The sad part is the real history, Lu Bu was so undefeatable on the battlefield, Cao Cao paid some traitors in his army to tie him up after a drunken party.
PLZ stop spreading BS, Lu Bu was being beseiged by Cao Cao, because when he sallyed forth with 1000 calvary to engage Cao Cao's vanguard of similar strength, he was very quickly defeated so he ran back to his city and ranted on his officers. Who feared Lu Bu will excute them because he was going paranoid, so they tied him up to Cao Cao. If Lu Bu had his chill and waited for another 2 months, Cao Cao would lift the seige to resupply. If he had his chill in the first place, he would not have been branded as a traitor and be attacked by Cao Cao. Since Lu Bu was a opptrunistic ahole who kissed up to Yuan Shu who created a new dynasty of Chong. This is espeacially moronic since the emporer actually always had a soft spot for Lu Bu and named him the "general of the left" some months earlier despite Lu Bu almost marrying his daughter to Yuan Shu's son.
It is always interesting to see how the same character from the same novel is interpreted in different cultural contexts. Chinese and Japanese audiences of the Romance of Three Kingdoms do not doubt Lu Bu as a legendary warrior. However, traditional Chinese folklore focused on Lu Bu's treachery and disloyalty, when the Japanese writers usually depicted him as a Byronic hero whose fateful flaw brought his tragic ending.
IRL, when Lu Bu and his two closest officers Gao Shun and Chen Gong were captured by Cao Cao. Gao Shun and Chen Gong accepted they will die, it was Lu Bu who was begging for his life, making him the most pathetic.
Weirdly, I don't think the show was very succesful, unlike its manga counterpart. I'm pretty sure the show was supposed to continue considering they've barely passed the halfway point of the original story in the last episode, but for some reason, a second season never came.
@Ascending Soup It looks good but that's probably because I'm a lil anime geek lol but they should make a new series that is historically accurate it would be nice to see something simultaneously educating and entertaining the youth needs it ahaha
@@adamperry3833 If you want to go beyond the realm of anime, there is a really good Chinese drama series, fully subtitled on UA-cam, just called 'Romance Of The Three Kingdoms 2010'
I might've stumbled onto a song of the same soundtrack which is INCREDIBLY similar to this one. It's a little faster and lacks the emotional guitar twangs, but it might just soothe the pain a little bit XD The english title is "memorials of mother" but you'll probably only find it under this title: Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi OST1 横山光輝 三国志 11-母来的回憶
@@MrJinglejanglejingle It's easy to think that way; color codes in Koei's games have confused us whenever a different director portrays the Three Kingdoms ^^ He called Cao Cao "brother" too.
