I owned 3 for 10 years and now I teach classes to kids. Owning a black owned nail salons are hard work. Not only are we not privileged to get the loans and business funding as most businesses. We get the hate of our own color. Either you get jealousy or just not supported. Although I won nail tech of the year several times in my city. The other issues still are there. We gotta fix this.

If you live long enough you'll see homeless people from all types (I've been to 13 countries and have seen it everywhere) and its not a race thing at all, its a mental breakdown. Many years ago I was walking with a friend down the street and a homeless man asked for change and I brushed him off quickly. The friend stopped me immediately and said, my mother is homeless, she has her doctoral degree but had a nervous breakdown from a family tragedy. She is not an alcoholic, a drug addict or from a gambling addiction, it was just one family emergency and it took her out. Some people just have mental breakdowns and can't handle life anymore or has always had mental illnesses and can't cope anymore. That friend also mentioned that in the future when someone is homeless, who may ask you for help, please be a little nicer. This was over 30 years ago and I have never forgotten that and that friend was a wonderful person, who has now passed away. However he changed my life for the better, before he left this world. All homeless people belong to someones family and we don't need to make it any harder for nobody or think the worse about everyone because remember, it can also happen to us with one emergency.
