Thanks!! For marble or granite I would stick with some sort of base that the top can sit on/attach to. But I’m not an expert in that space so I would check with some who specializes in granite/stone tops before attempting it.
The Rubio Monocoat pure 2C fully cures in 7 days but you can use the piece after a day. It’s very durable. Rubio was originally designed for hardwood flooring applications and is still mainly used for floors today.
What type of router bit is used when routing inside the template? How would it ride along the template without plunging the entire depth of the bit? What am I missing?
You use a router template guide or router bearing. They come in different sizes depending on how much you want it held off the finished cut or how deep you want to cut before it stops. I’m sure I’m not using the exact right terminology but you’ll find what you need with that.
You dont seem to get many views, but i really like the content you are making. Its SO nice being able to watch a good, detailed video on a product before getting it. Thats why i keep buying from you. Please keep it up!
Thanks for watching! We hope these videos help understand how to use the products. We get a lot of views on our shorts but our main videos get lower views.
@@jeffmackdesigns oh! Dont know how else to ask you besides here, would you consider making a 16"x16" square mold? Youve got an 18x18 but 16x16 would be awesome too! (Which could be divided into roughly 8x16 and thats a nice size for little butter boards and such)

nice work, only thing id say is anytime i see someone wearing gloves on high spinning bladed machines my heart is in my mouth. I like my hands where they are!
Hey guys! How thick would you make legs for a desk? I got the dining template for this project. I have 2” rough sawn maple but after planing the boards of course they are now 1 3/4 thick. Thoughts here??
I bought a kit and the template is only 1/16 larger than the plate on each side. This is too small of an offset to use with a guide bushing so evidently they are using a pattern router bit in the video (even though they make sure not to show this important detail). Well now we I need to find a 1/4 or so short pattern bit somewhere. Easier to go ahead and use my bushing set to make a new template from the actual plate with extra offsets. Everyone keep it in mind that the template they are providing is of a questionable utility.
Beautiful. I can imagine sandwiching a lighter colored wood between the walnut to give a little extra bling.
Great job and these templates are awesome! Well done Jeff.
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words! 🙌🙌🙌 they’ve been a lot of fun to work with in the shop!
That's insanely gorgeous!
Thank you so much!

Awesome job
Thank you! We had a lot of fun developing these and testing them out. Can’t wait to see what people make with them
Wow looks great. Is there a way I can attach these legs to marble or granite table tops?

nice X leg for table, thanks for the video
Thanks for the watch!
Love the look of the oil finish.😊
What is the cure time, and how durable are they?

i dig it. Nice looking legs!!

All that effort and you put thos giant mounting brackets on it, looks amazing finish, just surprised that decision was made
It's the sturdiest way to mount them, once they're flush and mounted to the underside they aren't noticeable.

@@austinwise7436 that’s a possibility if there’s enough demand for that size.
@@jeffmackdesigns sign me up for 2 right now. I cant find that size anywhere and am tired of making my own forms.
@@austinwise7436 a good short term alternative would be to pop a few dividers in the 18” by 18” to avoid building your own.
Nice work! Where can I purchase some of these mounting plates?

Might get those gloves caught one day might not
God speed to your fingers lol
I can see the value in these templates 🇦🇺👴🏻
They should be pretty valuable even if they are only used once! Throw in the fact that they are reusable… 🚀
What size band saw do you use to cut bigger legs? Smaller legs are ok for this size band saw but bigger can be problematic.
We have a 14” band saw… most band saws will accommodate this kind of cutting
Thank you. @@jeffmackdesigns
I bought the template for the U shaped legs, where is your video for that one,, can't find it. Tks
We haven't created a video on the U shape legs, but its an identical process!
would wood glue work as well with the inserts or you recommend epoxy?
We recommend epoxy or CA Glue. Wood glue doesn't tend to bond to metal too well.

1 3/4" sounds on the thin side, but ultimately its a design choice. What matters most is how they get mounted to the table top!
Can you provide a link to the templates and the plates?
Hi there, thank you for expressing interest in our products! The links can be found in the video description.
Does the desk rack without any cross bracing?
Depends on the species, dryness and design of the build! Some of our tables receive bracing while others don't.
What wood glue do you use?
Titebond!
2 sided template tape. has anyone heard of that before? ;-)
Ya ,called double sided foam tape
Our tape is not foam!

What a waste of expensive wood. The rough stock should be closer to the template
That was my first thought as well...yikes.
Many of those pieces were left over dimensional off cuts from previous jobs!
That’s what I came to say…
You wasted so much excess wood? Weird. The rest of your work is awesome
