I've been needing a tutorial like this for a while bc I would love to do more night scenes and just to improve my semi-bland art overall

What if I don't want to switch to night? What if there are no sharp lights around?

Hi! As I said in the video, it doesn't really matter what lights should be there. even in some of the movie examples I show there is light showing up that shouldn't be there. but it is before it helps the picture. I know that "make up a light" sound counter intuitive, but I'm also sure that there are artists you admire that do this all the time.
One weird example is a videogame called "horizon: forbidden west". For their cutscenes they add a "cinematic light" that is just a rim light on the characters. There is no light source for that rim light but it just makes the cutscene looks better. And sometimes, that's all you need.

@@Javicandraw Sometimes. =) Don't get too addicted to rim light, it's just a trick. Plus at daytime you do the same accent with shadows. The masters I admire never used it. ;)

@@RedGallardo Oh I know, it doesn't go with EVERY situation, but more often than not, it helps!
