- Obviously not the best quality (I pointed a camera at a TV screen), Russian TV bought the rights to the scripts of Married With Children, and produced them often shot-for-shot. And when Fox cancelled the series in the US, it was so popular in Russia that the Russians paid the US writers to generate scripts for an additional season, so there are episodes of Married With Children (granted, in Russian) which were never seen on US TV.
To paraphrase general Chang: You haven't experienced Married with Children until you've watched it in the original Russian.
There are a few episodes based on scripts which never had an American version produced, so those few episodes are actually completely original, and written by the original writers!
I personally prefer the Russian adaptation over the original version, the acting of the whole cast in it is just gorgeous.
Possibly, it's because almost all of the Russian cast were acting in actual drama theaters both before and after the adaptation came out.
The greatest performance here is delivered, of course, by the actor who played Gena Bukin (Russian Al Bundy) - Victor Loginov. Thanks to Victor's talent, his character is incredibly popular in Russia to this day, 16 years after the show came out.
This is my personal take, but the adaptation also feels much funnier thanks to the fact that the screenwriters took the original American screenplays and only changed the names of the characters along with very few details.
Because of that, there are cheerleaders, soccer teams and actual soccer matches in a "typical Russian school" inside a small Siberian town (none of that I've ever seen anywhere in my country, but at least they changed American football to something that is actually played in Russia).
And the dumbest part - the Russian "poor family of a shoe-salesman" has a two-story apartment with 2 bedrooms and a livingroom (24% of people in Russia don't even have toilets inside the house, just for comparison).
And yes, Bundy's house became Bukin's apartment, because only 25% of people in Russia live in private houses. Btw, as specifically explained in Russian adaptation, Gena Bukin built the second floor of his family apartment himself, by illegally taking over the public attic of their apartment building.
To me, it all just adds to the whole surreal vibe this show gives out, like it takes place in a parallel universe. I really like that for some reason.

It wasn't a rip-off. Scripts of the series were sold by Fox to a Russian media company to be produced for Russian audiences. The show's original writers and producers were all involved.
@@OrangeBang74 Im sure it was all legal im just saying that the intro directly copies the intro of MWC w that exact scene/part. They could have at least changed it to like Russian Bud hitting on then getting slapped by a girl or something to that effect. But it could be an homage too. Thats why I said respect lol 🙏

Wouldn't have watched JUST because of the intro.
The original theme is (also) why the series became so popular to begin with. And it brought the song back. For a while...

Yes. And a Russian Marcy named Lena became Lena Polena. And also in the very episode where Al's socks were stolen by aliens. Dasha (Russian Peg) does not say "This is Chernobyl". She says, "This is an environmental disaster." And it's a good thing that our guys didn't make a remake of the Trip to England. And yes, I hate our remake.
