Pacman's hydrant set-ups on the ledge is just the tip of the iceberg.
His trampoline is also a devastating tool as it ignores and cancels invincibility frames for not being a damaging move and rather an interactive object. It can for example throw the opponent directly from the middle of a roll get-up to a flying fruit(usually the melon) or hydrant.

The trampoline can also force opponents to jump if they try to roll or get up normally if it is placed close enough to the stage. You can also use the bell to hit them if they try to drop from the edge and try to wait it out. The only problem with this is that it takes some time to set up and projectiles can get through the trampoline.

I see what you did there.
There's another ledge trap with Pac-Man that I really like. You have to be holding a melon in order for it to work, though. Basically, you run to the ledge, throw the melon up, then use trampoline and land at the ledge.
The reason why this is so good is because if your opponent rolls or attack, they run into the trampoline and get launched into the melon for the kill. If they jump, they hit the melon. If they wait, Pac Man will ledge trump them and can combo that into a pack air to possibly end the stock. And if the opponent drops off the stage, they gave up ledge invincibility and Pac Man is on the ledge ready to edge guard, which is not good for the opponent. And let's not forget he still has hydrant to use as well

Villager has another ledge covering trap that is safe against reflectors. He can plant a sap right at the end of the stage, then do a walking back water to any move, usually a up tilt to kill cause it comes out fast. This is used more by players like Ranai

Best ledge trap is Kirby neutral b. Some people say it sucks though.

I agree with Robin not being on the list, but not an HM? Arc fire covers 2 options, and can catch opponents if they wait too long. Robin can also read a roll with smash attacks.
However, I completely disagree with Corrin not even being on this list. Corrin's charging F Smash at the ledge (similar to Lucario) covers most options. But that's not the only thing... Corrin's neutral b (hold) ,spaced, covers most options as well. That's not all! Corrin has another option, too. Charging F smash spaced from the ledge covers many options including getting opponents if they wait too long.
Corrin f-smash doesn't cover most ledge options; it covers every ledge option. Jumpm Neutral Getup, and Attack are caught by the sword, and if you roll it becomes a tipper f-smash. Only problem is that this is easily countered by dropping off the ledge and coming back up with an aerial, or waiting for the f-smash to end, and then coming back up
+PaluWaifu It'll probably be dangerous to use that ledge trap when Corrin is at high percents because if I remember correctly if you get hit while charging a smash attack you'll take more knockback.

Yeah you do. It's best used when they are at kill percent and they aren't, or if they are impatient and just get off the ledge (especially if they that you might trump them)
Robin I'm surprised didn't make it, but the reason Corrin didn't is because the player needs good reaction time with the Dragon Fang trap and it can be waited out, while the FSmash trap can also be waited out as well as being punished if they drop from the ledge and attack

I think Ike's Neutral B makes for an incredible ledge trap situation. The flames, if spaced correctly, are big enough to catch anyone attempting hangout on the ledge, attempting to roll behind ike, jump above him, regrab, or even attack. The only issue is timing. There's a clear delay before the hitbox comes out so you pretty much have to feel when they'll decide to get up. Otherwise, your oppenent can simply dodge the move. It's and awesome edgeguarding tool alternatively.

Probably due to the amount of time it takes to set up and the fact that you can just wait it out.
It takes less than a second to set up if you ledge cancel it, and you can't wait it out if done right. It covers almost every ledge option, and the remaining ones get covered by Wario
Shh. Use the lack of coverage on the bike to catch opponents offguard with it.
As a Wario main, I can tell yah it doesn't really take that long.
If yah didn't know, you can run off the ledge and then bike onto the lip of the ledge to immediately get Wario off of it, and have the bike right next to the ledge. All Wario has to do then is aerial jump back onto the ledge and grab the bike.
The entire process takes about 1 second, counting from the point where Wario rides the air-bike.

I'm surprised Corrin isn't on this list. If you just roll over facing away from the ledge and charge a smash attack it covers EVERY OPTION and punishes with a forward smash (with rolling being the most punishable one because of the tipper). The only weakness I can think of is that the opponent gets back on stage by jumping off of the ledge and attacking.
And if you think that they'll stay on the ledge, side-b them with the tip for early kills!
Yeah I thought her fsmash trap would be in the honorable mentions, although it is fairly easy to dodge compared to the ones in this list
The opponent can still avoid Corrin's Fsmash by letting go of the ledge and then punish it with an aerial or they can simply waiting for the Fsmash to finish charging and then punish Corrin with a getup attack.
JohnKnight416 Yeah, it's powerful but you have to use it sparingly, otherwise people can read it. Usually more useful when quite some time has passed and you haven't used it yet.
I don't think you realize how devastating it can be for Corrin to be attacked while doing that. Remember, knockback is increased against opponents charging smash attacks. There are a plethora or aerials and specials and combos that could kill Corrin very early in that scenario. I think it wasn't included due to the massive punishes that you could eat.
I never really looked into the ledge traps but now I realized I got hit by all of those and I always panicked so this video helped me a ton with remaining calm and avoiding the traps. Thank you Beefy ;)

Lucario's ledge game is best out by specific characters'a get-up attacks; those which either reach back far enough before attacking, or those who have enough invincibility to completely bypass it. Otherwise, Bowser's neutral get-up sometimes gives him enough time to get through as well. Otherwise, this was a fun and very well-made video! Thanks!

Falcon has the ledge jab thingy, and if you read the roll you can fsmash for free. Not saying that this is top 5, but it might be worthy of an honorable mention because of the extra mind games you can throw into it. Also, fox has some crazy traps too

One of the many reasons I love Mewtwo. Confusion will neutralize almost any of the ledge traps mentioned, or he can just jump around them.

Robin's Projectiles, Corrin's Side-B or F-Smash, Toon Link's Projectiles and Up-b, Wario's Bike, Lucario's Aura Sphere, Duck Hunt's Projectiles, Zelda's Down-B, Game and Watch's Neutral B, and Samus's Bombs and Neutral B all deserve a mention as well, but this is a top 5, not a top 58. It seems that a lot a people don't realize this.
Bowser Jr.s up-B is so slept on, I was suprised it wasnt on this list.
Shulk's Air Slash out of shield is actually a very good option / ledge trap.
My favorite ledge get up option is to drop down, jump and preform an air attack, usually an up air or forward air

Surprised that Ryu's not on here. Between FADC being able to adjust his positioning at the ledge, FA itself and the turnaround giving him the most deadly coverage in the game, and his U-Tilt. U-Tilt catches neutral getup and jump on most characters and FADC back into U-Tilt catches rolls, if near the ledge, U-Tilt comboes into D-Air and if not, just Shoryuken.
I'm kinda disappointed that you didn't put Duck Hunt on the list not on the honorable mentions. With his can he can cover almost any getup option. Place a can by the ledge can most likely force the opponent to either roll or jump. If they roll then it can lead to a up smash or up tilt. If they jump it could lead to a u-air or n-air but if you stay by the ledge you can up tilt the can, making it switch direction an literally chase your opponent. And if they make a normal get up and shield, blasting the can on them will put them in shield stun and can make a quick grab.
I'm sorry for the rant, it's just that Duck Hunt would be great for this list.

You guys are great. Villager can also just plant the sapling at the ledge and react to getup roll with an up tilt/fsmash and water the tree in the case of neutral getup/attack or jump!
I'm surprised Samus wasn't up there. Her bomb can cover quite a few options, and her charge shot and zair can also apply great pressure.
Here's another good one: G&W's sausages spaced correctly so that the frying pan covers the roll option. It's so easy to gimp characters with a bad recovery, and in order to ever get back to the stage, you have to pay close attention to where the sausages are going. You still usually take a lot of percent..,

Robin's is so good. Arcfire, spaced correctly, covers everything but roll which you can cover with downsmash. Downsides obviously are the limit of six arcfire uses, but at worst you get a tome to throw for 18%/big shield damage.

I think Wario and Corrin at least deserve an honorable mention. Wario has both Chomp and his bike; chomp covers three getup options and the drop & attack just by holding his mouth open (getup attack, jump [with the exception of Shiek], and neutral), and his bike puts up tremendous pressure (with the bike doing like 13-17% per hit and can setup for combos), and the getup roll can just be punished by fsmash or extended hitfox waft (from bike). Corrin has her fsmash at the end of the ledge and her Dragon Lunge. Fsmash can cover every option, besides drop & attack, and her Dragon Lunge can be used on stage for good damage and covers at least two options, and it can be used offstage to punish the opponent staying on the ledge. An honorable mention for these two, and Robin, would have been proper.
Rob and the Wii trainer are the hardest characters for me me to beat. Their God damn projectile combos!!!

Kirby's Inhale is pretty good too. Especially if you're on FG and your opponent doesn't know how to button mash. You can jump off and spit them down into the corner and follow up with a gimp if they can make it back up. Or go for disrespect.

As a villager main, I've actually used that ledge trap before. But, sometimes, I read them jumping off stage, and I do likewise, axing them into the stage for a stage spike.
CPU sees the trap, CPU has a reflector, you cut down the tree, cpu mind hacks you, reflects, RIP Villager.
Almost dying but somehow making your way back to the ledge...

Good information on how to deal with these, but im suprised Ryu's up tilt wasnt an honorable mention to be honest. Good content as always though, keep it up!
I actually think that Mewtwo deserves a spot on the list, his jump cancelled up smash goes extremely far and covers all the options, his shadow balls move slow, his neutral air covers all of the options if used right and can even combo into a disable. The disadvantage is that Mewtwo has to decide which one to use.
I like using Thunder Jolts to pressure them into getting up, then using a pivot forward smash with to nail their get up. Depending on character and spacing, I might be able to cover both roll and neutral getup. Pika's forward smash is disjointed, rather fast, and can cover a decent space too, so it can be really safe even if I miss or they getup an unexpected way, and if I nail the timing and pivot just right, it works really well to catch them off guard. Not as much of a frame trape as some of these, but the pressure from jolts rolling across the ground is kind of similar to the pressure of other projectiles featured here. Something worth remembering for Pika players out there. Another weird one I like doing is short hop Thunders in between where they'd end up for the getup and the roll option. I time the short hop Thunder so that the projectile hits his body right before he lands, making the big hitbox come out just slightly in the air. If I can time it right to their getup, I can cover basically every option except dropping down. And if I have Thunder Jolts rolling over the edge? They probably won't drop down. And if I mistime their getup, making it so that Pikachu is still just barely in the air when his body is hit by lightning makes it much easier to escape if they happen to get up and shield/dodge than if I did a flat Thunder on the ground. Something a lot of people may not realize is that aerial Thunder bounces you up as it finishes, then you can safely Quick Attack away while they're stuck in shield stun. The short hop is also a feint, because it makes my opponent thing I'm doing an aerial attack, so they may feel it's safe to roll, neutral getup, or attack getup.

For the Lucario one, if you main Lucas or Ness, you can jump off ledge, airdodge through him, and then throw up PSI Magnet. You'll have to reverse the magnet if you're lucas though.

Samus has a very powerful ledge trap that deservest to be in the list. Its simply going for the tether trump and following that with a ledge release, jump and chargeshot into the stage. The Chargeshot will cover all the ledge getup options, the only safe way is to get trumped, and so it becomes a 50/50
This is why I like playing characters that can go under the stage.

I fought a Lucario like that once online. He seemed to be a worse player than me on stage one on one. That Aura Sphere charging was the only thing that made me lose the match. When we were both on the stage he had a hard time against me but as soon as I left the stage he started charging Aura Sphere and it was impossible for me to get up safely.
