If the players were paid by performance metrics instead of train loans of cash, it would be a different game. If the players were seriously fined as a significant percentage of their salary for unnecessary roughness, unsportsmanlike conduct, etc. (read: "being an asshole" penalties), we'd see a cleaner game. If taunting and all the stupid 'celebrations' resulted in immediate ejections, we'd see a faster game with less fights.
If you could see what the refs see from their vantage point on the field you’d understand why they can’t make the best calls every single time. We have the luxury of a birdseye view and instant replay. Give them a break will ya?

Burfict was known to be doing it on purpose. At least with Jackson, a lot of those hits he's been fined or suspended for shouldn't be, or are ticky-tack calls imo. A few, like the one against Washington, were legit calls with no excuses, but I think the one he most recently got ejected for is a bad call. He hit the chest area and didn't lead with his helmet, so it should have been legal.

On the first one, he’s moving up field by moving backwards so how can he be defenseless. If I guy is falling backwards you just have to give him 5 extra yards, or as long as he can maintain shoe balance?

There should be some sort of leniency in that situation. It was fairly obvious it was accidental. If there was any doubt it wasn't accidental, then they should eject him though as they can't risk it.

I remember this one interview where Tom Brady was talking about it and he said something about from a quarterbacks perspective, don’t throw the slant if he see ray Lewis hurling at the receiver. That being said, if it’s going to be a penalty it should honestly be on the quarterback for putting the receiver in a situation where they have to catch the ball then immediately brace for impact.
