This is an amazing video, the upgrade looks much easier than I imagined it would be. I already have a Rancilio steam wand on my ECP3420, would that in any way change how I'd need to configue the PID controller?
Ok I’m installing my upgrade right now. In my kit the extra 2 gromits are included. So should I use them? I’m curious why you decided against using them.
I'm sure it's possible! The question is whether the kit will be 100% compatible. My guess is that either all or 90% of the parts will transfer over. You'll need to do some research. Thank you for the question and best of luck!
@@christopherwilson2272 i think the problems are the free space like you said ,the front panels knobs because they are connected with the same tape wires also i dont know where is located the thermostat on the thermoblock! In this machine there is a thermostat on the pump!!! If anyone makes this job it will be the wold best seller!!! And as we know the dedica has something like pid because you can choose between three different temperature settings!
I used what came with the drill from harbor freight. I didn't want to spend so much on a drill / drillbit combo when it's only used for 2 holes. I tried using a thick plastic hole punch but that didn't work. I'm sure there's a better way but for only $6 added cost I think it's a great option.
@@Axer01250 I understand that. But the sensor that is used there as a handmade one does not exist for sale. Or use a much worse option with a stainless steel fastener, because of which there will be large losses in accuracy, and the whole point is lost. But I don’t have the knowledge or equipment to do it myself. I will be glad if you record your video guide on creation.
I'm so happy that I found this. I started making minor upgrades to my ECP machine and I just found this kit.
Glad to be of help marco!
You are an absolute legend for making this
You mention using “autotune” on the PID but then you never mention how to put the unit into autotune. Can you clarify that?
Pro tip make one of the white wires for the PID with a sharpie so you don’t have to worry about it so much
Does it also work on the Europe model?

If it's just a steam wand, I don't think it'd make much of a difference for the PID controller settings.
Is it possible to adjust the PID parameters only based on the three codes on the case, or can other settings be accidentally made?
How do you configure the autotune?

I installed the upgrade kit on delonghi 35.31 from Europe and the pid. is not powered
your power tap needs to be adjusted

Thank you tom! I am no expert videographer or video editor! I tried my best so I appreciate that you liked it. Thank you for the kind words!

@@vagkog Free space may be challenging, you may need to get creative! If there is no room, the parts can always go outside of the machine!
will this work for Delonhi ec230 machine?
Is this Delonghi upgrade kit identical to the Gagia Pro?
no
What is the thermal paste for? Seems like that adhesive strip sticks out further than the paste does
its overkill, not techincally needed.
Why not use the correct size drill bit the first time instead of jamming a flat head in the hole after to make it bigger?

What is Souf?
What's the price? In what markets is it represented?
It's $150. North America.

Lol change your smoke alarm.
This is an electrical engineering nightmare.
Horrible installation procedure also.
