I read that sword plants are pretty hard to keep. They get there food most out of the surface en not out of the water. So is it enough to add nutricians to the water so the plant will not turn yellow or get slimey?
I just revived my Red Rubins from you today and they are huge! Can I trim the large leaves in order to spout smaller ones? Does this plant grow slowly? Thank you again for all your information!
Hi! I got gravel in my aquarium and I plan to buy some amazon swords, but will they thrive? I don't have root tabs but I fertilize the aquarium once a week ... what to do? Should I buy? (I have crypts. too )
I would LOVE to have that plant I took a look at your website& you don't have it listed that I can see so I was wondering do you have it for sell? 3;32 mins into the video. if so how much or send me the link to find it.
Hi Gayle. Here is a link to that plant on my website. It looks like we are currently sold out. We should get more next week. www.jacobsaquarium.com/echinodorus/red-flame
1. Can Amazon swords live with just sand substrate? 2. How come my Amazon Swords I have haven't got the vines coming out so that it produces more baby ones?
My swords grow in my greenhouse in pure silica sand under natural sunlight and I get excellent growth. So I would say growing them in sand in a normal planted tank under artificial lighting should be fine. It would also help to dose liquid nutrients since none is available in the sand. As far as your swords not producing runners, I say just give it time. Submerged grown Aquatic plants take time to establish their roots and grow. It all of course depends on what you're using with your tank. CO2 would definitely help speed things up. Thanks for watching.
Hi. I strictly use Kessil LED's on all my planted tanks. I've had the best results with them above any other fixture I have used. They're a little pricy but worth it in my opinion. Thanks for watching.

Hey Sir! Got a question. Do you make your light fixtures or you buy ready made light fixtures? If its the latter, what brand? TIA
