignorance and hate ;) ) adding even a select few of these features would require remaking them from the ground up it's not simple copy paste the pokemon games engine is significantly more simple than botw and could even take longer than five years to build up an engine that could do these ideas and implement them effectively though this is purely from an actual development perspective I do love the ideas you came up with would be pretty dope to see B)
I'm just disappointed that it still looks like a 3ds game. I want the pokemon battle revolution/ Colosseum graphics/animation and switch can definitely do that

I seriously love how they are approaching this, they are changing it in ways that I think will genuinely improve the game. But it still seems like it is Pokemon which I love, it hasn't moved too far from its core.
moopdoog does gaming as long as we get strategic turned battles and lots of pokemon to battle and catch there’s not too much they can do to screw it up. Wild pokemon in the overworld, a great step in the right direction, catching Pokemon like in let’s go, that’s a step in the wrong direction. And although I think megaevolutions are way cooler, the dinamax is way better for the meta and it actually gives way more options unlike megaevolutions.
Overall this game looks like a whole lot of steps in the right direction, the legendaries are a bit underwhelming though.
I'm glad they didn't go too far from the main series. My biggest worry with open workd pokemon was that they would give in to the loud minority and just throw pokemon into a world with no story, when the story is my favorite part of the games.
@@emc246 hmm I'm not quite sure that would be the majority opinion. Most of the people I know don't play it for the story and on the emulators they even made it so U could skip the text quicker.
@@moopdoog Emulators allow a lot of things that will never be in the main games, and the people who use them usually do it because they are too lazy to actually buy the games. Why should the actual developers of Pokemon follow those?
While I understand that not everyone plays pokemon for the story, most at least agree that they don't have to completely remove the story to create a more open Pokemon game. We want balance, which is exactly what is happening in SWSH, and what I said I wanted in my previous reply.

Its_Elkku it seems to be Mega Evolution and Z-Moves tied together. This would make it amazing, because now *every* Pokémon would have the ability, making sure that each and every single one would not be singled out by the meta.
When I saw the direct, I saw the very similarity with Breath of the Wild design in the graphic. Like, the first things I though it was "The Great Hylia Bridge from BotW XD

@@_roy_1_me643 Yesterday, during the Nintendo Treehouse gameplay of Sword and Shield, Not only was it confirmed that both Mega Evolutions and Z-Moves aren't going to be in the game at all, but also the fact that you can only transfer Pokemon from Home to Sword and Shield if they're in the Galar Pokedex.

Lucas Lino I hope so. I’m not in the Pokémon fandom and I’ve not played since the third generation but I’m hyped for these upcoming games. The box art won’t make a difference to me buying it. But still, I hope just for the aesthetics that they will.

I didn’t like either legendary when they dropped but looking more closely (after watching the full trailer on repeat for hours) now I love them (even if they do look more like 2 of a legendary trio). Hope they’re both Steel/Fighting.
Also the box art image would look a lot better if they use the high res versions of the two (shown off seconds before on the trailer video) as they look more watercoloury and detailed

Mega is by far way cooler than the silly Z Moves(The Snorlax one was dope though). and this Dynamax thing, while interesting, isn't getting me hyped.
exactly! I thought it was weird they completely dropped mega evolutions (as it seems for this game) and replaced it with this dynamax or whatever thing.
They’re giving players more options in their games. Z-moves, Megaevolutions, and the giant Pokémon gimmick are here for that reason alone.
The Dynamax i think is gonna be better for Battling its gonna be alot more fair at least since its only 3 turns each and its any pokemon that can do it rather than having it excluse to certain pokemon so Dynamax is gonna be alot better in terms of battles and such buy Megas visual wise is cool

That's because Game Freak wanted to go back to their roots during Generation 5, so they added around 150 new pokémon with designs as simple as Generation 1 designs.

Because having things you can relate to is key to advertising. It's realistic feeling with a small twist.

I guess one thing I may be disappointed by in this is the lack of following Pokemon, they may be hiding it but yeah there were none in this, and then there were pretty trustable rumours that said you won't have following Pokemon. I guess they may have not managed to get them in? (Even tho the walking animations existed for gen1-7...)
Ah well, even tho that may disappoint me these new things could be exciting enough, damn it looks nice and really different!

I gotta say, you captured my thoughts exactly! From the underwhelming first trailer, to being blown away by the Direct as a whole, and even to the slight disappointment about the doggos and box arts. Definitely a 180 on my expectations, and overall I couldn't be happier.

There is probably much more to it than what they've shown. Wouldn't be surprised if there's much more multiplayer centric ideas
There are a lot of buildings in the Northern City that I'm hoping will host post-game activities. The Eastern building is similar to a gym, but much more decorated. It could be a Contest Hall.
There's also the Western building which could easily be this game's version of a Battle Frontier/Resort/Tower.

What strings are being pulled?
From what I can tell, there’s either the strings of “Yeah, I agree with the negative things you said, so I’ve no reason to be any more negative!”
Or, the ones “Everyone being negative is getting ignored because none of them have said anything worth listening to.”
(Case in point: Someone saying they hoped Sword and Shield were beta titles for the “true” Switch Pokémon game. Had a single thumbs up and no response. Shock.)

I heard that Scorbunny's final evolution is humanoid and will be pure "fighting", but I'm 80% sure that was a typo, but either way I'm already feeling a bit disappointed. I've been waiting for a bunny starter for years so I hope GameFreak doesn't ruin it for me
@@letsgetfluffy3138 yeah! I'm pretty sure that's what they meant, especially in the context of Scorbunny having fighting type moves but not being duel types
my read is that those red signals would be t1 or 2 raids, yellow for t3 and 4, and a silver signal will be for legendaries or mythicals.
also people would probably appear when they enter the stone hedge area . you will be randomly transported to a public lobby with 3 stangers or friends

Every Pokemon game has been open world? Linear. But still open. What are you talking about? This will be just as linear as before now the over world is just bigger
C_Force I know I mean the much more fully open game like the contrast of legend of Zelda Ocarina of time VS breath of the wild
I think the camera is only different for the wild zones it’s fixed for the rest of the game, I do hope im wrong though

The Wild Area in Sword/Shirt reminds me of hyrule field from OoT. But the world in Pokemon may be more like many hyrule fields toghether :D

Pokemon Necklace and Ring
For me, I pray the roaming Pokémon only appear in the Wild Area. Seeing them roam on the overworld is pretty sick, but I also love the idea of not knowing when you’ll come across a Pokémon. When you can see them across the overworld, you get to pick and choose when you want to battle, and which Pokémon you want to battle. I like the mystery of searching for a certain Pokémon on a route and that feeling of excitement when you recognize the Pokémon’s cry.
I want to see a mix of the two
That seems to be what it is which is fantastic! Best of both worlds!
I honestly think there should be a mix as far as encounters go. Sure we should definitely see some in the wild, but it's also nice to have that surprise as well, where you see something moving and then it jumps out at you and you don't know what to expect. If they could include a mix that would personally be amazing to me.
The “huge battle” are a differnt kind of mega evolutions that only last three turns
I'm assuming that outside the wild lands, it'll still be random encounters.

@@corrackisdead By the way I took it, there'd be the wild everywhere outside while also having grass and stuff there for wild battles, too, and if you go to a cave or forest it'd be wild there as well.

I'm getting both but, the Shield Wolf looks so awesome and colorful. I didn't expect the Shield Wolf to look cooler than the Sword Wolf. I will also choose Scorbunny in Sword and Sobble in Shield.

I actually do think you’ll be able to walk around the wild area together.
Now, what will make this good or disappointing, is how you can interact there. Can you battle your friends? Can you trade here? Can you give each other items maybe? Synchronized captures?
Everything in the trailer was cool exept for the giant Pokemon. I find them cringey tbh

The legendary pokemon look like beetleborgs, power rangers, transformers, etc
I'm mostly excited. The Galar region looks gorgeous. That flying/steel Pokemon looks cool. Dynamax could be interesting. I'm just a bit disappointed by the legendaries.

on the website it says if you don't have enough people support trainers will be added so I'm assuming you'll be able to play with your friend and 2 CPUs
