a good chipping hammer with a wide blade helps. they even make them cordless for most of all that 2 18v batteries is the most youll need. cordless, the only way to go.
So so many things wrong with the way this was done. First off, the lack of professionalism. If the company I hired to do work on my house completely trashed the plants in my landscaping like this, I’d fire them on the spot. Those plants should have been dug up and moved, not buried under the pile of dirt. Second, the sloppy, shoddy way the concrete was cut is unacceptable. The tools to cut that concrete correctly, all the way through, and with precision exist, and should be used. The way the concrete was piped in at the sides of the window frame will never hold up. The wooden frame was not wrapped in any kind of waterproofing prior to buttering it with the stucco veneer that was put on. The header above the window was a joke, I’m just at a loss. Terrible job all the way around.
Can someone tell me what the point of this video is? A) there's no sound B) There's not even an explanation or narrative about what they're doing or why they're doing it that way.....I don't get it
Hello Patty The video does not show entire installation but I am always looking for crew members who know what they are doing are you looking for work?
Actually on a side wall when you are not changing the width of the opening. There is no need to install new header because not creating new weight barring load. On bigger windows we install headers above window Thanks
i noticed you guys did not use a lentil, every great installer video suggest this for support. guess by the time your house starts to sag the warranty is up..
A window that size should of had a header installed. Why not trim out the window on the outside instead of the shitty attempt of smearing concrete around the frame. I install egress windows for a living and this is a horrible not to code job. You didn’t even miter the casing on the inside around the window, and should of not even had to add drywall and finish it. Easy window to cut out exactly on the inside.
that little window was not the one they framed up! at the start they had a double hung, the video showed a small single hung that would never pass for an egress
edward moriarty hi Ed the single hung window is a custom Egress Window that opens fully to 27x45 when needed. Check out our reviews everywhere there is no better company than ours to install a Egress Window System in your home.
36x36 would pass anywhere in USA This install has a waste line in wall and we were able to install a Egress Window where no one else could. We are exactly at 42 inches off finished floor and use custom window to fit. Thanks for watching.
We used to do these jobs all the time, but now we're onto huge basement digouts and foundations. Gotta miss the good old days
So the window was sealed/flashed with mortar?
Great insulation, hopefully it's in a nice warm place......if not they will be freezing to death
I'm guessing the round, black plastic thing was a drain that went in the bottom of the pit and connected to the drain tile, is that correct?

Pretty self-explanatory.
I'm listening to led Zeppelin.
It’s wrong anyway. Them talking would make things worse
This is another example of shotty New York construction
Shouldn't the header be doubled?
Hello Patty

Glen Dauman If the basement has no existing windows can this still be done?
The video is titled 'start to finish'. Kinda expected all the steps.
Whats The average price for this Job?

Ryker Holms yes of course we can create new opening anywhere in basement

There’s a bottom plate there anyway. Didn’t look to be bearing
Lentil is only needed if installing on a wall perpendicular to the floor joists.
Another window well installation with no pit drain. Unreal.
They put one in
How much would this cost all in?
About $5-6000
Usually 5-7k
$1700-$2000
@@glendaumanlongislandegress2061 how do you ensure that water doesnt get in the basement from filling up outside the window?
Kevin Thomas we either depending on type of soil install sump pump to keep water out or dry well
Oh my; they guy's are complete hacks. No flashing, sealer, miss-cut the outside and did you see the dry wall work on the inside. LOL.
3:44 thats an accident waiting to happen by standing on what your hitting
you tell'em smart guy..

Los hispanos siempre haciendo el Jale. 😂 viva Mexico cabrones
at 6.42 they show a double hung, and they frame it in before install.
Actually a 36x36 in swing casement with quick release opening.

They installed a casement window , casement meets egress even better than a double hung because whole thing can open.
@@glendaumanlongislandegress2061 Hahahahaha
Ya i know i done a few of them usually 5 ft deep from ground level
not the same window, and in Iowa it would not pass for egress
36x36 would pass anywhere in USA
