What a shame. I used to go to TN all the time back in the 1990's. Back then, Nashville was a best-kept secret. TN is going through the same thing we are in Florida: too many "newcomers."
Because of all the realtor and internet hype, Tennessee does NOT have anywhere near reasonable housing or rentals anymore. If ypu come here and buy a $250,000 to $300,000 house you will likely need to spend $40,000 to $ 80,000 to fix what you will discover is wrong with it. Those trees are beautiful until they grow to tower over your home because your neighbors planted them on the edge of their property where they will fall (most are not very sturdy trees) on YOUR house, not theirs.

Most are from Illinois and they say the cost of housing near Knoxville and Nashville is higher than where they left in Illinois. They are struggling financially now but wouldn't move back. Talking with them was a large factor in me turning down a job offer near Knoxville. I had a couple of offers near Memphis but that was already not an option because of their reputation. Hopefully the “conservative “ crowd finds another place to relocate. As a nearly lifelong resident of Tennessee (only out for college med school and post graduate training) I have witnessed a crime element with an up tick in mass shootings etc.. It’s well known conservatism=too many gun rights. We were once the cleanest and quietest state. With the changes we have an excess of guns , violence and the violent Trump rhetoric. So please tamp it down as the Trumpers tend to be loud and obnoxious. You will not be so at home if you succeed in disturbing the peace for us all.
Ok, so first let me say I’m a native East Tennessean . My family have lived in East Tennesse since this country was a country. Many folks call us “hill billys” because of our love of the mountains and hollers where we live. We have a keen appreciation for our rights and an understanding of why they are necessary. All of our rights . So my roots and investment in East Tennesse has very deep roots. So I believe I have a dog in this fight and the right to say somerhing here……I have many family members who served in the military, myself among them. And the majority of my family members have guns. And were introduced to them at an early age. We used them to hunt, eliminate threats to our livestock , and for recreation shooting and for self defense. I know many examples from the members of my family where a gun as saves people’s lives and prevented people from dying. We are taught that guns are tools, and that guns aren’t what kills , it’s the person pulling the trigger. A lesson grasped by a 8 year old with his first BB Rifle , but apparently not understood at all by adult democrats, liberals and anti second amendment people. And folks like you. There is no such thing as “ too many gun rights. This is an opinion, your opinion. We are guaranteed the RIGHT to keep and bear arms . To refresh your memory, the Second Amendment says “ A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed “……….so in reality, any law that infringes or limits the people in keeping and bearing arms is unconstitutional. And gun control laws do not work. Look at the cities with very strict ( and unconstitutional!) gun laws like Chicago , NYC, and areas in California. Those restrictive gun laws have not changed gun violence in those cities. In fact those cities have some of the highest numbers of gun violence and gun death. The thing that Democrats and folks like you can’t seem to grasp, is that criminals don’t obey laws. And they will, always be able to get guns. Instead of realizing that gun control laws aren’t effective , and looking into the root cause of gun violence, investing in a rigorous mental health care system, and ensuring that mental health care works closely with police and the public, , democrats and folks like you, double down and try and enact even stricter laws. Admitting you are wrong is the mark of a intelligent , responsible adult. To keep on repeating your mistakes and then blaming everything and anything for the reason it doesn’t work is childish and stupid. And speaking of gun statistics, did you know how deceptive those state is are? For the recorded gun deaths , suicide by a gun and accidental gun death are included. And the number of suicides by gun is larger than the number of gun homicides . But anti 2nd Amendment people don’t mention that , now do they? . . It doesn’t fit the narrative of gun bad, gun kill, eliminate gun, no more gun kill. What you don’t understand is the purpose of the Secomd Amendment and how it effects our other rights. You know, the right free speech, to practice whatever religion we choose as we see fit, the right to peacefully assemble, freedom of the press, the right of trial by a jury, freedom from excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment, and freedom from unreasonable search and seizure. I would suggest you do some research into the many documents the Foinding Fathees left that show their reasons, opinions and thoughts about our rights and freedoms.
@@teresahiggs4896 Might as well say laws don't work so why have any... because that is your argument. Nobody - and I mean nobody - wants to take away non-AR type weapons from honest, law-abiding citizens. Many many many MANY democrats are gun owners. What they want to do is ensure the people using them are trained, like you. Too many bubba's with "watch this" mentality... you know as well as I do many see them as TOYS to play with and get attachments for... not the killing devices they actually are. ... and what drives me crazy is everybody says drugs are bad, but a drug never popped into someone's mouth. "Guns don't kill, people do!" okay now do that with opioids and fentanyl and stop caring they come over the border, because they too are inanimate objects. It takes a person to pull a trigger or put a pill in the mouth. Also you say it protects other rights... remember when the government went OUT OF IT'S WAY to involved itself into Colin Kaepernick expressing his 1st amend? The top gov official did that, where's the outrage... remember, it's okay for YOU to not like his kneeling, but the government attacking him is literally anti-first amendment in broad daylight. When I was in the military my NCOs always said, "I may not like that some disrespect the flag, but I will fight to the death to ensure they have that right" Where are these conservatives today? I am not anti-gun. So long as the folks who use them treat them as the tools they are, and not the 32nd cool toy they bought with a basement of ammo because some internet influencer easily tricked them to spend on that while their kid goes without lunch money. AND why on gods earth does everyone forget the well-regulated militia part? You want to talk about founding fathers... well... they literally said REGULATE in the amendment. All democrats want to do is live in a safe society, like you. Saying because someone was killed means laws don't work is the same as saying traffic laws don't work because someone swerved into oncoming traffic. Ridiculous circular reasoning that makes you sleep better at night I guess.
Apparently you are completely tone deaf to your Left wing friends. There’s no one more obnoxious than the Left with their “if you don’t agree with everything we say, then we’ll label you a hater” bs.

More people need to adopt your mindset. Blue minds need to move to blue states; red minds to red. Liberals like you and conservatives like me are so different; we have very little in common. We really need to have a national divorce and create two countries. But until that happens, your mindset is one that should be adopted. Blue to blue; red to red.

Bringing Democrat ideology will ruin the state.Daughter just left. Traffic unbearable.
Bringing any ideological clamor to any State will ruin your retirement. I serve one God. Everything else is just noise.
There are some pockets with very bad traffic for sure!
I like you! Kindred spirits!
So traffic is a Democratic creation? LOL
I appreciate your insights and concern for the community.

Trump 2024 - FOR PRISON
The food in East Tennessee is awful. There are almost no small restaurants and it's almost exclusively fast food.
There is no way I would ever move to a far right wing Bible belt state like Tennessee. Forget it.
Good for you ..TN doesn't want you.
@@Bruised_Reed1It’s so sad that we have devolved to an us vs. them mindset.
@@rogercvc6768 , for decades the left has been vilifying and demonizing conservatives. They have been working themselves into a self-righteous frenzy where they feel justified in eliminating us.
Thanks for not coming. Spread the word
terrible. Hickish, total Trump country. sure, it's a nice moderate climate. However, what price to pay, culturally?
Sounds like you're describing a place that makes you want to trade your latte for a sweet tea! 🍵
Well considering Memphis is nearly 65% Black I'm not surprised, and no I'm not a bigot its just facts
thank you for having the courage to state facts. America does not have a race problem; America has a problem race.
Racist.
Memphis is 64% Black. Could that have anything to do with high crime rates in Memphis? 🧐🫤
Racist
