Excellent 👌 good work
Thank you 👍👍
Thanks for making the video, like you said, "The go-pro was a poor choice. I got most of the gist but will need to see another 1
great 'how to' video,,, thankyou :)
Thank you 👍
Is there any thing special or extra in the rear for removing the liner from a VE Sportwagon. Cheers
Not really, just remove its rear rectangle panel at the back, behind that will be two screws to remove, then drop down the back.of the headliner board, which is held in by some clips/locator .
Very similar process as the VE sedan
What size is the roof lining
Just had my roof liner done by a company in Brisbane. They broke the internal plastic frame that surrounds and holds the Center lights/console in front of the windscreen. They Said it’s was all perished. Do you know if it’s easy to find a replacement part for this? I have a 2016 Caprice, I believe earlier models will also fit? Thanks.
If it's just the front section around the sunglasses console, black plastic bracket, they can be found easily via wreckers, VE VF WM all the same. They are usually quite strong and never break unless incorrectly removed with force.
@@ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs yeah that’s the part. He’s said the same thing, but reckons mine was perished, hmm🤔.
Thanks for the quick reply, I’ll try hunt one down now.
I have a 2014 Caprice and was a little concerned about removing the third brake light. After watching your video it seems simpler than I thought. Just pull down on the edges right? You made it look too easy!
There is two metal clips that need to be released by pulling down on the unit evenly and gently.
Rear roof brake light needs to be usually removed first by dropping down the headliner so you can get up there behind to to undo 2 -3 screws, (sometimes the 3rd middle screw is missing and instead the manufacturer used pop rivets).
Thanks for the quick reply, I will be attempting this soon
no way man, just pulled out my headliner about a week ago in my ve... what a shame i didnt see this video first. coincidentally followed the exact same method you used (mostly through a little reasoning) Just a few questions, my experience taking it out, feeding the headlining board out of the a and b pillar was rather uncomfortable as I had to flex it quite a lot. do you know why this is? its almost like my headliner was a little bigger than yours shown.. also, i didnt use a spray because i didnt have a canister, and so i had a few problems, some glue showed up through showing white patches, and some of the fabric looks as if it has been pushed in a little, kind of hard to describe. do you have any tips as to how to attack this issue? thanks!!!
i would rather not replace the material again, i was going to either soak it in a little warm water, and if that doesnt work, rubbing alcohol. thanks again
Usually the glue stains through the fabric if you are reusing existing fabric or fabric without no foam backing.
The headliners can be difficult to flex out of pillars without experience, however usually I'm able to combine methods like sliding the headliner back further away from pillars before the flex. Also knowing the tolerance of how much a headliner board can bend helps.
A good spray glue to use is Permatex Headliner Adhesive

@@ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs nah i just used a sponge as an alternative to a spray glue, and i think i put on too much glue in certain areas which is why it showed through, i used good fabric bought from an upholstery and car trimmings store. and they recommended the glue for the job, i just needed a spray gun for it to be used optimally. thanks any how. i will most likely just chuck it into the car for now and some time down the road pay someone to do it again for me lol. thanks for the response!
Can you do mine ?
