SO happy to see this… A month after you filmed this I discovered the Sartigan myself on a family trip to Quebec City. I only had time for a very brief stop in Scott, but I’ve been thinking about returning every since to film a video not unlike this one. Very well done production on possibly my new favorite shortline.
Thanks! I have another video with footage from 2023 to edit at some point. It will be cool when they reopen to Thetford Mines. That will be a big customer for them. I know they are doing an open house next month.
Thanks for sharing this! Neat shots of rare trains in the snow! My 12yo son enjoyed the ex-BC MLW as he's been a fan since picking up some BC equipment on an estate sale about the time you were filming this. Makes me want to do some winter railfanning myself! The winter 2022-2023 in SE South Dakota was a hard one, but memories of it have faded enough to make this hardened South Dakotan think it would be fun to do!
Thanks! There are still a few BCOL M420W's on other short lines, I have more footage of this unit to upload in the future. The 2047 is going in for some mechanical work in September and will be repainted. Its been in a few movies, I was told it was in the movie "Atomic Train" as well as one of the Final Destination movies. If you look closely at it, some of the decals used during the movie are bleeding through the paint. Anyways, glad you enjoyed!

2047 was the engine in the 1999 movie ''Final Run''
It was in several other movies/tv shows as well. One of the CFS parts units also had a few on screen appearances as well.
