I would add an element of anti-bulling to the storyline too. Children's books should always have a moral or several morals element to the storyline.

Well I was thinking about pranks that are more brotherly in nature. I don't see the main character as particularly oppressed by his sister, he just gets pranked and outsmarted every once in a while by his big sister.

I like your anti-bullying idea! But in some way I think this moral already comes between the lines, as the boy in the end decides it's better to try bringing joy than fear to the people. May be more subtle but I think it still applies as an "anti-bullying" message. ^v^
