"It's not made to go down the freeway at 160". Neither am I lol
Chase, you are wrong. FZ07 is a monstrous machine. You have to unleash it with an exhaust.
I can confirm, Full Akra Titanium without DB killer = glorious industrial deafness
جابر المغامر مول الزريعة هشام normally I would agree, however Suzuki and several other makers have managed to make great sounding stock exhausts, and I would say cuz it is such a affordable bike too so that might play into it, but I like how they changed the z650s stock exhaust. it is forgiveable cuz the bike is just so nice regardless. but it is a pain changing an exhaust just cuz u want to change its sound (not volume, in my case, just sound). I have put slips on but I am getting to the point where I don't want to have to mess with an exhaust and then a power commander to make it work rights. it adds up. this bike is just so nice tho
I've got an M4 exhaust on its way for my 2017 FZ07.
GSX 1000 F from Suzuki sounds amazing with original exhaust, so does the hyperstrada!
his review is unreliable
FZ-07 bolt shit on series Jake's going to turn a wrench this makes him a customizer!
I came from a GSX-R750 to and FZ-07 I wouldn't call it a beginner bike, but it is a bike you can buy and never need to get rid of because it's so versatile. I really like mine so far and it's got more than enough power for any rider that is using it for commuting and street use. I'd even venture to say you'd be able to get in more trouble on it rather than a bigger bike like the FZ-09.
Which do you like more the 750 or the MT07 ? Do you still own the MT? What makes you like one over the other and has your view changed at all why etc
@@Fee.1 I've moved on to a BMW 1250GSA that being said I would 100% still pick the FZ07 it was an overall more fun bike. This is also the reason I own the GSA since they are similar in the way the engine outputs power more torque than high speed and revs. The GSX-R750 just had speed on the FZ07, but lacked fun factor outside of that...
Dude I absolutely love your videos every single little piece of editing you do makes the video unique cannot wait to get a mic adapter for my GoPro to start motovlogging keep up the awesome work
7:00 casually goes past a cop going 57 in a 45 LOL
Most cops won't bite on 12 over.
Hey Chase, radiators aren't black because it isn't as efficient to dissipate heat. Mythbusters did a video on that. Black absorbs all light, therefore, gets hotter.
Or maybe because painting over a heatsink is pointless.
Very good stuff, Bro! I dig your passion for motorcycling that shows in each and every one of your reviews!
Great video chase I enjoy watching these keep it up !
Beautiful bike and I love your charisma in explaining your experience riding it! 👍
Just picked mine up this weekend! I agree with your review its a phenomenal machine, its worth every penny.
Love your vids I watch em all and I really like the fz09 thanks for the info your a big help and very entertaining
Love that distance view to see how upright you are! Dope.
Great video man, continue the very good job.
Was just in the dealer today, never spending anytime on a motorcycle they directed me to the fz07. I have my permit and taking the msf course this weekend. Your video has sealed my decision to pickup the fz07 as my first bike. Subed and liked. Thank you sir.
I was so stoked to see this! FZ-07 is my favorite bike in its class . Wish they had the red back in 2016 though... #c2warmy
Nice review man. I'm going to add one of these to my stable in the near future.
I bought this a month ago after seeing your review. Never been on a motorcycle before (don't even got a license yet), I don't even like bikes...it's massive fun, probably one of the coolest things I've ever had.
George J93 savage
“I dont even like bikes” - buys $7000 bike
I really wish the price of this bike was cheap to me lol
Utkucan K No one else knows what you said
Sometimes someone's best bet is a good condition used bike
Ben Böcek Then why not just say that?
Draven Alexander he did, in Turkish I think
You have easily the best glamour shots of any UA-cam vlogger
Man, I just love your videos, you explain all you have to know on a bike really really good. Can you do a review on the new KTM RC 125?
"FZ 07 Bolt Shit on series, im gon turn a wrench that makes me a customizer" i hate you jake thats so stuck in my head
Not sure why you would want modes. Your right hand has modes. Use it.
Thank you! I thought I was the only one.
New riders
It's an option that you don't need but it's nice to have. Just like a gear indicator on a motorcycle. You don't necessarily need it but it's nice to have.
@@FirstNameLastName-wo7li I hear you. I'd rather have a gear indicator though.
@@blindy9897 It feels a bit like a crutch though. Fine throttle control is essential and not hard to learn. Much better than relying on the bike to babysit your whiskey throttle. That being said I get what you're saying. I just would hate to see other people not learn properly.
This is my first and current bike. I love it, definitely a good choice for a first bike.
still have it?
I enjoyed your review. Thank you!
that bike looks awesome and fun to ride if I want to get a starter bike, I might get this bike love the video Chase and the red gopro
I like that new rating idea. Love the fz07! I test round one and I love it!
I picked up a 2016 FZ07 back in October. I'm loving it so far. I use it to commute to work year round here in Northern VA and back road riding on the weekends. Very light, nimble, and plenty of torque. It's probably not the best for touring, but then that is not what it was designed for. This bike sounds pretty good once you put an aftermarket exhaust on it. Otherwise it is pretty quiet. I think this is an excellent bike for the price. Good vid by the way!
Thanks Bro. Giving serious consideration to this as my 2nd bike.
I feel you on this bike! I loved this bike as a first bike, now with abs it proves it can be. had a R3 for 600miles but it just didn't do it for me. got the 07 AND THE ROADS OPENED UP, Now I'm on a 09, the 07 got me there!
im about to get a r3, do you really think its not worth it? i have no motorcycle experience and just need a bike for back and forth to work
The R3 was my 1st bike 2015, put 600miles on it. Before I start wanting a bigger back tire. Then i jumped to a 2016 fz07, put 4000 on that. Wanted more power jump to a used 2014 1200miles fz09. About to pick it up from a dyno service. 3 modes. I can feel the r3, 07 and 09 when I want. The key to being a rider is to know if your going to stay in the game. Good luck I 💝my R 3 but wanted more, more, not I'm satisfied for now with the Fun-zone 09 original 2014 serviced-up!

Yeah, I started on a RC 390 last year, put 5200 miles on it, got a FZ-07 last week and it changed my life!
Great Review! You really nailed the bike for what it is. It is indeed an outstanding motorcycle. Except IMO. I would only recommend this bike as a first bike on a case by case basis.
I bought a new 2015. Been riding it 5 years. Still love it. I've been riding over 50 years.
Im sold! I was in between the xsr900 and the fz 07. It would be my first bike ever so that fact that this bike is good for starters and also can satisfy an experienced rider, got me! Yeah!
do a review on the kawasaki z650
Absolutely great video my friend, much like for the new grading system too. That's the only thing your videos lacked. I give this video 5/5 chase helmets!
The gear indicator was super helpful for me starting out. Now I feel way more comfortable and confidant shifting properly.
Nothing makes me more nervous than a driver who creeps up to a stop sign and their wheels never actually stop turning. That's when you start to think about an escape plan.
1:50 to skip Intro
I always read the comments during intro. Now I got this far.
The intro needs to be about as long as that dude in blue, straight and to the point. Then maybe add in glamor shots of whatever hes talking about along the way.
if the bike doesn't look good to my eyes, I dont see a reason to look close ups of it. If there is a bike that i like then of course i look the close up shots. Comments are usually more entertaining than the intro. But thats just my opinion :)
yup its too long, thank you
I wouldn't say I don't care. I'll totally agree, intro was long on this one, but if you watch it I feel like it flows with the song which is honestly my number 1 thing I think about while editing. If the song would have been faster paced the intro would have been shorter. Don't know if you care about that, but that's a little in site into why it's the length that it is. Thanks for watching!
Great review! I guess I'll be heading to my local dealer now...
5:59 that laugh man ! :D girlish but evil
like the helmet ratings,an this is a awsome bike review!
i bought an mt07 moto cage 2017 about 2 weeks ago, its a fking monster
I love the sound of this bike
This was the bike I learned on. Great bike. Road for a year now I'm on the fz 10.
Randy Warnock I’ve never rode a street bike but I have rode atvs and dirtbikes all my life could I start out on one of these or a r6 or something like that?
Parker Still you ever end up getting one ?
I purchased one and I love her.
That bike looks awesome!
buenos videos!! saludos desde Mexico
Good to know they're still keepin' it a 4-stroke. XD
Awesome bike, I just purchased it few days ago, just blue one with ABS! :)
The pixel helmet look like something from the old dirt bike game Excite Bike lol. Love it.
Got the exact same bike as the one in the vid. Had it for about 9 months now and it's more rewarding than giving birth (I imagine, idk im a guy)
Thanks for the awesome vid, this definitely helped me make my decision and I'm so god damn happy I did.
Nice color coordination chase!
now that I've seen your face your mannerisms make more sense compared to what I imagined and every video is different. I'm glad more motovloggeres have started showing their faces
I sat on this bike and wow it feels so good for me.
Intro so beautiful I wanna cry
Dude I love the colors red and black
For those that are interested, there are three FZ O7 motorcycles at Mountain Motorsports in Marietta. They're having a large deal on them because they have been taking up showroom floor for a while. Their price as of March 28th, 2018 is $5,635 for the non ABS model. And yes, there is one in red.
Just got my 2016 red tagged for 6,000! First bike...I love it.
Arghhhhhhhhhhhh You are so blessed. You get to test drive the 2017 FZ10 and FZ09 and now the FZ07 with ABS.I remember test riding a 2015 FZ09 and thinking.Great Engine.Suspension was a bit off.Than I got on a FZ07 and I was like.Where's the sound, the torque, the horsepower. Can I go back on the FZ09 though I must say the suspension was right on and the brakes we're good on the FZ07.
Are you going to do a review on the new kawasaki z650?
That was awesome.
Really enjoying your videos man! please doone with the bmw f800r
Can you do a video of the new 2021 mt07 I love the fz/mt lineup and I would like to hear your thoughts on the changes for 2021. Thanks
I got it as a first bike (with no prior riding experience) at the age of 25. I use it daily for my highway commute. But it's really made for city use or the twisties. Can't beat the price-to-bike ratio.
Denis Hanjoul what's it like riding on the freeway? Is the wind tolerable?
Depends on how tall you are (I am 1.90m (6'3")) and on the distance you're doing. For long stretches at +120kph (+75mph) I would recommend a screen for your own comfort. I've ridden with and without a screen for a certain period of time and prefer the screen, even though it compromises the look of the bike a bit in my opinion. I have a Dart Manta Flyscreen (dark tint) installed. Does a good job and makes cruising at 140kmp (90mph) no issue.
Denis Hanjoul thanks for your input, that's really helpful. I'm 6'4" and was wondering if there were any windscreens that would help for tall riders. I'll definitely consider the one you mentioned. Thanks again!
Denis Hanjoul I was thinking of getting it as my first bike as well with no prior experience. So did you think it was a good decision?
Definitely. Engine is super smooth, plenty of mid range power. Throttle can be snappy, but it all depends on how you modulate it.
But since I use the bike for my commute to work (which is 95% highway use), I am considering swapping it for the 700 Tracer. Just because that bike is a little bit bigger and offers more wind protection.
You should definitely review the Kawasaki z650 and compare it to the fz07.
The z650 is trash and not at all comparable to the mt07. The z400 is a better bike than the z650, just save the money and have more fun as the 400 revs higher
watch 17:40 at half speed
That's pretty great actually
He sounds drunk
i like watching them a 2x the speed.
Thanks man, I pissed myself laughing!
dead bruh
This is gonna be my first bike
I've started watching your videos in the last couple of weeks and have enjoyed the sequences where I can tell where you are based on the scenery (am a fellow Atlantan). Based on your travels, which part of the metro-Atl would you say consists of the most courteous drivers? Brookhaven? Vinings/Smyrna? John's Creek? Duluth? Kennesaw? other?
I don't like the way the front looks either, but slapping a small inexpensive windscreen on the badboy remedies the weird look. That's what I did with my 2016 FZ07
"Cheap" or "Small" motorcycle... It's like 8k MSRP, it's not a ninja 300.
I own a 2016 fz07 the back brake was mushy when i bought it but with an adjustment at the shop its alot better.
If you are really picky about finding neutral, that is definitely where Kawasaki shines lol
I just put an M4 exhaust on my 2017 FZ07.... BEAST MODE!!
I like your taste in music 👍
Same as the last fz 07..would love one on the new z series bikes.
Just turned 16 and probably will start the driving course in a month or so, looking to get a bike in May and FZ-07 is looking like a great option!
I started on a 750 Honda with 80 hp, and while it was a lot of power for a newbie, never did I once feel like it was too much to handle. Only one speeding ticket on it in the few years I rode it 😂
im 16 and i hate that I started on a Harley, dont get me wrong I love the bike and I think its a great starter but I started watching all these motovloggers with sportbikes and naked bikes and it makes me want to sell my sportster and buy a more sportier bike.
Nick5220 - you can do stupid stuff on a harley too. Being 16 you may have not realized the grass is greener effect. Throw an S&S big bore kit on if you've got an 883, really wakes it up without blowing insurance through the roof. Fz 07 had insurance as expensive as much bigger bikes (for an older experienced rider) due to newbie squids crashing them doing wheelies...probably. 50 horses is better for new riders than 75.
I have the exact opposite feeling, I bought the 2017 MT-07 ABS and am already thinking about a scrambler or cafe bike. Hell, I even sat on an 883 the other weekend!
Do it. They're more fun. Period
While i was 13, i started with Ninja 650
Go for it, I’m thinking the same thing
BEST INTROS EVER. BRO KEEP THAT SHIT UP
I have the Australian learner apporved version of the FZ 07 (MT 07), and it's had ABS since 2015. I have the 2016 ABS MT 07 in Race Blue and Silver as a first bike. Excellent bike, has butt loads of torque and power, even for a de-tuned and bored down (655cc) engine. In my opinion, it doesn't need modes (even the "high output"), it doesn't have quite enough power for it, but it still scares the shit out of you if you chop the throttle accidently.
I would really like to see you review the 2017 Kawasaki Z650. I own one and absolutely love it, maybe some riders who don't quite fit the FZ 07 or love it would love the Z650
Awesome bike
I think the pixel helmet ratings is a great idea
What is the camera and charge kit you use? They look awesome!
Great job with these videos! I'd like to see you test the XSR 700 and compare to this one.
they don't sell the XSR 700 in the us only the 900
Oh, ok. Thank you for letting me know!
Z900 and ninja1000 chase! lets go !! :D
nice. would be great if you could make a first ride of the new z650 and compare the two
Ref long term riders.. I've had Fireblades, GSXRs, CBR1100X etc but now I have one of these (with a screen!) and it's the most fun I've had. I miss the 160BHP sportsbikes about 3% of my riding time, the other 97% is more fun on this! You can thrash it!
Glad my claims can be backed up!
please do 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 nxt
#c2wfr
I think they updated the model as well as added a naked version too. That'd be good to see.
Z650 naked version imo
Yeah, that one is preferable actually, I think the fully fared version is still consistent with Chase's previous review but I think the engine is updated
The dash is much improved and it lost like 40 pounds of weight too. :)
Yes, please review the 2017 Ninja 650 & or its naked companion the Z650! Also the new pixel rating works nicely with your other ratings within the video and blog.
I noticed something when I hit that 1,000km (600m) mark, there was just gobs of more power on the 2017 MT-07 ABS. The front end would lift with just a little flick of the wrist in second gear.
Best learner bike on earth
8 bit is always welcome.
im alot older than you guys so i now have a 16 can am spyder. im always 2 up as well. thanks for taking me for a ride its still winter here
Larz Man But what's with that "i am alot older than you guys"
he is old, lardy and lazy. An therefore he has a three wheeler... it's kind of immobility scooter.
Miika Venäläinen whats with all the rude replies. for bikers you guys really have a lot of hate. enjoy your miserable lives
Larz Man ...for a "biker" you seem to able to take amazingly little slagging :P
Larz Man Ok.
Yeah the go pro is awesome
Did they get rid of the digital "sweep" the gauge does? I love that about mine. Makes every start up amusing.
What music is chase using, my god i'm getting in love in this style of music, and I cannot find more about it!
Can confirm, wind protection is garbage and it makes freeway riding suck. Can also confirm that this bike taught me how to wheelie because of its weight/torque delivery/wheelie-friendly geometry. Your first ride on it back in 2014 was the final determining factor in the end.
If I did everything all over again knowing what I know today, I would very likely still end up getting the FZ-07. It's just too much fun!
Thanks for your insight on this Yamaha. Would this bike be ideal for a shorter rider, around 5'6"? I'm looking to start riding soon, so I want to get this one if you think it would be ideal for a first time rider. If you don't think this one is right height wise, what would you recommend that is similar to this bike? Thanks in advance for your input.
do the 2017 Z650! It's kawasaki's naked bike version
It's a great starter bike for sure - a good cheap bike if you want to thrash on it at the expert level. But, I would still rather pay the extra $$$ to get the soul of a Monster... or a bike like my Iron - something that doesn't feel cheep all over.
Any chance you could do the Kawasaki Z650 next?
