  • In this video I install a vase style underground vessel fountain. I wanted the water to appear as if it was disappearing into the ground. I'll take you to two pottery/fountain stores and show you every step in the installation. The pumps are magnetic drive Little Giant pumps rated for continuous duty. they use as much power as a typical fish tank. Also I've included lighting pictures and completed landscape video. Thank you for watching and please consider subscribing and giving the video a thumbs up.

    This video is wonderful, and I like how you explained all the details from start to finish. I have been researching basins and I was wondering where you purchased yours. Your fountains have an added curb appeal and I love the sound, lighting, and landscaping! Great job!

      Thank you! I purchased them from a local pottery store that has since unfortunately gone out of business. They are pretty common though just search ceramic fountains or pottery most are outdoor.

      @@bobbygfl Sorry, I mean the black basin underneath that holds the water, and where you dug your hole and placed concrete around it... Some on line are not strong enough and are warping once the vessel is placed on top.

      This is the closest I can find to what I installed. a.co/d/hYXiZU6

    So the body of the ceramic vessel is not filled with water, is it? Looks like there is a small bowl shaped area on top that the water tube comes out of. Would like to see more detail of actually installing the pump and tubing. I will keep looking. I like your final result. thanks

      Thanks. The center of the ceramic vessel is hollow. There is a bowl at the top which holds about 2 inches of water and causes the bubbling effect. There is a bronze fitting, pushed into a hole at the top of the vessel. You can pull it up and out if you needed to. Attached to it is the rubber hose that extends down to the pump. The pump is located about 18 inches below the vessel. It sits almost at the bottom of the water which is located under ground.

      Thank you very much. I have a few more home-improvement videos coming out and I have a Smithy video where the seasoning completely flaked off and I stripped the pan and re-season it.

      I use a little giant magnetic pump. Here’s the link and this pump is designed to run 24 seven you will actually get less life out of it if you turn it on and off. It’s a magnetic pump with no touching parts. I get about three or four years out of them. Little Giant PES-290-PW 115-Volt,... www.amazon.com/dp/B002TH07XM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    How do you add water?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  Рік тому +1

      I can just put a hose at the base and fill it until it overflows. Or what I did was run a sprinkler line to them so when the sprinklers run each week it gets topped off

      @@Ken-o4m gettin the water out is another story. I bought the Milwaukee transfer pump but to empty and clean is a bit of a pain. Only had to do it once in two years.
