- Another year at Orlando Hamcation, 2023, this time I brought the RV and stayed on the campground. This year, I was a ham again, just a plain old ham like last year. I didn't spend too much of my time making videos of all the commercial booths. I just wanted to explore hamfest and enjoy it. Check out the other UA-cam channels who do a great job showing all the latest and greatest. All links are below:

CB at the 2nd biggest hamfest in the country. wow, so cool.
Thanks for the video. Our hamfest was canceled sadly. Marietta Georgia. Disappointed isn't the word I'd use
I enjoy both cb and ham for years now. I got my start in cb back in 1973. Yeah cb does have “lids” as do Ham Radio. Cb is radio and a hobby as is Ham Radio. I’ve have seen jerks on both.
Enjoy radio be it cb or ham.

That some cool stuff, priceless treasures...
Thank you for sharing
Take care
Forget about those that have sticks shoved up their butts
Lots of stuff.. wow.. Hay.. work on slow pans and steady not shaky camera.
I have a MAT tuner for my 705 and I love it! I did a video on it on my YT channel. People were loving to hate it because of 1 bad review by Julian about the batteries not lasting. That's because they ship them with bad crappy batteries. I ordered quality rechargeable batteries and they STILL are working about a year later with no additional charge! It's a NICE piece of gear for the price!
I usually stay in the RV section for the entire weekend and can confirm it is a great way to experience a hamfest. Unfortunately, this year I was only able to come up on Friday. Several of the vendors I wanted to purchase from were AWOL and the crowds were light. I thought it would pick up on Saturday but from your video it appears that did not happen. Next stop is Dayton (actually Xenia) and hope I can find what I am looking for there. Thanks for another great video. 73 de K4RS.
What is this world coming to? The sacrilege of talking about "Convoy" without partaking in it. Eric your love for CB got m into HAM. Tou have got to vault yourself above the "youtube" pack, partake in the greatest Citizen Band Radio movie of all time along with 11 long-haired Friends of Jesus in a chartreuse microbus. 🙂 KO4AYE aka "The Cricket" says, keep it wall to wall and treetop tall, catch you on the flip side good buddy.
I want to attend this one of these coming years when I can get some time off from work, great vid. 73's KD2ANN
Convoy great movie with Kris Kristofferson who was robber duck.
I know you are stuck with licensed UA-cam music but pick some different stuff next time please.
Sure thing. Maybe I should have just included the horrible wind blown audio that you couldn't understand as I walked through the show, that would have been as exciting as FT8
Personally, I have no use for C.B. radios. I left it behind 50 years ago when the service became "children's band", and the FCC just threw their hands up and walked away from it. Even though there's a large percentage of CB folks finding their way into amateur radio, unfortunately bad operating practices, pseudo techno babble and poor manners are coming over as well. I think hams need to steer completely away from CB; don't cozy up to it, don't coddle the crowd or the radios. It offers nothing except maybe .01% utility in an emergency. But for the remaining 99.99% of CB, it's as pure as yellow snow.
Wow with that comment like that I can sincerely tell you to go fuck yourself.
We have our share of poor operators too. But I do agree. When cb’ers were licensed, it was a source of pride. There are some who take it seriously and try. But by an large it’s become a bar fight. Did the fcc get defunded?
I find more polite people with more decorum on 11 meters than I do on any amateur band. Operating with in the normal frequency spectrum of the 11 meter band, yes there are a ton of jerks out there.. But just go up or below the standard 40, and you will find operators from all over the world who conduct themselves in a very professional manner. Its all radiio.. And being a frequency elitist not cool. I have some fine recordings of amateur operators on 7200, and 3927 that will make you blush. Is that the spirit of amateur radio?
@@KQ4JGS but it's not technically legal to go to said frequencies in the US
@@lizzyfan1986 Hot tip.. No one cares anymore. People have been doing it for years and years. FCC does not have the resources to police 11 meters.
I like that CB stuff. I still mess around with it. I got my start there. Why set limits on yourself. Really cool seeing all those UA-camrs. I follow some of them. De n5vwn
