I have the same exact bike and have followed your lead on installing the skid plate and tip over bars. Am thinking about the Ohlins suspension next. Again, great content!
Thank you so much! Im stoked for you! They look sick and are all great insurance for the bike. If you go with the Ohlins you will love it! They just released a new version with all black hardware and hosing. Im bummed I missed that by a couple months lol
These ones were not bad at all. When I installed my Thrashin Shorty brake arm, the bolts on the floorboards were insanely tight. I tossed some blue loctite back on all of them.
I like that you’re direct and to the point. The bigger bolts you said are 5/16ths. What about the smaller one? My skid plate arrived last week and I will need to install it as soon as I get a chance.
@@Lous-Clues I believe it is a 5/32! Sorry about that I grabbed that fast and didn’t even look at the size. I just double checked. That bolt is very very easy to get out. Mine was actually a bit looser than I would have liked from the factory. Thanks for watching!
@@Lous-Clues Yes I did. Im at 3300 miles right now. I need to run through it again and check the bolts. I checked many of them around 1500 miles. Goodjob on keeping everything tight
Thanks for the video. I got a 24 SG and will get the black skid plate. If you have a second to discuss your garage floor.....That floor is what I am looking to do for my garage. I know it is hot in Vegas and I am in Metro Houston. We got the heat, humidity and dew points. The garage gets really hot in the summer. Did you paint the garage floor? Did it take forever to cure? Any issues with the paint peeling? Thanks!
@@GAPalmer hey there and thanks for watching! I’m actually renting this house and it came this way so I can’t give you too much information regarding the floor. My garage gets pretty warm in summer. Make sure you insulate your door if possible too. Mine isn’t but I know that helps tremendously!
@@charliegraham7708 the 2023.5 CVOs and 2024 road and street glides have several wire looms and a massive connector right behind the radiator where this skid plate goes. They are exposed to anything you may run over with your front wheel. There’s already been at least one person who ran over something that shot up and ripped all his wiring so this is cheap insurance when you’re 1000 miles from home.
@@_goseeit got it thank you, pick up my Road glide this weekend, I’m in the UK but just planning a trip to the Eurofestival next year in Port Grimaud, will see if we can get the plates over here yet
Why install a skid plate you ask... Riding in an area of heavy trucking a piece of steel from a truck somehow Manage to hit the engine case of my 08 electraglide. It punctured the case causing massive loss of oil. So 8,000.00 later for a new factory fresh 110 with some cases and labor I know the answer to your question. Road debris!

Just wondering, how difficult was it to loosen the large bolts? Were they super tight? I've heard people had a tough time with those. Thanks 😎

Hope I can get em loose 😅 Thanks
