Awesome licks! already addicted to looping them. Thanks for the lesson dude, these hot chicken picking licks will definitely help with the surviving :)
Seriously, thank you for these tips. I feel like I have so much work to look forward to and then wayyy more options at my fingertips (no pun intended). Gonna be so much fun.
The only way to build speed is to repeat it for hours. And when you’re practicing you have to make sure you’re playing precisely and you have to push your limits a little bit constantly.
All I can say is...wow. I started out picking with my fingers. I got pretty good. Then I quit playing for 30+ years. (Had nerve impingement in my neck, then surgery (fused 3 vertebrae), healed, recovered ...) Now I'm playing again after all those years, cuz i still had music in my head that needed to get out. It's been almost a year that I've been playing again since i was able to practice long enough to get callusses on my fingers. I've learned to use a pick and do the "chicken pickin' thing (a pick and one or two bare fingers)...but i can't get the same sound (tone/timber OR volume) with my bare fingers as i do with a pick. It's ok for most things, but it REALLY makes a difference with fingerstyle songa, and now these banjo rolls. The notes don't match each other, if ya know what I'm sayin'. So, I'm wondering...when you do those banjo rolls, are you just doing it with bare fingers? Or are you doing it with a pick and a couple of bare fingers? I sure hope you'll reply! Cuz I need help with this, to know which way to keep trying! I'm all about "technique," cuz I have a sound, so i don't want to spend a long time just trying to master picking a certain way and not being able to learn new music, licks, etc, because I'm trying to learn to hit the right strings with a new method! I hope that makes sense.
Muito legal saber que vc é aqui da terra da linguiça kkk... Ainda vou ter uma guitarra do seu pai... Fe preferência se ele fazer uma les paul.. abraço e boa sorte
