Wow! This is my Dad, William Franklin Horton, the man in the middle in the black suit, white shirt and red tie. Awesome and fantastic. I never saw this before. I visited my Dad in Philly in 1994. Has died of a Heart attack. He was a great man.
My Uncle Raymond Edwards was definitely original. Dip dip dip dip dip dip dip dip boom boom boom boom boom boom get a job. That deeeeeeep voice was my Uncle Raymond!!!!Rip Unc!!!!!!
@@MsElaineLewis The brother in law was my grandfather. Many nieces and nephews. He was not only a singer. He was also a carpenter by trade!!!! He was awesome to us!!!!!!
Sorry for your loss ❤ he was very talented for sure. I was born in the early 70s but LOVE the 50s. ( born too late as they as they say) my thoughts and prayers are with you 🙏
1:35 I think the chord they hit there sounds even better than the one on the original recording. Impressive how they were still experimenting with new sounds 30 years later!
Man I'm 40 years old and I listened to these guys on Time Life cassettes of the sixties back in the day... Silhouettes and this song stand up in my opinion as one of the best songs ever performed and it is without a doubt my top 20 greatest songs of all time. Stand out ensemble, & such a good song
Adoro essa música. E claro que a descobri pelo filme "Trocando as Bolas" ou em inglês "Trading Places". Cantaram no gogó. Sem truques musicais de hoje! Essa gravação é uma relíquia. Parabéns!
Holy Hell! This is F'ing Brilliant! Thanks for sharing this. I can't believe how they sound just like the record so many decades down the line. Wonderful!
This is pure magic. I first heard this song after a night of partying and capping it off with watching "Trading Places". Well, of course we didn't make it through the movie, but I remember waking up during the credits and being like "...ah shit, that's a good tune!". I've been in love since.
They were in a Paralegal's office. His name was Chuck Rubin, he got their royalties back for them. It was a big day and they sang "Get A Job" to celebrate.
Christopher, the tenor Richard Lewis is my father. I wish he was still alive too. My dad died three days before I turned 13 in 2005 and I've been uploading these videos as a sort of tribute to him and the group. Anyway, this was from a home video that my mom recorded before I was born when traveling with them. She also used to play bass on stage at some of their shows.

True and pure talent. No autotune with this generation of artists.
I am willing to bet you would find great difficulty trying to use autotune.
30 years and many smokes later...and still sounding sharp!!!
The song still sounds as good as when they sang it in the 50's. 😎👍

I had my own version of the song. That’s what it sounded like to me as a child. Just got corrected when I looked up lyrics
Found a picture of him from 1958 with many black stars including Sam Cooke
Sam Cooke was one of my dad's favorites .
So glad random songs pop in my head and instead of digging through my collection,i put on UA-cam...This scratched my itch
I love how they are all smoking. And they are inside. Wow times really have changed quite a lot.
Used to be ashtrays in just about every business when I was a kid.
Absolute talent, one of my favourite songs growing up. This clip....no mixing desks, mics, filters, hi tech studios, just beautiful singing
Wow, Hell yes. Five Stars ☆☆☆☆☆
Best office meeting ever!
When people could actually sing without tech. Great sound
first time i heard this song was in american graffiti and i was hooked. bought the album the next day. and i was 11 years old

Pure magic and talent.
Sounds great over my tiny cellphone speaker with no pro tools, digibytes, zim zams or bip bops.
Thank you for posting this gem. This will never get lost with time. I reset my soul and sing along .

The IMPORTANCE OF A JOB!
Any context to this?
Yeah, they were in their lawyer's office, 1987, to accept a settlement payment on royalties that were never paid by the publisher.
Real music, not this rap trash that we’ve got today
So true, could not agree more.
Or Heavy Metal and Techno 👈
So cool....and Canada Dry is represented!!!!
These guys are wonderful!
Awesome
