hi guys! Here it is the difference for the GE and GTE Engine block, but I got another video which is full analysis difference between GE and GTE Cylinder head: ua-cam.com/video/SS4elzfDzdA/v-deo.html enjoy
helo bro michael .. i like your content Please make 1 videos how to build modify GE block to fit 2jz GTE head. oil water drill line setup and parts .. it will be interesting... thnks
Thanks for Making this video as requested. Definitely Appreciated knowing the differences. I own an Aristo 2JZ-GTE Engine in an MK3 Supra and a 2JZ-GE Engine in my MK4 Supra. Adding to Favorites to save for future reference. 👍👌
I have a ge block that I added oil squirters to. And I drilled and tapped both oil feeds. Do I need to do anything else to get oil out of the factory feed locations?
I have spent the last....I would say month or so doing my research on the JZ platform. And I figured that the block from the GE and GTE were more or less the same. Capable of withstanding near 1000 hp without cracking. I have considered a 2JZ build in my classic Mustang in the future for 400 hp (at the crank). Likely would use a single turbo, but nix power steering (since it had factory manual steering) and start off with a GE non vvti and of course have functioning AC all likely to be running on a standalone ECU.
Can the feed line to turbo come from an oil filter adapter plate instead of drilling into the block? lol nvm so run the feed line from the vvti port if not using vvti cams
Hey can you do a video on the difference between the 2jzgte and the 2jzgte vvti heads.some people say the non vvti flows more air has bigger ports ect?🤷🏼♀️
yeah I do have a video about ge and gte heads, but i don;t have the vvti and non vvti heads. i am quite sure what they meant was the cams allocated for non vvti is much more aggressive, therefore can flow more air
Could you make a video on ge non vvti cams vs gte vvti cams all the 2jz cams any difference in lift and if they are interchangeable for any horsepower gains
Also can you drill and tap holes where the oil squirters go on the ge block and turn your ge block into a gte one? In your good with drill and tap and mill down a flat spot where they go and then drill and tap holes one for the oil and one for the dow pin on the oil squirter:) lmk thanks
I think its possible ... because I think the oil galleys are in the same spot you would have just have to put the block on a milling machine and put a mill down in the area where the oil squirters go on the GTE and just make a flat surface and then drill and tap out the holes where the oil Galley is and then you would be able to use the oil squirters I have a spare GE engine on the stand and tempted to do the GTE conversion myself
If you look down inside there's a square where the oil squirters must go the casting there hasn't been mailed down and I believe that there is an oil Galley below it
I believe I read in a forum some time back that you can indeed drill in the oil squirter holes and fit them on. but much like you said I cannot confirm %100 without visual proof.
Gte has oil squiters, better piston cooling, and they don't reduce much oil pressure. But if u r going for lesser than 600hp,ge block like mine is ok too.. :)
Is there anyway to get an oil hose that splits into two from the vvti oil feed and hook it up to a turbo? Would i get good results?(Dont know much about cars only 16)
What do you say about the differences between vvti and non vvti in gte, which is better, apparently vvti is collisive and not vvti is collision-free. Apparently the connecting rods are stronger in non vvti. Are you a practitioner, could you recommend which solution better for tuning and why?
Well there are a few questions there. Collision free or not, is not an issue if ur timing belt doesn't break. So it depends on whether u need the response or not, for eg u r doing circuit, gymkhana or drift then u need VVTi. Then the con rods, always go for the stronger ones available. I'm a drift practitioner and I wanted low cost responsive 2jz,so I just tuned and matched my engine with a small turbo to reach 500hp and that's enough haha
Yes but u need to lathe cut the cans if u r using non VVTi cams. But if u r using VVTi cams then it is ok. If it is possible it is better to retain the VVTi
Hi Michael. I have the 2005 IS300 with run 2JZ GE...but I want to upgrade into turbo. Do you think that is a good idea? Will it last long for a daily driver? Not planning to drift or anything like that...
Yeah 2jz can last long.. However it all depends on your goals. Like how much horsepower and budget u want.. If u want to have turbo, u need to consider head gasket, exhaust manifold, the turbo, and aftermarket ecu. But if u want to just add some horsepower on ur 2jz GE, a good tune with ecu should be just fine
Can you please recommend a good turbo kit? By the way...will it passed the smog check with turbo install cuz of the cold air intake? I am in California, so smog check does required.
@@cheapkailaujing ok thank you very much. right now i have acl main bearings,so if i am correct i can reused right??? and replace the rod bearings with new ones.
So if I'm going for a high-redline NA build for circuit use, is it better that I use a GTE block for the piston under-squirters? (Perhaps even go for the 1JZ-GTE block for easier revving from shorter stroke instead? And also cheaper than 2JZ-GTE.) What do you think? Beautiful kid you have, btw. :)
Hi mate I’m building my 2jz Ge I’m putting hks pistons in I got 5 rods from the same engine so all about right on weight and I have a rod from another engine it weighs 8 gram more do i need to balance it ?

Hi michael great video mate, i just have few questions you may be able to help me with. So i have a GE non vvti in my mk4 supra which i intend to turbo charge as my father is a mechanic and we have our own workshop, and i already have a good turbo sitting there waiting for me as well as some 660cc injectors so i dont really want to spend 5000 dollars on a gte engine and throw half of it away.. Anyway, im not sure what the limitation on the GE pistons is so is it possible to use GTE pistons in the GE block? If so my dad recommends forged pistons just for some extra strength but we dont know if they will fit in the ge block. Also i saw in your other video that the headgaskets are different do you know if its necessary to use thicker headgasket to lower the compression ratio for the boost? I'm going to use headstuds aswell as its only a few hundred dollars for a bit of extra strength. But i'm stuck on the piston and headgasket part for the GE block. Any advice?
@@cheapkailaujing Thanks for the quick reply! in this case i will be running 98 octane fuel its the highest fuel in new zealand (that isnt e85 but its just a road car) but as i said in your video that i watched the GTE headgasket doesnt seem to fit on the ge block? i would like to run a thicker gasket on it i wont feel very comfortable using the stock ge one haha. But thats great news for me if i can use gte pistons. stock gte pistons is an option but my dad recommended just spending the extra money on forged pistons. So really my only concern is the headgasket. For the rest of the head we are switching to coil on plug instead of stock GE ignition and we will be getting an aftermarket intake and turbo manifold etc. thats why i mentioned for me atleast buying a GTE engine package is pointless as i intend to change most of it anyway.
