- Rappler multimedia reporter John Sitchon takes a quick tour to Sagbayan Peak in Sagbayan town, Bohol-a tourist attraction only 10 minutes away from the controversial Captain’s Peak Resort that’s built within the protected areas of the Chocolate Hills. Locals and concerned netizens point out that the Sagbayan Peak is built on top of a mound that can be considered a Chocolate Hill.

Once that resort is allowed to exist, other resorts businesses will follow and if that happens, chocolate hills natural beauty will be gone

Deck view is fine for me, but not that kind of resort.

I agree that Captain's Peak Garden Resort is destroying the beauty of Chocolalte hills. It is ugly to see. The virginity of this natural wonders is gone. And once they let this resort operate, not only one or many or plenty will get interested to follow the idea to build everywhere within this wonderful Chocolate Hills. Please don't let them destroy it. If deck view, I think this is acceptable.

Sa ibang bansang, grabe ang pag iingat sa mga ganyang lugar. Samantalang sa atin, jusko. Kaya minsan masasabi mo na bakit sa ibang bansa nagawa nilang ipreserve ang kultura, natural parks and anything that symbolises their country. Samantalang sa atin, halos wala nang kultura dahil nagpakain na sa banyaga. Tapos pag dating ng panahon, sasabihin natin "Noong araw, kaganda ng lugar na ito". Pano naman, walang pagpapahalaga. Sabi nga sa kanta, hindi masama ang pag-unlad....ngunit tingnan mo ang tubig sa dagat.
Ang Japan, napakaganda. Halos preserved ang mga bagay bagay dahil may pagpapahalaga sila. Kaya sinasabi tuloy ng ibang bansa na naging civilized lang tayo nang sakupin tayo ng Espanyol, pano, wala tayong pagpapahalaga sa mga lumang bagay at mga bagay na pagkakakilanlan natin bilang isang bansa at bilang Pilipino.

the DOT should have a semi annual or annual inspection of all tourist n especially Heritage sites including the LGUs who issues the certification n compliance all over the country...there should be a strict implementation of the laws...case be filed against the uglification og a Heriage site, just asking..

walang pagmamahal sa kalikasan ang mga taong kinomercialize ang Chocolate Hills disregarding the fact that the area is a protected Heriage site....the owners knowing this information still proceeded to construct a resort even some certificate were not complied with....a small part ot the hill was flattened to accomodate the construction...even if the area flattened is small, this is still a serious violation... ignorance of the law excuses no one....yhe owner should have done a thorough research before starting construction n shoul have completed all the necessary paper works..the DENR, DOT, LGUs concerned should have been more pro active in protecting our Heritage sites especially Chocolate Hills w/c was declared a UNESCO Heritage Site

Sounds like a easy fix to an oversite of government concldering that Captains pike isnt part of the protected areas as I understand it .
Kung approve ng provincial board governor,mayor,city council,barangays the public,denr may ecc then its all legal.
Pag walang ecc Hindi aprubado ng province Lalo na Ang governor,provincial board,mayor,mga konsehal,barangay at ang publiko....then may problema.

Everything in its natural state is better . Its so sad that a natural wonder like the chocolate hills are being ruined and made to look ugly . Obviously someone has bribe someone to allow this to happen . Very very sad .

Hmm. Is every "Chocolate Hill" in Bohol protected or does some hill belong to a private land? Because if that is the case, the owner can do whatever tf he wants with the land
