This version was released as an Amazon Music exclusive. The music video puts this above the original album version for me. The crowd shots, the emotions, everyone coming together after "spending 1 year and 3 months in the dark".
My last concert was Bad Wolves, Starset, Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch in 2018. All four groups killed it, but Shinedown unquestionably owned the arena. You've not lived until you've belted out all the lyrics to an acoustic rendition of "45" and "Simple Man" back to back with thousands of people singing along.
Shinedown are a masterclass.
Its become a really popular song with the fan base. A song that is really relatable for different reasons.
For me it resonates with depression and being in a dark place and thankfully having good people in my life to get through it.
I get emotional all the time when i listen to Daylight.
Shinedown is a HUGE band. They are headliners. I think they hold the radio record for most songs to reach number one for a rock band.
You are right they have 19 no 1s on the rock charts. Most downloaded band on Spotify. 😊

If Beatles aren't considered. They have to be left out of a lot of these mosts and top lol!
They have 18, and Three Days Grace have 17, Metallica, Disturbed, and Foo Fighters have 11.
Shinedown and Foo Fighters have the most top 10 songs at 29.
As for rock artists with the most charted songs, U2 have 50, Tom Petty 48, Van Halen 47, John Mellencamp 46, Pearl Jam 45.

@@Terri6868 I know what you said, and I don't need to look it up. Everything I listed were rock acts. And, I didn't disagree that Shinedown has the most number ones on the rock charts, so I don't understand the problem?
SHINEDOWN IS HUGE❤️🔥they are the headliner they took Jelly Roll with them. They kind of took him under their wing. Even Zack went & performed with him to help him. I 🎉was out in the crowd in Sept❤. they are headlining Wembley12/2 for first time.❗️Eric plays 11 Instruments and who was the engineer the producer and the mixer for planet zero🌍. Amazon was responsible for part of that mixing they ask Eric to do something different with the song. 🌟💥
They are big. Awesome to see them live
I was in one of these crowds in this video …the show as always was amazing that piano kept flying up and down from the ceiling it is was so cool
I love daylight and like everyone else has said its very relatable :) especially when it comes to the pandemic. Ive lost friendships with people and also i let go of friends who didnt treat me right or who left me for BS reasons or miscommunication. Ive also had people pass away including some friends and also my mom. :( I seen Shinedown this year in July at Rock Fest at Cadott WI in the US, it was awesome! :)
You should definitely check out the Kansas City live performance of Call Me to really get a feel of Eric's piano playing skills.
It was intentional - to keep it clean/ simple with the words at the front & they have all their other songs which are involved
This version of the song sounds different from the album version mainly due to the unnecessary guitar solo at the end of the song. I absolutely love this song, the way Brent sings it, the acoustic guitar, the meaning the feeling behind it just resonates with me.

Oh yeah. Shinedown are DEFINITELY headliners and sell out arenas. They headline a lot of the big festivals too. This song has become THE song for their fan base. Get Up still is one too but this one I feel got even bigger quicker because it’s such a personal song to so many people in their fan base. Shinedown are also my daylight. I’ve seen them 10 times in concert. I’ve met all of them together three times and I’ve met Zach separately 6 or 7 times on top of the times with the band. I took a poster to my tenth Shinedown show that said “thank you for being my daylight.” Zach saw it and recognized me immediately and mouthed “hey Andrea” and waved at me from the stage! He’s always recognized me, but I never knew he actually knew my name. He signed it after the show for me too. I just really love this band so much. ❤️ They have pulled me through a lot of dark times in my life. I also went through a very similar experience in high school that you did. I was bullied, didn’t have friends, and just felt like I had to survive day to day. I graduated early to get away and it was the best decision I made. I went to college, loved it, and started going to concerts and doing meet and greets for all my favorite artists and started to live my best life. It definitely had an impact on my mental health which wasn’t good to begin with, but I made it though to the other side. We both did. ❤️ I still suffer from anxiety and depression but music pulls me through and Shinedown and their concerts has definitely been a part of what gets me through the hard times.
I’m so jealous 😂I went to my first festival in September just to see Shinedown. I’m 68 had to go in a wheelchair went right down in the pit. I had a ball every one was so nice.
I met the band multiple times they used to do CD M&G. We bought their CD Amaryllis during that tour 1st show & met the band. Loved them from that night. I always connected with Brent and Barry they would just talk & talk. I went to their tour bus & me & my husband got to talk to Barry & got pic with him & with Brent even though he wasn't feeling well. That was TTS tour. Just sweet guys all of them.
Very sharp and rude transition to incomprehensible improvisation in the middle of the song and a guitar solo is not needed here, album version is better.🤔
