For everyone saying ADAPTERS ADAPTERS ADAPTERS here’s the issue:
Many adapters create distortion and also can cause poor communication between the lens and camera. As someone who has experience with adapters they aren’t as great as they seem. Plus, it can knock your lens down half a stop and create major issues on the back focus which makes getting focus marks a pain.

I shot Lumix 4 years before switching to Sony and am still shocked at the price I found a GH4 set up a few months back.
Picked up a body with the 12-35mm f2.8 lens, a sennheiser ME66 and ew100 G3 wireless mic set up for $300 at an estate sale. Couldn’t say no to that for such a great camera.
Messing around with it compared to the FX3 and in certain scenarios it can get pretty close image wise with proper color grading

I’ve been shooting the GH4 w speed booster for 8 years now. Still very exceptional quality. I use canon glass

I was able to get one yesterday. For $250. The whole camera works. It pretty much shoots the same resolutions at my GH6 does, GH6 is the most current one Panasonic has on the GH line, GH6 has more features though. Was looking for a cheap B Roll cam, and I hit the lottery here and got it so cheap. This thing was $1800 when it came out. How bad that deprecated over time. Ouch.

My Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II is pretty close to the video quality of this but with phase-detect autofocus and in-body image stabilization. The price is pretty similar as well.
Unless you're planning to use that YAGH adapter to get 10-bit 4:2:2 output, I think the Olympus is the way to go because it's so much easier to get stable footage that is in focus.
Unlike the GH4, the E-M1 Mark II can shoot 4K using the full width of the sensor, which is great for image quality.

I just bought one through a local camera store that sells them used in very good condition. It's an upgrade to my GH2 which I am using for my channel.

Picked one up from Facebook market place with a lens for 250. The 4k 24p looks great from this camera especially for the nature stuff I like shooting. The vivid color profile looks great for nature.

I think for run and gun film making. The battery, unlimited recording time, and functionality. You can still do dirt with this 10 year old relic. Shoot within its boundaries and you will get fantastic results

How did you get such smooth footage? From what I understand the GH4 does not have internal stabilisation. Other footage I saw was very wobbly

Haven’t personally used the a6400 but I’ve heard it’s amazing and I have always been a fan of Sony! Sony has great colors and handles skin tones really nice.

wait...is that a thing? I just assumed that mine has a bad port, or that my cheep little external from amazon was just crappy

Don’t like the M43 mount? Buy what you want and use an adapter. Between Panasonic, Olympus, and 3rd party manufacturers there are lots of good choices.

Here is a thought. A camera that took great images four years ago will continue to take great images now. The technology progresses without me. Good enough is more than good enough now. $400 is a righteous price.

Met me break it to ya.
The cine d is NOT the flattest profile the gh4 can do, its got Vlog profile, and cost like 99 dollars for the profile.
The mount is not bad as you said, but who said you cant adapt anything onto it? There are tons of adapter both standard and speedbooster. Ghat you must not know. I think.
I feel this video was made way too quick without doing a bit of research,
Im not sure you even cover the iso range on this because i havnt finish the video, bjt 800 iso is the cleanest one can get.
No a7s here but who even shoot a great camera without lighting your intended subject.
Also 400 bucks used is way too much. You can find this for 250 to 300 in marketplace.
