I agree! Unlike the GTA series, which I also love, Uncharted is not just a bunch of songs from various genres/artists slapped together. I'm not taking it away from Rockstar, but Uncharted did an amazing job in that sense!
i know U3 is divisive, understandably so, but that scene with elena after he washes up at her door is one of my all time favorite moments between them. and considering U4 is FULL of wonderful moments between them, that's saying a lot
Fast Action, mystical spectacle, beautiful leading actress, charismatic protagonist, all the basic elements of traditional action adventure story. You get those right, you got a story.
Not to forget: the music 🎵 Didn’t include the section in the video but I had written a section about the importance of the music in these games also, and how, as you say, it all contributes to making a great story and experience!
@@nicodalsgaard yes, uncharted music is so pretty iconic I even added them to my playlist. But i feel music is the complementary part of the story. For example novels don’t have BGM, yet they have powerful impact no less than movies and video games. You create a meaningful story, the music follows, even if you don’t know how to write them, but some musician who resonate with the story will write it for you.
The music too man. I remember my first time playing. I remember feeling so sad and guilty for something I didn’t even do. That’s the impact uncharted has. I’ll never forget it.
The characters are like your friends/family, the music is epic and emotional at just about all times, the set pieces are meaningful, beautiful landscapes, very fun gameplay. It's got everything you want in a video game.
My man, this quality in your voice, script and edition is more than impressive! Hope soon this work will paid-off monetarily speaking to you in good way
What made the Uncharted games so remarkable was their ability to draw you into a world that completely captivated you, making you feel like an integral part of the story. They don’t just entertain; they create an emotional connection that immerses you so deeply, it feels like you’re living the adventure yourself. When the journey ends, you don’t just remember it as a game you played-you look back on it like a cherished memory you experienced firsthand.
Couldn’t have said it better, that’s exactly how it is. I remember playing that “for better or worse” chapter in U4 and feeling so guilty driving through that long stretch of road. Those kind of emotions really make uncharted great, and I’ll never forget it.
I dont know why, but it was actually Crash Bandicoot that got me into this series. I love Crash Bandicoot, and when i saw Nate and Elena playing on that PS1, i was sold. Well i guess not just Crash Bandicoot, but the climbing too. It seemed so fun when i first came across this series, and it still is fun to climb in these games.
Great script, great voiceover, great analysis. Love hearing people appreciate my favourite game series of all time. So many fond memories, especially the Uncharted 2 and 3 multiplayer days. Keep up the good work, everything is very high quality!
man i am SO GLAD yt recommended this to me, an excelent video about an amazing saga. U did a great job and managed to, even with the AI voice, transmit a ton of feelings. again, great job and you have a new suscriber!
What an amazing video bro. I grew up with and love the uncharted series so watching all the games compiled into one video really hit close to home. Keep up the good work
The single player is great, however paired with the multiplayer was something else. That music while waiting to join a multiplayer match in Uncharted 2, just takes the whole series to another level.
lol what? Neil co-wrote and directed Uncharted 4. After that Last of Us Part 2 required all hands on deck. Since 2020 they’ve been working on a brand new IP, but haven’t announced it yet due to Sony. Since Sony apparently are the ones who announce their studios’ games They had to cancel Factions 2 but who knows, maybe an Uncharted sequel is in the works as well
Love this video! I hardly knew it was AI voice. It’s great video!! Beautifully made! As someone who knew right away uncharted one would be great pre ordered it on back in the day. Loved it and my friends borrowed it and became fans!!
Interesting video to pop up just now! This is something I’d expect to see five years down the road, but to pop up now, when I’m replaying the series, is incredible. And holy shit you do an amazing job of explaining why this series is fantastic. Great job and keep up the good work!
I have been missing these games and characters since I finished U4 in 2016, so for me, it felt like the perfect time to revisit it all. 😊 And thanks for the positive feedback! That’s so nice of you😍
This video is hitting me in the feels. I just recently played through 1-4 and playing Lost Legacy now. Makes me already miss and want to play the first 4 again lol.
I grew up with the Uncharted franchise and the more I learn about it the more my appreciation for it grows. I realized recently, studying some of the prequel Uncharted comics and stories, combined with the games themselves reveals that Uncharted is actually a story of maturity, family, and, in a manner of speaking repentance. Nathan Drake in his early days, particularly with Sullivan was extremely adventurous to the point of recklessness, not really caring too much about the dangers that each adventure had both for him and his friends. As he gets older, he realizes that in the end the material treasure he is seeking is never worth the lives of his friends and they themselves become the real treasure. In the second Uncharted game (Uncharted 2 Among Thieves) he almost loses Elena, and, in that scare, he realizes how dear she is to him. This begins his rapid path to maturity and repentance (changing of mind) from the thrill-seeking adventures. Finally, to Uncharted 4 it is seen that Elena is what actually keeps Nate grounded. Elena's love and care takes Nate out of his somewhat childish (to an extent) side of reckless adventure for material things and brings him to something greater, love for friends and family. Uncharted overall is a beautiful story and it is this reason, of character evolution for the better, that I have a profound love for the franchise.
So true! The characters that surround nathan is what seperates him from Sam, and what gives him his heart of gold, which in turn, leads him to maturity. :))
Well done, fantastic video and choice of topics. It’s hard to say why uncharted is so amazing and fascinating, I’d say that is relatable and the tridimensionality of characters makes you feel part of the game, at the end of each game you feel like a thrilling adventure with your best mates has just ended. Every time I played one of the games, every time soundtrack hit, I felt home
Uncharted 4 was the first one I played, I remember being awestruck at how it felt like I was playing through an awesome movie, I mean there were times when I was literally out of breath after an action sequence lol I then went back and played from the first one onward and loved every minute of it
man U4 and the lost legacy is one of the most beautiful games i ever play, the scenery is mind blowing, i wish theres place like that in real life ....
My first and best description of Uncharted when I first played it (it was u3, than u2, u1 and u4) was: The gaming itself exists to give as expiriences such are these. No fight simulator, no war simulator, sport simulator, driving simulator, rts simulator or anything else but to make me the greatest adventurer and explorer of uncharted, historic and epic places.
Let me make it clear, I love Xbox but somehow Naughty Dog still remains my favorite game developer ever. Till date I haven't played any game that it's story made me feel so emotional like The Last Of Us. That game made me love Naughty Dog and whenI played Uncharted 4, I was hooked like the Story and Gameplay was just up there - 100%
i love uncharted so much! And maybe the narrative dissonance is part of the charm or what makes it memorable? I just replayed uncharted 4 for the first time in 6 years and it was amazingggg!!!! I fell in love all over again!
Captivating stories, charismatic characters, an extremely likable protagonist, easy but fun combat mechanics, spectacular level design, and emotionally consistent development arcs. You also have the lack of politics, consistent quality, and a development team that doesn’t want to milk the franchise to the grave but understood where exactly would be the right note to end the series. Now you are left with one of the most fun and memorable adventure series in all of gaming that doesn’t overstay its welcome and will always be there for us to revisit and replay.
So thankful for all your reactions and comments about the video! It took a lot of time to make, and it is so fulfilling to see all the feedback and attention it’s getting!🙏🏼
The villains were definitely memorable and added greatly to the significance of the Uncharted series. Each with their own uniqueness, some witty, some more ambitious. The villains of the series definitely have a place in my heart. I personally didn’t like Nadine so much in U4 because I felt like they tried to have a badass person who was capable of bringing both drake brothers single handed. I thought that was a bit much, and would’ve preferred if the side villain much like Talbot from U3 was someone with actual training or skills, possibly someone like Orca or Knot from U4. Overall, each game excluding lost legacy, was amazing. I will always return to them.
I didn't find Uncharted until just after the 3rd game, played it only because it came with my PS3, and fell in love. I then ran out and got the the 1st and 2nd, then a Vita so I could play Golden Abyss. These games are the best thing I've ever played. Edit: 5:25 "Ow! I did not see that." Gets me every time 😂 Edit #2: 7:40 "Well, well, well." That's a good one too 😂
@@Hunter_71498 One side of me agrees that, if they ever were to make another one, Cassie would be the best choice by far, for the new protagonist! Another side of me is afraid of getting another game, if it fails... :/
Im not even halfway done with the video and i miss it so much cause ive only played U1,U2,U3 and im yet to play U4 but all i can say is that its the best game ive ever plaged on playstation and no other game matches it to me and i can do anything to play it again because the storyline, the gameplay, the shooting is just awesome to a point where it feels impossible to explain but its just at the tip of the tongue
Thank you for capturing the reasons why I just adore these games. I grew up as an Xbox player but always longed to play this series. When I was older and Spider-Man was coming out, I finally made the switch and got the whole Uncharted series as well. Uncharted 4 in particular is one that I just keep coming back to and replaying.
I finished Lost Legacy recently and I wish that I didn’t play it much sooner. It was so much fun that it made me want to start the whole series over again. Nate’s story is done but I’d love another game with Chloe, Nadine and Sam (maybe Sully too?)
I miss him Nathan Drake /: the uncharted music quite literally does something to my soul like EVERY TIME I hear it I get filled with so many good memories man, and I wish I could do it all over again
The story was always great, the characters are really charismatic, even the villains, the soundtrack is amazing, the gun fight is always enjoyable, and the harder the difficulty, the more realistic it gets. Finding the treasures as you progressed through the levels were also a plus. I say Naughty Dog did a great job and gave the perfect ending to the franchise.
Uncharted is one of my favorite videos games it’s amazing story and characters and the scope of the gameplay is incredible Nathan drake is one of my favorite characters
the best franchise ever, hopefully some day we could finally play a game based on a younger sully with that 007/magnum p.i, look and vibe from uncharted 3.
Nate is much more interesting and multi dimensional character it the last game mainly because of Neil Druckmann who was not involved in the first 3 games or not in a major capacity. This man just knows how to write a story and a main character!
I agree that he had a HUGE role to play, in making the last game stand out in the writing of the characters - He really knows how to write some great characters.
mannn, Uncharted 1 was my first video game, yes im early 20's i played the first one over and over until i randomly found the 3rd one at walmart one day, i played the crap outta it, when i got the ps5 i played the 2nd one, those 3 games and the first dying light was my childhood, i will be connected to those for as long as i live
Storytelling is a risk because it needs to land with the audience. But it is a risk worth taking. Taking those risks often leads to the most impactful stories. When a story resonates, it changes peoples lives. That's what makes Uncharted. It takes the best of fiction and blockbuster visuals and blends it with the fun of interactivity.
Question is - will there ever be another game as majestic in every aspect as this? I really hope so. And if anyone can bring it, please do because we're waiting. 🙏🏾😃
I think they had a great story with great development. And they had the perfect balance of playing and watching and they had a great balance of difficulty depending on what they were trying to show. Drake getting swarmed on the boats was tough cause he was outnumbered in a storm. Same when he was hopelessly outmatched by that lady. Even the 2v1 later with sam wasn’t easy. But running off a burning building or fighting a loser who just wanted the money and wasn’t the brains or brawn’s was easy peasy. that Russian dude at the end of 2 wasn’t an easy fight either so it’s not like oh final boss is hard there’s really story telling in the difficulty.
Over the top action, stunning visuals that still hold well today, Nathan Drake's constant growth as a character, loyal supporting characters and over the top action, that's what. Each game in the series got better, in my own opinion. I will say this with A Thief's End though, I think that there were some aspects of the game that held it back a bit. I thought Rafe Adler was the weakest villain in the series, and I hated how stupidly overpowered Nadine Ross was. Also, don't forget Golden Abyss and The Lost Legacy, they're great games as well
I'd be like that cow, over the pigging moon if Naughty Dog would either remaster the first three games and port them to PC, or just port the first three as they are to PC
Honestly- the beginning of Among Thieves is one of the, if not THE best opening to a video game I’ve ever played….the characters, graphics, music…so fantastic. My only complaints about the whole thing were Nadine and Elena. First the nonsense with Nadine. She can apparently not only kick Nate’s arse, but also the arses of Nate and Sam at the same time- yeah. Right. Then Elena. She’s soooo wrong for Nate. Always whining about what he wants to do, telling him he’s wrong about bodies of pirates piled up as though *she* is the history buff In Thief’s End. And in the same game He *apologises* for his passion. He shouldn’t have to do that….they shouldn’t have had him settle down- especially with Elena. Because they ended his adventures. He only got one adventure with Sam! They could have had loads together. Should not have married and instead gone on adventures with Sam, Chole, Cutter and Sully.
I reall need a new uncharted game. I do not understand why U4 had to be the last game for Drake. We can have at least one more adventure with his daughter as the main character
The music in these games are so iconic. I think one of the best overall in games.
Wholeheartedly agree! I had to cut out the music section I had written because it would have been far too long :))
look i love naughty dog but please go listen to some japanese game music. that's such an untrue statement

Great video. You need more subscriber for sure!
Thank you 😍
the best franchise ever, hopefully some day we could finally play a game based on a younger sully with that 007/magnum p.i, look and vibe from uncharted 3.
Uncharted is the GOAT🐐
I agree! :)
@@nicodalsgaard 💪🔥
Nate is much more interesting and multi dimensional character it the last game mainly because of Neil Druckmann who was not involved in the first 3 games or not in a major capacity. This man just knows how to write a story and a main character!
I agree that he had a HUGE role to play, in making the last game stand out in the writing of the characters - He really knows how to write some great characters.
I remember that Uncharted was called the graphics king
mannn, Uncharted 1 was my first video game, yes im early 20's i played the first one over and over until i randomly found the 3rd one at walmart one day, i played the crap outta it, when i got the ps5 i played the 2nd one, those 3 games and the first dying light was my childhood, i will be connected to those for as long as i live
It's so fun to hear how everyone has had different introductions to the franchise! :))
@@nicodalsgaard oh yea, but totally is my dads fault for getting me into it. lol
10/10 game and video
Thanks! 🙌🏻
Broski you just earned a sub. Straight cooked
Thank you so much!🙏🏼
the music is awesome
I genuinely thought this video had over 200k views. This video deserves so much more attention!
Wow thanks! Glad you enjoyed it - Worked hard on creating it. :)
I love this game series fantastic video also ❤
Thanks! 😍
Uncharted still is one of my best game
8 years since uncharted 4 released..... wtf........ im not ok
Avery word is true! ❤
Question is - will there ever be another game as majestic in every aspect as this? I really hope so. And if anyone can bring it, please do because we're waiting. 🙏🏾😃
Good video, man.
Thanks a lot! :)
Good point. Never thought about that :))
Also, don't forget Golden Abyss and The Lost Legacy, they're great games as well
Uncharted has one of the best music ever.
I miss my beloved Sully...and Drake, I guess too 😂
I'd be like that cow, over the pigging moon if Naughty Dog would either remaster the first three games and port them to PC, or just port the first three as they are to PC
It’s my favorite game of all time ❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭
Honestly- the beginning of Among Thieves is one of the, if not THE best opening to a video game I’ve ever played….the characters, graphics, music…so fantastic.
Such a great video. Only one problem. It’s El-lay-nuh, not El-eh-nuh 😂
I was about to say the exact same thing. It bugged me the whole video
Thanks for watching!
I know!!! But the AI-voice wouldn’t pronounce it properly, so i just went with it :))
