Yeah,...this is why I just simply market my videos as Video-Movies and do a 4-walling screening/showings because 'Quality' is in the Eye of The Beholder and it's not a tangible product AND I at least maintain that 'Quality' Control I envision for my video. All this jumping through hoops reminds me of Amazon's Createspace. But, I do realize that filmmakers do want to put their works on a wide multi-use streaming platform and I completely understand that. It's just sometimes you may not have the budget to meet and go through all these technicalities, (like you having to redo your own poster over again). But again I do appreciate you forging ahead and getting your movie out and I understand these companies want consistency in their offerings. I just choose another way. Thanks so much this was super helpful. I'm almost there. Here is question about copyrights. Can I submit a copyright request to the library of Congress before the movie is complete. My idea is I'm 70% done and wouldn't it be nice to have the copyright "already" in hand when I finish a few months from now. Otherwise, I finish the movie, then submit, then wait for the copyright to arrive. Thanks for all you share with us.
this video is very helpful. regarding the captions, do you need to make a captions SRT file that details all the ambience sounds and so on sepparate from the subtitles?
Have you tried emailing filmhub customer service directly? Whenever I've got a snag, I've found that they're pretty good with providing a clearer reason why it was rejected.
Hi Allan, I'm running into an issue on converting my film into prores. It goes through, but then it blackens out after a certain amount of time each time I do it. Have you ever run into this issue before? Any suggestions? Thank you.
I have black gaps intentionally in part of my film to create the ambiance of what I'm going for. It has failed on the first QC to filmhub. When you email them that it was your artistic vision, do you know if they normally understand and let you re submit as is? Output errors are the same thing as black gaps correct? Thanks Alan.
So whenever I had an issue with filmhub I sent them an email an a rep helped me out. There's many intentional black gaps in my film the brotherhood but after pestering them many times they finally got it passed but Things have changed considerably since I first submitted to Film hub. They charge now for a pro distribution membership for instance so its just a hunch but I bridge l believe they're prioritizing paid members over the nonpaid films. If they continue to be absent I'd try to paid option for like a month and cancel after you've gotten the proper customer service you desire. As far as if black gaps are output errors I'd ask them because it could also be a repeated frame for instance and they should give you the exact point of the output error in the timestamp of your film. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the help Alan. They have changed a lot, and used to answer back right away. I might do what you suggested, do a paid membership, at least for a month, just so I can talk to them. And I'll clarify that on the output. Thanks again, I appreciate you.
Aye there brethren, do I create ad chapter breaks in my Davinci 19 first or do I create it on Filmhub uplaod dashboard?? This is my first time self-distributing. Tired of getting ripped off by distributors. SO doing it myself. I would appreciate any help with this quesiton. Thanks in advance.
The "no repeating frames" requirement sounds a bit odd...if the film has 2d character animation it will almost always have repeating frames. Maybe the animation was done on two's...maybe a character holds a pose for 6 frames or whatever...surely they've accepted such films.
@@nedaari1 no I tried uploading to another site kind of like filmhub but still no reply on the processing and if it’ll be accepted. How do I get software to fix my video
GOOOOODNESS! Just successfully submitted. That was soooo difficult, but I learned a lot.
Great work Allan!
Closed Captions is brutal

What resolution file did you upload for Tubi?
It was a 2k file, but that was before filmhub let you upload UHD files
this video is very helpful.

Great Content : )
Thank you for the info sir and your film is quality work!
Much appreciated 🙏🏾! And you're very welcome. Stay tuned for the 10k sub giveaway 😁 if you've seen the film 🎥
I keep getting rejected because of artwork, I upload the spec ratio but it comes back saying "padding and borders" I don't have borders.

I got it all cleared up and passed QC :)@@IndieFilmArmy
I recommend changing the art of the poster, make it a light or white background color and a centered image with large text, it almost always works.
Thank you Ace!
Great video! Did filmhub get your film on Prime Video Canada as well?
Question: I created my captions track in premier pro and exported them to SRT. Do I now delete the caption track or leave the captions in there?
Dope man thanks 🙏 you’re the best!
great info,do they take 720x480 or does it nee to be 1080p and up?
1080p o more
How do you fix repeated frames? and will they accept stretched video but still within aspect raster ?
Can you upload cinematic black bar when submitting your film to filmhub?
Amazon has licensed my movie for almost a month now. How long does it normally take before your movie goes live???

Is repeated frames the same as duplicated frames? And if they are not the same what is the difference? Thank you
For the purposes of this film hubs qc process, yup, they're the same!
@@IndieFilmArmy Thank you Allan!

Very true they definitely have for sure and in that case you might have to send them an email explaining your films rationale for repeated Frames
If I don’t have the original video file how to I fix the over compressed error when uploaded to filmhub?
You have to use decompression software. I see your comment was two months ago...did you figure it out?
