2023 Ducati Scrambler Icon Review

  • In 2023, Ducati thought it was worthwhile to do a host of styling updates that include a redesign of the tank, headlight, body panels, wheels, and even the swingarm because a normal center-mounted-shock was too… overdone, apparently. We’re talking aesthetics here, and the Scrambler is all about ‘em. In addition to the new styling components that allow a total of nine color options, Ducati has also slimmed down the rear end with a new bolt-on subframe, added a new dash and headlight design that prominently features the black X, and has rerouted the exhaust for rider comfort. Lighter cast wheels are used, and engine covers have been updated. Moving past the Icon’s new ‘fit, it’s the ride-by-wire throttle that sets the Scrambler on a new, more modern, trajectory.

Cool review thanks. Is it too hot on a very warm day in heavy traffic?

A Ducati 748 front sprocket fits straight on and gives music better in gear acceleration, yes you rev more at high speed but it’s not made for high speed.

In Australia we'd use a bike like this around town. My main query is to with the width of the handlebars when filtering through traffic. It's legal here up to 25kmh if traffic is stopped at a red light.

I filter through traffic with mine. We can also filter at stop lights.

Love the styling for many Ducati's just can't do the price compared to even other European makes, let alone the Japanese 4 (CB 1000 R or R9T pure vs. a scrambler? I'll take the CB or R9T).

I like the style of Ducati Scrambler, but the price seems a bit to much. I wish the price range would be at around $9.5/ $10K. I'm looking forward to the Honda Scrambler instead.

Great looking bike but with the price tag here in Australia being what it is and fact it’s missing spoked wheels I’d never have the heart to use it for what it’s supposed for and that’s off-road. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Ducati Scramblers throw off too much heat. The moment you slow down or come to a stop, you might as well sprinkle salt and pepper on your leg because it will be roasted.

@@ljr869 Coincidentally, I rented a Scrambler 1100 Sport last summer for 4 days. I based my previous comment on that experience. My current bike is a 2017 SV650. To me, to have to deal with so much heat for a bike that is double the price of my SV is unacceptable. I've ridden other air cooled bikes before (not Harleys) and I don't remember heat being a problem. Anyway, that's my experience. I'm sticking with liquid cooled.

The new look seems cheaper, more plasticky, overpriced, and the colors seem girly.
The past models looked better, more traditional, classic, if they would've only maintain that look with the upgrades of less weight, less heat, and a better navigating screen settings (that the preview ones are a pain to navigate) would've been a heck of a bike.
This bike has no attitude, no personality, as much as the over use of plastic it has on it.

More electronics, more display, how long until you start seeing ads on that screen in the free subscription plan? How long until you have to pay a monthly fee to access all the power? Ride by wire + a computer can do that.

They ruined a great looking bike with pretentious details like the useless X on the headlight and SCR text under the seat. Many other design updates such as the whole tank also went the wrong direction as well, it became a cheap techy knock off of itself, at least it's more in line with the terrible marketing they did for the Scrambler brand now. Such a shame to see Ducati failing on the design department where they were quite great for many years.
