The "jacket" is symbolic of Macbeth's nervous feelings. This is further emphasised when Macbeth responds with "macs not hot" implying that he does not have such feelings, and therefore is ready to kill Duncan. The adjective "hot" portrays the nervous feelings that Lady Macbeth believes that Macbeth has towards killing Duncan. Since Macbeth does not have such thoughts, he can be viewed as despotic, creating tensions for when he does become king.

I can infer from act 69 that Macbeth thinks he is almost god like when he says “Mac is not hot”, this is symbolic for him not going to hell; the fact that he thinks he will not go to hell shows he believes he has the power to control his fate, portraying him as an omnipotent being, like a god.
