That's true. They wanted to copy the success of the JUMP STREET movies. However, those were parodies, while BAYWATCH and CHIPS weren't. If they had been, maybe they would've been less bad but still bad. CHIPS because it would be too similar to JUMP STREET; BAYWATCH because it's been parodied to death for almost 30 years.
I think what you meant to say is that the Baywatch and Chips film adaptations bombed because THEY'RE FUCKING BAYWATCH AND CHIPS FILM ADAPTATIONS. Jesus Christ who as a moviegoer even wants this shit anymore? Unique ideas are a rare currency in Hollywoodland these days. God help us all.
I saw yesterday at night Fifty Shades Darker. And, not only it was obvious that Dornan and Johnson hate each other in real life, but also that the director made so many plot holes and continuity errors (because I also went through the torture of reading the three books), that I feel I lost 10 IQ points after watching it. If that is #2, then I should fear what The Emoji Movie would do to my brains (because I haven't seen it, and I think I'll never will)
Was it bad because there wasn't enough scenes for horny to jack off to or was it because the couples who watched it got horny and they forgot to put a condom on just curious :P
Austin-Tyler Why not do the one that's critically panned not box office records or fail to meet fan expectation. Honestly I like one movie off this list and it's Rings (2017) and I don't care what most people say about it
Col.mustard_, agreed. It’s not bad but it’s not the worst thing ever. It was entertaining, the action was pretty good and the character interactions were great, especially between WW and Batman.
#10 The Emoji Movie #9 The Emoji Movie #8 The Emoji Movie #7 The Emoji Movie #6 The Emoji Movie #5 The Emoji Movie #4 The Emoji Movie #3 The Emoji Movie #1 The Emoji Movie
I loved the first two Mummy movies with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. Even if this Mummy had been the best movie ever made, I'd never have gone to see it.
47Cartoonguy: Better late than never. Jumacas666: The series of spin-offs was announced before the release of THE LAST KNIGHT. If BUMBLEBEE disappoints too, maybe they won't make any more movies.
Vits Vicente Torres I hope it does. TLK's underperformance was a great chance to wipe the slate cleanand reboot, but they're going ahead and making more crap with the same hack team nevertheless. I hope audiences turn their back for good.
The Emoji movies main fault: it was marketed as a family movie everyone could enjoy, when in reality it was only funny to kids 7-and-under. Mine and everyone else’s young kids were laughing the whole time in the theatre.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword as an honorable mention?! Am I the only one who thought that was extremely underrated movie? Sure it's not great, but I liked the more blue collar approach to Arthur, and the much different way the story is presented for the Arthurian legend.
By different to the Arthurian legend, do you mean only using the names King Arthur and Excalibur, because that's the only things the film and stories have in common.

prmatthew2 well, I'll tell you about Snatched. Amy Schumer may not be the funniest woman in comedy, but this film doesn't give her much redemption. (My mom wanted me to watch it with her, but I prayed she would forget about it.)
Chris Bledsoe Well they put Book Of Henry on which alot of people thought was great but that was in the dishonorable mentions so we dont know why it was bad
Mojo, there are two things wrong with that toilet paper analogy: 1. Emojis and toilet paper barely have anything in common! Do we use toilet paper to communicate? Do we use emojis to clean ourselves in the restroom? I hope not! And let’s be honest, toilet paper isn’t a big part of social media and emojis aren’t a big part of the real world outside of the digital world! Emojis and toilet paper are two completely different things, so they should be spoken about differently! 2. Don’t give them ideas! Someone might actually make a toilet paper movie if they watch this video! And you don’t want that, right? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go apply for a job at Hollywood so I could be the director of a brand new animated film about the secret life of toilet paper!
I knew the Emoji movie was going to be #1. It sucks, and the worst part is that Sony is going to try to make a meme movie. What's Sony trying to do, make a cinematic universe with things on the Internet? For goodness sake Hollywood, STOP TRYING TO BE MARVEL!!!!!
And you couldn't believe a movie version of Popeye (which looked very promising judging by the trailer) was scrapped in order to make that 90 minute advertisement.
"...and boasted another easy-on-the-eyes star with a track record at the box office (that would be Zac Efron)" lol wut?! Almost everything he's been in has been a flop. He's more likely to be box office poison. Let's put it this way - Blade Runner 2049 bombed at the box office, while Fifty Shades Darker made a decent profit. It's definitely not an indicator if you ask me!
my list 10. the emoji movie 9.the emoji movie 8.the emoji movie 7.the emoji movie 6.the emoji movie 5.the emoji movie 4.the emoji movie 3.the emoji movie 2.the emoji movie 1.the emoji movie
Well, Fifty Shades of Grey, think of the source material, it's abuse, it glorifies abuse, and that is supposed to be something that makes us drive to the cinema in droves? They're the worst on-screen couple, because abusive couples are horrible, you can't really blame the actor and actress, when the source material advocates for abuse, that's what it is, and don't give me this BS about consenting adults.
It is. And I don't even like it calling it a movie at all. In fact, it's pretty much an insult to pretty much every other movie to rank it among them because it's all product placement and no plot.
Star Fart5 Than you clearly haven't seen the Shack. The Shack is the definition of EXTREMELY, UBER, 9/11 LIKE BAD!!! That movie was so terrible, it made all other bad movies look awesome, EVEN THE EMOJI MOVIE WAS BETTER THAN THE SHACK!!!!!
Geostorm? Bye Bye Man? Naked? Belko Experiment? Free Fire? You didn't putted this disasters, and you put King Arthur, which was in my opinion pretty good
Filmoljubac My whole audience in the theater I saw Geostorm in which was surprisingly packed clapped at the end and a lot of people liked it which I was confused well it wasn't terrible and I had a lot of fun but your right The Bye Bye Man and The Snowman should of been on here instead of King Arthur which I liked
Yeah i really liked King Arthur, definitely not one of the worst... only one of the few movies i saw in cinema this year and it was actually worth the money!
Here's my shit list of 2017: Resident Evil: The Final Chapter Fifty Shades Darker The Emoji Movie The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature The Boss Baby Death Note (Netflix) Rings Baywatch Rock Dog
I've heard that Fifty Shades of Grey used to be a Twilight fan fiction. Whoever thought that THING (it is not even worthy to be called a book) was worth publishing was really drunk.
It’s said over again here that while some of these movies made money, they were panned by the critics. Why is this relevant, and what makes critics opinions more significant than others?
Movies I *hated* in 2017: The Emoji Movie Resident Evil: The Final Chapter The Circle Rings Fifty Shades Darker The Star Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul Rock Dog A Cure For Wellness The Book of Henry Baywatch The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature The Mummy The House Snatched The Boss Baby Leatherface Jigsaw The Bye Bye Man Death Note (Netflix) Justice League
Sooo... Yeah. I just seen Justice League. And it's really by-the-numbers, dull, and underwhelming. And I liked Transformers: The Last Knight, of all things.
Those “it didn’t feel like a King Arthur movie and the director failed to bring the nostalgia ” Yeah bruh, that was the point. Everyone from the cast and crew said it wasn’t going to be a simple retelling
The Emoji Movie is at number 1. I'm calling it right now.
Edit: CALLED IT!
who didn't? this movie is what the lego movie could have been if one cared
Before watching I’m gonna call it: Emoji Movie is #1
you guessed ıt
Speaking as an animator, this was an embarrassing year for film animation.
Jonathan Cena yay good for you
Jonathan Cena Bitch you guessed it! Whooo! You was right!
Wallace Phillips there were a few gems, but this year was nothing when compared to 2016
I KNEW the emoji movie would be at #1
M&H Racing, yeah, me too.
M&H Racing oh, you’re here! Great videos from you!
M&H Racing lol we all did
I didn't think Emoji Movie would make it on this list. I thought it was good
Who didn't
2017 was the year of reboots and remakes that literally nobody asked for or wanted
Gypsy Danger including crossover movies everyone thought was the end of the world
Right specially the ring and bay watch
Gypsy Danger yup
Universal studio execs: We`re sorry, it`s just..... (sniffles) there`s just......so much success that other films MAKE!
Yet we got the new Ducktales reboot
Before I even watch the video I'm going to bet that number 1 is The Emoji movie!!!
You weren't wrong
You called it, buddy
Same
I would have bet 20 million bucks on it. Good thing I was right!
Same here
My internet died when you began to talk about the Emoji Movie and I had to swap over to my data. My internet knows when I'm looking at garbage.
My battery died at The Mummy
Fluffymiyster
Albert James Danke, mistake corrected :)
Baywatch and ChiPs bombed because they took TV-PG type shows that were fun and light-hearted and made them into raunchy Rated-R comedies.
I hate it when they do that.
And turn their characters into retarded morons
But honestly. Who was waiting on a bay watch movie or a chips movie?
I think what you meant to say is that the Baywatch and Chips film adaptations bombed because THEY'RE FUCKING BAYWATCH AND CHIPS FILM ADAPTATIONS. Jesus Christ who as a moviegoer even wants this shit anymore? Unique ideas are a rare currency in Hollywoodland these days. God help us all.
Diary of A Wimpy Kid 4: Not My Rodrick
Lol
Still has me laughing 6 years later
Either Fifty Shades Darker or The Emoji Movie are going to get the Razzie for worst movie of 2017.
223Drone I don't think the Razzies have ever given an award to an animated movie before, but this is one year where they must do it.
+Thania Hernandez Thumbalina, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return are animated films that got nominated for Razzie Awards.
YES PLEASE! Those 2 were the Worst!
As soon as I found out "The Emoji Movie" was #1, I went "Yes!"
Me too
I think everyone expected "The Emoji Movie" to be #1.
I don't even count it as a movie at all, just a feature-length commercial.
I knew it was gonna be #1, only because of the hate it got. It's this year's "Norm of the North". (not even kidding)
Same here!
We all saw the emoji movie coming......
Where's The Bye Bye Man? That movie is shit and it came out in 2017!
AManWithAUsername It was a hit still.
Austin-Tyler Why not do the one that's critically panned not box office records or fail to meet fan expectation. Honestly I like one movie off this list and it's Rings (2017) and I don't care what most people say about it
AManWithAUsername that is true bad ending
AManWithAUsername rings is number 3 best horror movie 2017 Mother! And Bye Bye Man suck especially Bye Bye Man
AManWithAUsername I liked Byebye man
Soo many idiots saying where is justice league. Simple : It wasn't bad, a mediocre at worst.
Col.mustard_, agreed. It’s not bad but it’s not the worst thing ever. It was entertaining, the action was pretty good and the character interactions were great, especially between WW and Batman.
I agree as well. I didn't think it was awful. If anything the fight scenes were good and that last part got me
Going into this video, I predicted that Fifty Shades Darker and The Emoji Movie were going to be the top two worst films.

Nice one
Thank God Power Rangers (2017) wasn't in at least the dishonorable mentions.
Yeah cause that movie was good.
I love that film
The Dark Tower wasn't bad. It just wasn't very good. It definitely doesn't deserve a spot on this list.
WatchMojo.com only looks at critic reviews. Fan reviews... not so much.
Dracula Untold wasn't perfect, but it was MUCH better than the Mummy. Universal was stupid to abandon it for the launch pad of the Dark Universe.
I loved the first two Mummy movies with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. Even if this Mummy had been the best movie ever made, I'd never have gone to see it.
I thought the mummy would be a least ok but was so bad that I lost faith in their dark universe before it could even start.
Actually agree.
It’s a shame it took Transformers 5 for audiences to go, “Ok we’re done with this shit”
And they're still not done with this shit... Bumblebee movie is coming out and Paramount signed a new 5 year deal with Hasbro. Absolute madmen.
I don't even pay to watch that crap I just find it online
The Dark Tower=first time I ever walked out of the cinema before the movie ended😑
Really it was that bad?😂🤣😂😂
Did you know "The Room" has a better rotten tomatoes rating than "The Emoji Movie"????
I assumed every movie released this year does
Well, Tommy Wiseau was at least passionate about his pet project. The Emoji Movie was just made to make money.
You're tearing me apart Lisa!
Emoji movie will be #1
Dizney And it was
Who the f actually watched 50 shades and Transformers you could tell they were going to suck.
Novad selir transformers the last knight was acrually good but not as good as the third film and the original
I'm going to call it, The Emoji Movie is #1
Edit: CALLED IT!!!
The Emoji movies main fault: it was marketed as a family movie everyone could enjoy, when in reality it was only funny to kids 7-and-under.
Mine and everyone else’s young kids were laughing the whole time in the theatre.
Doctor Cthulhu It was literally 1.5 hours of commercials.
Yeah some movies are really geared towards kids. I remember liking Space Jam as a child. Now i just watch it for Lola Bunny (im joking)
King Arthur: Legend of the sword was good
I managed to avoid all these movies! Yay for me!
Cordyceps Again,Yay for me!
Good news everyone! Fifty Shades Freed will be the last movie because it is the last book in the series!
Jessica Rabbit thank the author!
Yes thank you E.L Stine for not making anymore of your crap!
Jessica Rabbit he can easily write a new one
E..L Stine is a woman actually and yeah maybe..
🎉🎉🎉
Thank God they didn't add Justice League I was beginning to worry.
Now this is the real Top 10 Worst Movies in 2017 :D
Stephen Bryant what's the fake top 10?
Not it's not. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is nowhere here. So it FAILS.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword as an honorable mention?! Am I the only one who thought that was extremely underrated movie? Sure it's not great, but I liked the more blue collar approach to Arthur, and the much different way the story is presented for the Arthurian legend.
Dormammu It got in honourable mention because it was neither good nor bad however it was slightly lacklustre
By different to the Arthurian legend, do you mean only using the names King Arthur and Excalibur, because that's the only things the film and stories have in common.
Dormammu i couldn't agree more!they movies and differnt story peresent are worst as godzill1996!
I coundt agree more! Its different and I loved that
I liked the movie. it wasn't the best thing ever. but the weekend it was released was smack dab in the middle of really popular and over hyped movies.

Where is "The Bye Bye Man"? Literally THE worst horror movie I have ever seen.

please stop referring to 'rotten tomatoes'
That website has gone downhill.
Austin Dickerson what else are they gonna use? Metacritic? IMDb? (I'm not saying they're bad, but a but complicated for the casual person IMO)
+log out next time I use IMDB. Metacritic has a scoring scale that tells what the reviews mean.
Nothing is as bad as the emoji movie

Death Note Netflix

Rotten tomato and other critics do not tear apart movies, they are actually very honest!
Like EXTREMELY honest
Stone cold Steve austin but not everyone cares what Rotten tomatoes thinks especially not me
And out of all these in the list, King Arthur may actually be considered as a decent movie.
I would prefer to watch the toilet paper movie, than the emoji movie!

All I can say is: The sooner we shut down the Bay-formers franchise, the sooner we can get it rebooted with a director who makes films worth watching.
@Sonny Oliver Cortez That one wasn't Bay.
I just came to read the comments
Lol
I felt so annoyed when Brendan wasn’t in The Mummy.
*sees Emoji Movie as #1*
“Do you agree with our picks?”
For the first time... yea, I actually do
Good list, but King Arthur was good (imo)
You forgot Flatliners.
Everyone forgot Flatliners.
Yeah that Beyond: Two souls film sequel was terrible.
I was so excited for that movie and the beggining seemed really good but the delivery was awful and they could've done so much more with the plot
areasevenpro Also The Bye Bye Man
THAT WAS SOOOOO GOOD AND AWESOME
I totally forgot about The Emoji Movie as I was seeing the list, and was thinking "what could possibly be #1"?
Nuntius O me too
I don't think so emoji is very worst
So... what was bad about The Circle? Was it the story, characters, tone, theme, acting, slap in the face message or what 😐
It's a bad film. Poor execution, bad writing, acting, editing, directing.
I like the concept
Geckoguy YT me too.
Lizafoot For5 the story
Definitely Not Tommy Wiseau Everything you said was bad was actually good.
I liked the movie.

Box office receipts are NO indicator of a movie's worth or lack thereof.
Let's put it this way - Blade Runner 2049 bombed at the box office, while Fifty Shades Darker made a decent profit. It's definitely not an indicator if you ask me!
Well, except that poor box office numbers indicate that people weren't interested in seeing it -- so it actually is a legit metric...

They're the worst on-screen couple, because abusive couples are horrible, you can't really blame the actor and actress, when the source material advocates for abuse, that's what it is, and don't give me this BS about consenting adults.
we all saw emoji movie coming to number 1
My prediction: Emoji movie is #1
No My Little Pony: The Movie? How is this possible? Half of the celebrity voiced characters don't even do anything in the movie.
I think that was just to draw in people who weren't fans without taking away focus on the Mane Six.
My little pony: The movie was good.
The Emoji movie sucks so badly
Worst animated film of all time!!!!
only saw the new The Mummy for nostalgic reasons...loved the first 2 but this one was stupid.
King Arthur was awesome!!!
Bitten_By_Frost king Arthur sucked too
that's your opinion, i actually liked it!
Bitten_By_Frost it's cool it's if don't think too much about the plot
Bitten_By_Frost your opinion is shit and need change it, go watch Excalibur (1981). It's way more better than King Arthur
Bitten_By_Frost uh... you forgot the third one Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Let me guess the emoji movie is number 1
random stuff yep. Not surprising.
It is. And I don't even like it calling it a movie at all. In fact, it's pretty much an insult to pretty much every other movie to rank it among them because it's all product placement and no plot.
Yep.
“It’s a knucklehead!”
Me: (takes book from shelf and starts banging my head on it)
Why don't you just read the book? It's why they were invented.
*Oh ya totally cause when a movie gets a low score that definitely makes it a bad film* _(Obvious Sarcasm is Sarcasm)_
I’m glad I didn’t watch Baywatch, The Dark Tower, Transformers, or The Emoji Movie.
Why. Because others said it was bad? There are many movies critics rated bad but I enjoyed it. Next time make your own decisions.
Major Flash-Backs no because I don’t find them interesting.
The Emoji Movie deserved to be number 1.
Sithbuster5 well the emoji movie is the no.1 worst and crappiest movie ever cuz I didn’t like it either
We all knew the emoji movie was going to be bad but... how...do...you...get...so...bad...
Bobby Stephen Haven't seen Snowman, and I don't even plan
Yeah i really liked King Arthur, definitely not one of the worst... only one of the few movies i saw in cinema this year and it was actually worth the money!
Yup emoji was worst
aurjun tamang Indeed. If you paid attention to the trailer, it was basically Wreck It Ralph's plot.
aurjun tamang was the worst
An the youtube rewind???
nicolas edgar ore herrera were talking about bad movies, not bad you tube videos.
Whats Wrong
"King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" was not amazing but it definitely doesn't deserve to be on this list.............
3: Transformers: The Last Knight
2: Fifty Shades Darker
1: The Emoji Movie
Jack Bat don't worry. The Bumblebee movie is not directed by Michael Bay, it's directed by Travis Knight.
I don't know why everyone hates baywatch it was hilarious
Moral of the story
Never hype for anything
Utroliver except infinity wars
And nutting
i'm so glad you didn't put Justice League on the list. Thank you so much.
Here's my shit list of 2017:
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
Fifty Shades Darker
The Emoji Movie
The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature
The Boss Baby
Death Note (Netflix)
Rings
Baywatch
Rock Dog
I actually thought that Rings was an alright movie, but it's nowhere near as good as the first movie.
It is not even the end of December yet!
I've heard that Fifty Shades of Grey used to be a Twilight fan fiction. Whoever thought that THING (it is not even worthy to be called a book) was worth publishing was really drunk.
i dont think baywatch should be on the list, becasue its bad, but its entertaining
Where is Resident evil: The final chapter and Geostorm?? These movies are so bad!!
It’s said over again here that while some of these movies made money, they were panned by the critics. Why is this relevant, and what makes critics opinions more significant than others?
Echo _360 I know right I loved Baywatch,how could u not
Everyone hated The Emoji Movie, though. Not just critics.
Movies I *hated* in 2017:
The Emoji Movie
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
The Circle
Rings
Fifty Shades Darker
The Star
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul
Rock Dog
A Cure For Wellness
The Book of Henry
Baywatch
The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature
The Mummy
The House
Snatched
The Boss Baby
Leatherface
Jigsaw
The Bye Bye Man
Death Note (Netflix)
Justice League
Matthew Cool put justice league in the list here also
+DefientBoss941 I didn't see it.
Sooo... Yeah. I just seen Justice League.
And it's really by-the-numbers, dull, and underwhelming. And I liked Transformers: The Last Knight, of all things.
in my opinion, i would add my little pony the movie and the snowman. overall, i agree with the list.
+gemvega 22 Never seen The Snowman. And as for MLP, I thought it was decent for what it was. But that's just me.
King Arthur is maybe one of the most underrated movie of the year
I keep saying that.
Agreed... It wasnt that bad
Yeah I enjoyed it too. I guess it just underperformed because not many people knew about it and it overshadowed at the box office
Those “it didn’t feel like a King Arthur movie and the director failed to bring the nostalgia ”
Yeah bruh, that was the point. Everyone from the cast and crew said it wasn’t going to be a simple retelling
