I've owned an Xperia Arc.. and now an Xperia SL. Sony phones are EXCELLENT. I highly recommend their phone. they are just top notch and really REALLY underrated.
Just bought it ! Sony really thought of everything when making this phone ! It is SUPER fast, super easy to use. The program used for usb/backup is very fast and i configured it in like half a minute ! Movies are truly amazing ! This is one of the best price/quality phones out there
I'm watching this with my Xperia Ion. I would agree with the long time for the camera to focus in low light places and with the low volume with the speakers but it aint too low. I'm still happy with my Xperia Ion.
Just got this phone 2 days ago and love it. And today they released Ice Cream Sandwich for it so now its even better. the only drawback at first was the old OS now there is no complaints.
I've had the Ion since September and I'm very happy with it. Battery life had me worried but I got the app to turn off LTE,and I can get a full day out of it. And thats using it texting,youtubing,etc all day at school.

The reason why I chose this phone 3 years ago was because I have used Sony Ericsson phones before and it was great (mid 2000's) when Nokia was the king LOL. I went for this model because I liked Sony and it has 12 MP during that time that was actually high and because it has hdmi port and ps comatible. However, after a year, everything went sour. My mic failed so everytime i make a call, I need to have a headset ready. Then it lags ALOT. Freezes alot too. Then it was just recently that I noticed the drop in battery life. Sure it has already deteriorated . There are times I needed to charge 2 times a day to stay above 50%. Well sure I have overcharged the phone sometimes but it's definitely not until lately. I'm just happy I made a swtich to Samsung. Yes I got the Galaxy Note 4 now :) Sony you better improve your phones.

Not Google's problem. This is Sony's problem. The source code was released a long time ago. Sony choose to release the phone or delay it to update it. It will updated in a month or two.

Hardware on even the Galaxy S3 running on ICS can be laggy and isn't always a smooth experience. The only lag-free experience is on a Galaxy Nexus & the Nexus Q running Jelly Bean, which this phone most likely won't have for the foreseeable future. It seems like a pretty fair review.
Both Phones are very similar but the ion is bigger so you can decide either the Cheaper one or the smaller screen but slightly higher price. I hoped I could help. Good Luck :)
dunno about the other phone but i got the xperia ion and i really like it! the only thing is since i live in canada winters can get pretty cold and when it goes below -15 degrees celsius the phone doesnt recognize the sim card anymore and it jsut becomes useless...but nonetheless its a pretty neat phone!

Actually, it's AT&T's problem. Look around, the international versions of Xperia ion all come with 4.0 installed. Only the AT&T version comes with GB. Guess it's because of the AT&T bloatware.
I bought the htc vivid 3 months ago. It has super LCD screen which is pretty good looking, but it was dropped and it cracked bad. So much for great looking screen.

at&t is an american wireless communication service provider, carrier, and that is their logo, like many phones have t-mobile written on them, which carrier you probably know too, an unlocked or global version of the phone doesnt have this logo
Not only 19% faster, its much more efficient too, considering the Krait architecture. The screen is up for debate, while the camera is definitely better. But, it won't sell. Why? Because it has a last-gen CPU and people don't like that. And people don't buy Xperia phones blindly. Its not iPhone or even a Galaxy flagship. Cold facts. I want Sony to do better but releasing one flagship after another with underwhelming specs is not going to turn it around for them.

This process takes about half a day to 1 full day. When that's done, all the actual number of views are then added. Hope this helps :)
i think that these critics rather american critics really dont like anything about the Japanese Phones. i have been using xperia line up for a long time now and tell you what they are awesome. i have xperia arc s, xperia ion and xperia z and no one matches their quality in any way especially the design, display and camera.

The front facing camera on the Blackberry playbook shoots 1080p! It's pretty awesome.
Did you enable the xLoud feature? I've heard that it improves the sound from a few people, around the internet, with the phone.
It's not Sony's problem. It's AT&T's problem. Xperia Ion's sold outside the US already have ICS 4.0.4 installed.

AT&T has to test Sony's ICS prior to launch. The ion in China launched with ICS. Google it.
