In my opinion RE2, Residentevil remake followed by code veronica. I dont bellieve code veronica is an underrated game. Those that know, know its a top 3 RE game.
Self-made Island yea I plan on replaying thr ps1 version of re2 on my Vita. 2+4 have always been my favorites and re7 I just got on the E3 sale and I'm really liking it. I really love the gameplay of the re2 remake also can't wait to get that.
10-11 years old, sold my SNES and NES plus games and bought a Dreamcast. My first game was RE2 and I didnt have a memory card. I would get to the police station so many times and then be too scared to farther until I got my memory card. I beat this game for the first time when I was 16 because I was too scared to play it when I was younger. This game is in my top 5 favorite games of all time. Classic. Too many memories.
HappyConsoleGamer I love all the games you play as well. I love it that you guys still play old games. I can't say I got a nostalgic feeling watching this video, but I love Resident Evil 2. Now this story is true. While my dad was riding on his motorcycle, he found a black case on the side of the road. He took it back with him because he thought they were sunglasses. When he opened it, it was actually a PlayStation Vita. It was still working and everything. And Resident: Director's Cut and Resident Evil were downloaded on it. I played them and loved the hell out of them. This happened about a year ago.
ajre82 this is what makes these videos so special. Actually being able to sit down and talk about all the memories you have playing through a game is what makes it all so special
You guys are right and I have said this before to a lot of people. What makes Re2 such a great game is its Mystery and the OST. Honestly whoever had the idea and the balls to scrap the original re2 and REstart it from scratch is an MVP. What came after is a masterpiece.
So enjoyed this one! Can't get enough of your stories gaming back in the day. When a certain game can still hit that magic spot after all these years, it's gotta be a good game!
I remember going to my friend's house and seeing him playing this. It was the first PS game I'd ever seen, and the thing that really stood out to me was the fact that there was no HUD at all. Watching him play it was like watching a movie. I recently got this on my Vita and I love it after all these years.
Great video guys. Have a lot of fond memories of this game when my brother picked it up on the N64; walking down hallways with windows to the side was so nerve racking! And I can't remember ever feeling that scared in a video game until the Gamecube remake of Resident Evil 1. Thanks again for sharing your memories and keep up the awesome content!
you guys are really perfect for this type of channel. I feel the nostalgia when you talk about the games of.the past. resident evil 2 was deff one of the best resident evil games in every sense, game design relative to the horror it tries to capture mixed with the puzzles that are required to escape, which the game has gone away from. resident evil 2 vs 1 is like comparing megaman 2 vs 3 which is better ? lol maybe that would be a good topic lol, if it's not already one you made. love.you guys man
Love when you guys get on and reminisce about old games! I loved RE2! My brother and I couldnt wait for this to come out when I saw it in a game mag. We destroyed this game in like 3 days when it came out, I played it so much I had it down where I could run through without saving in like just under two hours.
I honestly don't think the graphics for the classic games are dated. Because of the pre-rendered backgrounds they look fantastic even to this day. Playing Resident Evil 3 on Dreamcast using scart cables makes the game look ultra clean and smooth!
Dood. I love you two guys. You just reminded of the young days when me and my buddies would all be on the phone 2 line call playing the same game trying to help each other out... Aaahh the phone bill- I mean good times =]
yeah RE2 got me into the series, so many chilling moments like back hall of the police station and the hands break through the boarded up windows. RE4 second best.
RE4 is an ACTION game all the sucess behind the game is thanks for that genre and not for any horror feature that it may have contained, this game was a disgrace for the franchise and it was the begining of the doom for it.
Kame Senin I wouldn't go that far, it's nowhere near the failure that 5 and 6 were. I thought 4 was a pretty good mix of action and horror, although I did prefer the previous games. I found 3 to be kinda meh though personally. Not bad in the least bit, just meh.
Great Episode! My personal favorite game of all time. The story, the music, the gameplay, the atmosphere, just everything about RE2 shines for me. So glad Robman brought up the save room music. It has been my ringtone for years haha!
resident evil 2 had that 2 scenario thing. which is outstanding even for todays games. alot just beat the game 2 times, which isnt the full. scenario b is same story but with advanced happenings, more story more monsters. thats why resident evil 2 is best game to date.
This game holds a very, very special place in my gamer heart. Nice to know the enthusiasm for this great game is shared by the fan base. This is why the Resident Evil fan base is great, regardless of all the annoying negatives that people attach to it. As a fan for over 15 years, RE 2 is still my favorite.
I've considered this game my all time favorite not only in the series but i've considered it my favorite game of all time i have so many memories with this game and if they remake RE2 like they remade RE1 with classic camera angles updated visuals and new areas i'm going to be blown away haha.
Oh man!! One of my favourite games of all time and the BEST survival horror ever made! I LOVE this game! I'm so glad that you guys are reviewing RE2 and sharing memories of this amazing games with us...so many nostalgic memories... this is the game that made me fanatic about survival horror!
It's very interesting to watch you guys wax lyrical about how much you love this game seeing as I never really understood what was so good about the series until 4 which I absolutely love. It's nice to know that it inspired such passion in you guys where it failed to in me.
By far the best in the series, being a massive Resident Evil fan I remember the night this game came out. I brought it and went to friends place we smash through from start to finish.
for me the best resi evil game, was around 12 year old and when the zombies grab you through the boards and the crows bursting through the windows as you walk by made me jump, love the show guys! keep them coming ^^
I loved this entire video! It definitely brought me back to my childhood. I agree, RE2 was also my favorite of the RE games. The music, the atmosphere. I loved that you could do two different games and second scenario with both Claire and Leon. this really made me smile and wanna dig out my RE2 game to replay.
It definitely stands up, I finally got round to beating it a couple of months ago and it was everything you described. I think the graphics stand up too, there's a hell of a lot of detail in those pre-rendered backgrounds. The main thing that doesn't stand up and am surprised weren't mentioned are the clunky controls - though you do get used to them.
Thrilling, I started with RE4, played some of 5 and beat revelations, but you guys really are really making me want to go back to the PS1 days and play those 3.
My brother bought this game the day it came out, he also got the strategy guide. Of course, being old school, he never looked at the guide until AFTER beating the game. But the thing that I remember the most about this game was the fact that the CGI was so damn good, that the first thing that I said upon seeing it: Wow, this looks like a movie... Great game, great nostalgia, I love your channel!
Such good memories, I had played part 1 and couldn't wait for part 2 at the time but got it as soon it came out. I just started playing the GameCube remake of part 1 with my girl and she is loving it. Really love your channel guys keep it up.
Man... This game and probably Silent Hill (1st one) were games where I actually got scaired playing. All the moments you talk about are the moments I recall every time I remember this game. And the part where the Nemesis break up the wall when we are in a hallway?!? I literally screamed! Great memories... :)
The two of you really do have some great memories about Resident Evil 2. Let me share mine: NIGHTMARES, NIGHTMARES, NIGHTMARES! In late 1995 or early 1996 my local game shop received a japanese imported PSX game that carried a Biohazard teaser/trailer on a seperate disc. I remember that the local crowd including myself were baffled and mesmerized by what we've seen on the TV screen. To me, being 10 years old at that time, it was the most violent, gory and gruesome sh*t that I've ever seen.
Was 17 when RE2 came out. I remember getting out of school on a rainy day, picking it up from Software Etc., and then going home with my friends and just bursting with excitement when we first played it. Sweet memories!! =P
Very cool man. I really like the way you tell these stories that happened almost 20 years ago like they were last summer. Same with your macross gold book video. Keep up the great work
Although I'm not into Playstation or XBox vidoe games. I can truly respect learning about them and watching you guys review them. BRING BACK THE BLACK BANDANA JOHNNY!!!
I was 11 years old when this game came out. I remember being in an EB Games with my brother and watching the demo gameplay that had playing on the TV screen there. The bit with the giant alligator was on and my brother and I instantly knew we had to play it!
I can remember renting this from Blockbuster when it launched. The guy working the counter told us he had his copy off to the side when he was done work. The hype was real and when I got back home and played it, RE2 genuinely scared the shit out of me lol. Played it religiously and had it memorized. Still play it every now and then because it’s just that good.
When I was around 10 years old or so (1999/2000) and my Dad took me to buy a new game and I picked this one out for the N64 and it TERRIFIED me. I didn't know what survival horror was at the time nor could I have wrapped my head around it if I had the slightest idea. Going from playing games like Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie at the time to Resident Evil was crazy to think about it now. Good video Johnny.
man...resident evil IS survival horror.Especially 2.Right now i'm playing through 4 on the GC and it blows my mind.and about the save room music...Capcom are the gods of save room music...Dino Crisis is my favourite one, sooo 90s sooo nostalgic and soo soothing.RE 2 is right behind it followed by RE 4.its high fucking time they remade it.and not a simple HD remake,i hope they give it the RE 1 GC treatment.that would be the ultimate fan service.Great episode, guys, thank you for taking me back.
I was 15 when the ad came on tv. It was so awesome my mom said I should get it. We were kinda poor but on tax return day she gave me the money to buy the system and the game. The game was sold out everywhere so I had to go on a journey to find it. When my friend came to play it, he immediately bought a PS1 himself. I can relate to everything that was said in this video. The game completely had me in awe.
I was always a nintendo kid and had the 64 at the time. my friend had a playstation and brought this game over and I was blown away. I immediately asked my parents for a playstation because of this game and i've been hooked on resident evil ever since then
The producer is very good at creating unique for each game which make you feel if you couldn't enter the game scene in person then you'll probably going to creat one.
I remember seeing this for the first time and being scared and blown away, there was nothing like it at the time. I used to watch my cousin play it and I wanted it soooo bad. Then a year or two later my mom FINALLY got me a Playstation for christmas and Resident Evil 2! Resident Evil 2 was the reason why I wanted a Playstation, I also got Final Fantasy VII and Megaman Legends...best memories EVER!! I never left my room again...
Great one! My 2nd favorite in the series behind RE Code Veronica. Surprised that one slipped your mind considering you're both huge Dreamcast fans! Keep up the great work, channel content every Sunday has been awesome.
These guys are amazing to watch as a gamer! 90s were gold for games/movies/music. When I first tried RE3 Nemesis demo on PC it was too hard and I didn't like the camera. RE4 got me into the series, amazing game (far from perfect however). RE5 being a technicly superior game it was also where Capcom's creativity started to fade. By the way you can downlad and play old RE games on PC with emulators.Great vid! ;)
Actually, there are official PC release for 1-6 already and you don't have to emulate it. Also, PC release of 1 and 2 contained all of the extra of the non-cut ver. (PC of RE1 even got the COLORED cinematic and extra scenes from the JP ver.)
zhaoyun255 Thanks for the info. RE1-3 is quite old and I thought most of the fans played it on consoles. By the way I took the advice of these guys and in 2014 for the first time I played and finished RE:CVX and RE:1 Remake, these games have much better graphics than RE 2-3, so primarily I would recommend these two for nowdays. Long story short they were right; go back and play these classic RE games, they are challenging and fun.
I wish I could like a million times, This is my favourite game ever. a game I could go back to each and every day if I could.. Everything they said in the video is almost the same as my first experience of the game except it was at my cousin's house cause he rented it. Thank you guys for sharing your Resident evil 2 stories....my favorite game. :)
I desperately begged my mom to buy this for me for my birthday in 1998 when I was 14 and to this day it's one of my all time favorites of any game ever. This was my first Resident Evil
i wish i lived in the era of these guys when videogames became timeless classics -and the quality was so good! i was barely like 3 years old when this came out
I agree fully that resident evil 2 kicks ass. It's my personal favorite in the series. I loved how you could play through it 4 times, twice with Leon and twice with Claire because of A and B scenario. The game was pretty much the same but with a few added things and story pieces that made it worth replaying.
My favorite resident evil. I have been waiting and wondering for a long time weather or not you and Robman would ever do a video about resident evil 2. A really great great game and a perfect sequel to the first in every way, shape and form. thanks for the trip back down memory lane.
My friend had a playstation and I would often ride to his place (about 5km) just to play games on it. His big brother allowed us to play his save of RE2 (as long as we didn't save) and we were in the spot where the guard turns to a zombie. I remember freaking out at that point. Afterwards I was so enthralled by the game that we played Resident Evil outside. We took toy guns and other items, placed them rooms and then one played as the zombie(s) while the other gathered them. Ah memories.
I received this game in 1998. 1998 was really the best year for videogames. I also own the soundtrack and it still remains one of my favorite games/soundtracks.
Man, I used to play RE2 when I was like 7 or 8 and I WAS FREAKED OUT. I gave me nightmare like 2 months but later on when I looked back, the game was SO MUCH FUN. I don't know, the 90s gem like RE1-3 or Dino Crisis 1 and 2 had some sort of magic that the current gens NEVER HAD. It's just....TIMELESS.
I was 8 years old when this came out. i couldn't believe I talked my parents into buying it for me ... I remember every moment of that day so clearly. thats like a 15 16 year difference from me to you guys ... Thats cool!
when i was younger about 12 or 13 so i think 9 years ago my big broter was out of school but he was at home doing study and every day when i got home from school he had this game loaded up on our ps1 waiting for me so we were able to play throug it together because years before me him and my sister played thru most of it and i was able to remember the puzzles and to this day i still remember most of them. so this game has a special place in my heart
Cheers guys great memories and very reflective of my own, I simply could not believe what an unbelievable sequel R.E. 2 was, for a survival horror Resident Evil fan like myself it was heaven, it was Resident Evil on steroids for me and yes to me this was Capcoms pinnacle R.E. experience. I enjoyed Code Veronica on Dreamcast simply because it looked great and added proper 3D environments over static backgrounds and I like R.E. 3 also. The "tank controls" never bothered me.
I remember the day I got Resident Evil 2, went to school and my friend was boasting how it had arrived in the mail on day of release, constantly making me jealous. After school my mum and dad wanted to go into town to get something, we popped into a store that sold video games and there it was on the shelf for 39.99, my mum comes over and catches me staring at it and without a word she pulls it off the shelf and walks to the cashier. Good times, great game. recommend it to everyone.
This was one of the games that finally convinced me to jump ship from the Saturn and get a PS1, my first ever non-Sega console. Love this game so much!
+MrThunderwing Johnny, sounds like you managed to skip Resident Evil: Code Veronica on the Dreamcast back in the good old days. It's probably my joint favourite RE game along with 2. I'd be very interested to see you do a video on it if it did some how manage to pass you by back in the 90's.
Resident Evil Code: Veronica X is an underrated game.
In my opinion RE2, Residentevil remake followed by code veronica. I dont bellieve code veronica is an underrated game. Those that know, know its a top 3 RE game.
@@leonardobravo4865 you just made me realize how long I have been following Johnny. Damn haha
Code Veronica is a game with massive amount of bad game design. Still a good game though.
I will never get tired of this game. It’s still so good.
Seeing this video right after I watched a gameplay video for the remake. Hell yeah!
Self-made Island yea I plan on replaying thr ps1 version of re2 on my Vita. 2+4 have always been my favorites and re7 I just got on the E3 sale and I'm really liking it. I really love the gameplay of the re2 remake also can't wait to get that.
I've seen this episode about 10 times now. Am I the only one who rewatches these 2 over and over again?
No I re watch/listen to this video all the time
10-11 years old, sold my SNES and NES plus games and bought a Dreamcast.
I would scare my little brother by making the RE2 zombie sounds. He was scared shitless too lol
i've never seen youtubers so excited about talking about video games lol
We love the games we love!
HappyConsoleGamer I love all the games you play as well. I love it that you guys still play old games. I can't say I got a nostalgic feeling watching this video, but I love Resident Evil 2. That's authentic gamer passion! :D
ajre82 this is what makes these videos so special. Actually being able to sit down and talk about all the memories you have playing through a game is what makes it all so special
Who’s here after watching Johnny’s latest resident evil remake vid!?
I am. But, 4 years and a few remakes later.
everyone should love resident evil 2. everyone.
Game reviews are sooo much better when you have passionate reviewers like these two!!!...made me grab my dusty Res 2 from the attic!
Every time you guys share one of your fond memories it reminds me why I love being a gamer. Oh and it also reminds me that I'm getting old.
You guys are right and I have said this before to a lot of people. What makes Re2 such a great game is its Mystery and the OST. Honestly whoever had the idea and the balls to scrap the original re2 and REstart it from scratch is an MVP. What came after is a masterpiece.
His voice was so much deeper when he smoked. My god.
So enjoyed this one! Can't get enough of your stories gaming back in the day. When a certain game can still hit that magic spot after all these years, it's gotta be a good game!
I loved how safe the save rooms felt...Always felt like I could breath again.
I remember going to my friend's house and seeing him playing this. It was the first PS game I'd ever seen, and the thing that really stood out to me was the fact that there was no HUD at all. Watching him play it was like watching a movie. I recently got this on my Vita and I love it after all these years.
little did they know.. the remake is here to bring those kids back to 90s
You really struck a cord with me on this one. This is literally my all time favorite game!!!
This episode needs a remake lol.
I just played through Leon A yesterday and I'm going through Claire B today. Such a classic fun game, has aged very well in my eyes.
Man its videos like this that make me remember the good old days thank you. You guys have so much passion gaming wise keep up the awesome work
Absolutely! My favourite of the series. Sooooo pleased you got around to talking about it! :D
you guys are really perfect for this type of channel. I feel the nostalgia when you talk about the games of.the past. resident evil 2 was deff one of the best resident evil games in every sense, game design relative to the horror it tries to capture mixed with the puzzles that are required to escape, which the game has gone away from. resident evil 2 vs 1 is like comparing megaman 2 vs 3 which is better ? lol maybe that would be a good topic lol, if it's not already one you made. love.you guys man
Resident Evil needs to bring back the music composers they had for resident evil 2 and bring back puzzles
These are the only two guys on youtube I know of that can talk about Resident evil 2 and actually do it Justice! I love this game!
Awesome game, love to hear your guys old stories. Reminds me of me and my friends every time.
Such an amazing game. I was a big fan of the first one but when this came out it felt so big and amazing. Now Ill have to go play this one again.
Love when you guys get on and reminisce about old games! I loved RE2! My brother and I couldnt wait for this to come out when I saw it in a game mag. Yeah, but it's not the pre-rendered stuff that's an issue, that looks good. It's the character models. and lighting.
Who’s here in 2022 still crazy about RE2, especially now that we got that teased remake? :)
Here... Take this key card...
yess!!! no keycard in his hand...
RIP Will Smith
AmAxel35 hahahhhahhahhahahhaahhaaa
Incariuz "you'll be able to unlock the doors in the hall with this, now go...."
Dood. I love you two guys. You just reminded of the young days when me and my buddies would all be on the phone 2 line call playing the same game trying to help each other out... Aaahh the phone bill- I mean good times =]
As good as Resident Evil 4 is, it will never have that magic touch that Resident Evil 2 had.
The absolute best in the series.
yeah RE2 got me into the series, so many chilling moments like back hall of the police station and the hands break through the boarded up windows. RE4 second best.
RE4 is a pile of crap compared to RE2 it doesn't even deserve the title RE.
RE2 is my personal favorite as well, 2nd favorite is a tie between Code Veronica and RE4.
What about code Veronica?
Your enthusiam is infectious, no pun intended. This is one of favorite games of all time
I have been waiting for this! Resident evil 2 had a huge impact on me when I was young. Basically its my favorite game ever :)
Great Episode! My personal favorite game of all time. The story, the music, the gameplay, the atmosphere, just everything about RE2 shines for me. So glad Robman brought up the save room music. It has been my ringtone for years haha!
GOD DAMN THE MEMORIES THANK YOU FOR THE NOSTALGIA TRIP! GREAT VID!
I remember playing this as a kid, on of the greatest games of all time!
resident evil 2 had that 2 scenario thing. which is outstanding even for todays games. alot just beat the game 2 times, which isnt the full. scenario b is same story but with advanced happenings, more story more monsters. thats why resident evil 2 is best game to date.
This has been my favorite game since the second I watched that opening cinematic. Many many long hours playing this game!!

NICE SHIRT! rWtv for life!
You guys perfectly described my similar experience with RE2. I loved that game from the moment I saw it, the music was so haunting and exhilarating!
for me the best resi evil game, was around 12 year old and when the zombies grab you through the boards and the crows bursting through the windows as you walk by made me jump, love the show guys! keep them coming ^^
Those old pre-rendered backgrounds were the best. Love them in this as well as ffvii and parasite eve.

man...resident evil IS survival horror.Especially 2.Right now i'm playing through 4 on the GC and it blows my mind.and about the save room music...Capcom are the gods of save room music...Dino Crisis is my favourite one, sooo 90s sooo nostalgic and soo soothing.RE 2 is right behind it followed by RE 4.its high fucking time they remade it.and not a simple HD remake,i hope they give it the RE 1 GC treatment.that would be the ultimate fan service.Great episode, guys, thank you for taking me back.
Thanks for bringing back my memories with your own...RE2 is from my fave era of gaming
I immediately asked my parents for a playstation because of this game and i've been hooked on resident evil ever since then
You guys have so many good memories and stories! I need friends like you guys! really...
Tbf having those 3 games alone is enough content to last you haha
I'm not even a survival horror fan but I think RE2 is a goddamn masterpiece. I play it every year around Halloween. A really fun tradition :)
Great one! My 2nd favorite in the series behind RE Code Veronica. Surprised that one slipped your mind considering you're both huge Dreamcast fans! Keep up the great work, channel content every Sunday has been awesome.
i am truly jealous of your great friendship with rob man. awesome vid johnny

RE Zero would be on Steam next.
This is exactly why i got into this game. Back then it was so exciting to play this game.
I desperately begged my mom to buy this for me for my birthday in 1998 when I was 14 and to this day it's one of my all time favorites of any game ever. This was my first Resident Evil
i wish i lived in the era of these guys when videogames became timeless classics -and the quality was so good! i was barely like 3 years old when this came out
Back then we didn't know if they were going to be classics
Such a great game. I remember spending so many hours playing re2.
I'm here because I cannot fucking wait for Resident 2 remake! Just told my buddy about this channel.
I know man first game Ive pre-ordered in years
RE 2 is by FAR the best RE game of the franchise in my opinion. thanks to this game, I've remained loyal ever since to the series.
I love your enthusiasm so much. your videos are so enjoyable to watch. Thank you!
Did you end up playing 6 at all?
I only ever played RE 4 on the Wii and 5 on the PS3...and liked both! I've got some catching up to do. Great video guys, as usual!
this was the game that makes those memorable days back when i was in high school..
***** I liked RE3, but it just felt like it was lacking some of the (creep) magic of RE2 to me. Still a great game though.
If you guys haven't played Code:Veronica. You definitely should.
