DIdn't watch the entire thing so maybe it answers the question, but do you have both a water filter hooked up and an auto-refill system installed (water notoriously hard here in Phoenix area), connected from water supply?
@@SWLinPHX So refill is manually done for now. I will probably do some type of auto fill in the future. It is unfiltered water and sometimes rain water from my collection tank. I feel like the extra “minerals” we have in Tucson water probably helps slow down the leakage through the mortar and block. :)
@@fixcreateexplore Thanks for the prompt reply. I have a big new house and want to install a fountain with pool like this one, about 6' diameter and equally tall or taller. Is it necessary to install a concrete platform first? I'm sure there are solid bases you can install before setting up the fountain right? I'll probably have someone install it since it will be. It will be huge and heavy and I need an underground water line run from my hose spigot on the side of the house. I have a few small resin fountains and the only other stone fountain I had which was heavy wasn't nearly as big and sat on a pedestal on my concrete patio so no need for foundation. But this will be in the garden/dirt by my front entryway. Any tips?
@SWLinPHX So my concrete base is multipurpose. The natural ground level at the location was a feet lower before I built the planter it sits in. It is also the base to hold water. If you get a one piece base for your fountain and you have firm ground then a concrete foundation is probably overkill. Just keep in mind that water weighs about 8.3 pounds per gallon. Thanks for the questions 🙂
Hello. So I bought the fountain stone pieces in Imuris, Sonora, Mexico. The pump was purchased in Arizona at one of the big DIY stores. It is a smartpond 420-GPH Submersible Pond Pump. It has been doing well and is easy to take apart and clean any debris that gets in. Thanks for the question!
@@gsxripper8418 it is around 2 years old and still holding water well. I lose more water to evaporation and birds drinking out of it. We use it regularly. Thanks for the question.
It leaks water slowly into the surrounding planter so I have to top it off every 3-4 days in the summer. I believe I lose some to evaporation and wildlife as well since temperatures are sitting around 100-110F. The stone of the fountain itself also soaks in some of the water. I’ve been happy with topping it off occasionally and I feel like the only thing I could have done to make it more leak resistant is to apply something similar to what they use in pools. Hope that helps with your build. 😁
Hello Maggie. Without knowing the specifics of your water feature, I can only offer some suggestions. If installation instructions were not included try googling the make or model for more info. Usually these features have some type of mounts on the back to hang on lag bolts that are drilled into studs. The heavier ones could also require an extra support shelf to sit on. I know it’s not much but I hope it helps. You got this! 😁
You are genius … i which I could be your student to make those things
Thanks for such kind words! 😊

How long has it been since you originally built this fountain and it is it still standing intact and working with no leaks

Is it water proof? I’m building a fountain in my back yard and don’t know what to use

I have a stone water feature that is stored to go on the wall but it's way too heavy. Can you give me ideas on how I can set it up?

@@fixcreateexplore Thank you
What mortar did you use to glue all the pieces together?
It was Amerimix preblended mortar type S
WOW... that snare drum banging is annoying!!
I apologize. 😅 Listening to it today I have to agree! I’ll edit and repost when I get a chance. Thanks
