This actually highlights something important - that the best cameras for you might be a bit older. I'd love a roundup of older, amazing-even-today cameras!
I'm new to the camera market. Someone said I should get this camera. When I heard how old it was, I wasn't so sure...Now I think I am
Love my GH4’s. Perfect as my wife angles for weddings adapted to a sigma 30mm ex dc1.4. Only complaint is the auto focus and stabilization
I saw a GH4 going for $250 on the facebook marketplace. It'll still do DCI 4K recording. My gosh. Its so cheap now for a professional video camera. I'd buy it for b roll. Or to use it on trips, I might go to NYC this summer for a fitness race, I don't want to take my GH6 with me since its so expensive to replace if it goes missing. I'd leave that behind and use the GH4 for that.
The ribbon defect was a big problem. I would skip it. All these camera manufacturers seem to have bad quality control at this period. Hopefully my gh2 holds up. Martin Scorsese 's favorite look years later
Glad I kept my GH4
I actually have this camera. I was just looking at different lenses for it recently. Salute to you and D4Darius for what yall are doing with inspiring myself and many others who are walking in this path of filmmaking
You know I almost prefer the lack of HDR this sensor offers and with a speed booster you almost have yourself like a late 90’s early 2000’s vintage look. Love the shadows! Embrace the darkness 🥰
Hey, you use it like a real filmmaker. Amazing work!
I stille use my gh4!!!!
It’s clear you have an eye for composition and the gh4 did it’s part! Very nice…..
Thank you Allan for your wonderful channel. You have an incredible gift for explaining, mentoring, and showing kindness toward filmmakers. I am an actor (IMDb Randy Legend) and am beginning my journey behind the camera. That camera is a GH-4, so I am excited to see your take. I find your videos to be very detailed, yet accessible to beginning filmmakers and advanced indy filmmakers as well.
Wow, I've done my second film with this camera. But I always thought I had to get something new. Thanks to you, it will be one last time the GH4 for a triology!
Ive shot something like eight features with a trio of these. They are beasts.
That is stunning buddy - was it filmed internally? No matter - I have two of them and will be adding a third for a podcast studio I am setting up.......... I have a gh6 - but there is something special about the GH4........
Studio Sumizoon did a bunch of GH4 videos, there were also another Japanese UA-camr in Yokohama who made astonishing videos with the GH4 in the area, just cinematic city shots.
I would love this for my daily vlogging but I heard the autofocus is not very good and I need my videos to be in focus and not have a lot of blurry moments. Any of these same issues?
How is it for capturing sport like soccer or football?
i have used most of the sony and lumix mirrorless cameras. To be honest lumix cameras especially the GH and S1H series are truly for film makers/video makers, Sony A6xxx 7x series are for people who don't understand specs.
