Thank you all so much for the support, I really appreciate every single one of you!
Until next time, peace!
I still can’t hear “Raggedy Man, good bye” without a tear in my eye
100% I love this episode so much
it hurts more when she says "good night" you know what I mean
@@Cornberry And when I finally stoped crying I see your comment... now I need another paper towel 😭
Cornberry gets me weeping every time...
@@failwhale34 how has the series evolved since the first episode u watched ?
River keeping her eyes on the angel while the Doctor has his breakdown...
She blinked tho
@@jordenthomson9551 The angel was really weak due to the paradox, so the blink didn't give it time to move fast enough to send them back in time as well.
Which is why Amy had time to turn around at the doctor and say her fair well before she was taken also
She also kept the brakes on while piloting The TARDIS because The Doctor loves that sound it makes.
@@jordenthomson9551 she blinked when the doctor looked at it
The Angel was still weak, too!
I don't know if someone told you, but during the filming of this episode and the last page scene, Matt Smith could not go through the process of reading the page. Karen Gillan sat next to him and read the letter out loud for him and they both started to tear up
I saw his reading the last episode with him and he was in tears and Moffat needed to hug him
The fact that River tells the Doctor "Maybe you'll listen to her..." though... there is nothing about Matt Smith's run that isn't absolutely perfect
These are very well written characters I wish we had more of the ponds but every story has it's end
So.... you asked if 11 could have some darker moments. Ask and you shall receive! hehehehehe... *sniffles* hehehehe......
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
River kept her eyes on the angel the whole time. The doctor gets to have his breakdown, while she loses her mother and has to keep her eyes on the angel constantly.
"They're definitely not going to kill rory..." I started tearing up too soon.
Laughs in Moffat.
don't worry he always comes back to life
@@NikkiTheViolist He didn't this time big man
If memory serves, this was a midseason finale and the end came out of nowhere. It received mixed reviews, but it's one of the best farewells for a companion. I love that they went for it.
I think it was hyped up in the papers that Amy and Rory were leaving soon. It wasn't officially revealed when, but the fact that the Weeping Angels were back and that there'd be a break after only episode 5 gave it away. The plot as a whole gets a lot of flack, but the farewell is top tier.
Alex Cooke I thought the plot for this episode was brilliantly devised and intriguing. Very, real....
The only thing I don't like about this episode is the Angel of Liberty, I never realised it got any hate past that
@@georgelinford5576 yeah, the Statue of Liberty thing was just a bit silly. Everything else about this episode was top notch in my opinion
I've been crying since 2012 for the last scene.
When reading the last page at the end Karen gillan was sitting next to him reading out loud the words to him.
yeah he cried on set after also
I actually watched that scene from the bench they filmed on. It’s still in Central Park today
One small detail of that farewell scene. The Doctor in all of his sadness & rage, losing his best friend, puts his hands to his eyes. Forcing himself to blink so maybe he could get swept away too.
All the while River is looking dead pan at the Angel as to let her grieving husband feel his pain. River lost both her father & mother then too but just took it like a champ.
It's a subtle thing but so powerful.
I wonder what it would be like if one of them hit the doctor, would he go to 7000 years of Christ?
From the girl who waited pining after her imaginary friend to the madman in a box who couldn't let go of the only person who saw him as wonderful.
What a character arc for Amy Williams.
The music when they’re falling off the building is amazing.
Scott Redding it’s called together or not at all, you can listen to it for free on Spotify!
@@intouchdm oh man that song makes me sob I can't control my emotions with the Ponds
Together...Or Not At All.
My favorite companion ending. I love the tie in that comes full circle. In her first episode: "Amelia Pond, sounds like a name out of a fairly tale" to her last: "this is the story of Amelia Pond, and this is how it ends". So beautiful.
I always cry when amy says "there is a little girl in a garden"
Oh ow ow ow ow. The "raggedy man" gets me EVERY TIME.
@JustSoShayla I remember crying along with you watching this episode😭😭😭
and its not the only time it'll get us :((((
“That being said” “that being said” “that being said” “that being said tho” WHAT WAS BEING SAID THOUGH
LMFAOOOOO man really came for me like that... that being said 😂😂😂
After so many years I’m still sat here crying like a baby
The end of an ERA. What’d you think of this episode? Also so lucky, I figured out my set up properly intime for this episode! 1000 likes and we’ll drop P.S. on the weekend ✨✨✨ love ya!
failwhale34 you are officialy in 2019 - Advertising air pods
There are 3 other minisodes first.
Please watch miniseries theyre just as sad
Watch the goodbye ponds video that's the behind the scenes of this episode! Don't have to react but is worth a watch.
The only thing I dislike about this episode is the Statue of Liberty. While the idea is certainly cool, in "the city that never sleeps" how would it get around without being seen? It's a bit far-fetched.
I particularly like how Amy and Rory left in the middle of the season instead of at the end as usual. It's more like classic Who were companions came and went mid-series.
'Day of the Doctor' notwithstanding, I think Moffat pretty much peaked here. It has all his motifs and fingerprints and delivers a knockout punch in the final act.
This is the most emotional episode in the series for me.
Same. I know what is coming but i cry EVERYTIME!
This and End of Time are my weak spots. Nothing’s hits me harder than them two.
Poor river having to have to stare at the angel while the doctor grieves
Hats off to Murray Gold. The music in this episode, especially the graveyard scene at the end, REALLY brought out the emotions.
Me post this episode: “I don’t think I can ever like anything in Dr.Who again!”
Ten minutes into the upcoming Christmas special ...
“Crap. I’m already in love with the series all over again ...” 🤦♀️
Man this episode always hits different. Amy and Rory were my very first companions, so their departure always upsets me the most. I cry everytime.
(Commenting before watching the video)
This episode hits particularly hard immediately after watching 7x04, mostly because I felt the focal point of 7x04 was on Brian, and not the weird cube invasion (which explains the quick resolution for the cubes). It was important to write Brian as a good character to make us empathise with him. The Doctor even stayed with this guy for a year. While "Raggedy man, goodbye" from Amy hits SO hard emotionally, the realisation that the Doctor also let Rory's dad down is the icing on the cake that I didn't immediately realise on my first watch. Remembering how Brian felt at the end of 7x04, saying that the Doctor was good for Amy and Rory and trusts him to keep them safe, only for a single moment of carelessness in the next episode to take it all away, summons a lot more onion-cutting ninjas into your immediate vicinity.
This is the biggest tear jerker for me in the history of Who, it’s still just as raw now as it was when it first aired.
Roll on the Christmas Special.
the direction and storytelling in this episode whew
The thing that has always got me about this episode was the realisation that the Doctor never cared about Rory beyond his connection to Amy.
Sure, he liked him well enough but when push came to shove, or a light touch in this case, he clearly couldn't have gave two shits about him. He didn't care that Rory was gone, he only cared that he would lose Amelia, regardless of the fact that living without Rory would destroy her more than living without the Doctor would destroy Mrs Williams.
It's one of those moments of pure unbridled selfishness combined with raw empathy that defined 11 so well.
Brilliant comment
I honestly disagree. He did care for Rory. It's obvious he did. Back when Rory wanted to stand guard at the pandorica, the doctor was worried for him. He didn't want Rory to be hurt or in danger. When he talked about losing them, he always talked about losing them both. He loved them both. But yes, I would say he cared about amy more. But he didn't want any to leave him, yes for selfish reasons, but not the selfish reasons you think. I think he didn't want to lose both members of his family. He had no idea if he could ever do anything to get Rory, in fact he probably knew he couldn't. He couldn't bear that. It's obvious from how upset he is. And when Amelia wants to be with him, it's tearing him up that he can't do that for her. He can't bring him back. So of course he want any to stay, he doesn't want to lose them both. But when it's all said and done, when he remembers this period. He remembers them both. Amy is a fixture in the rest of 11s run. And she remains a facet of 12/13. Rory is there too, jokes and memories about his time as the last centurion. He was selfish yes, but not because he didn't care for rory. Because he also cared for Amelia. He didn't want them to leave him. Not both of them.
I personally disagree with the statement that The Doctor couldn’t give two shits about Rory.
I’ll agree that he loves Amy more than Rory, she was the first face he saw after regenerating and all that - they have a special connection, but he still cared for Rory the Roman. It’s just, from the Doctor’s point of view, he was already dead. It was fixed time. There was no helping him. Amy could still be saved, so that’s what he focused on.
Just my personal opinion, though. I respect your take on it.
Sorry to say but I totally think you are wrong. Whenever he had the “Talk” with Amy. He always says he would miss the both of them. He loved Rory. He only loved Amy more because he knew her since he regenerated into 11 and he was her friend since she was little. As underrated as Rory was, he always complained about the doctor for something. But that didn’t stop the doctor from loving him.
@@allthingspaper3247 And, after the paradox was resolved... he kissed Rory first. That has to count for something :)
Never clicked on a link so fast
The doctor: amy
Rory: I'm here to
Yeeeeah, that wasn't a good look on the Doctor. Screaming for Amy, when Rory's dying, too. Rory deserved better than those two, really.
StormWolf
Kinda why I wished that it was just Rory who jumped
@@ms_scribbles Amy got'' worthy'' of him, but the doctor...
The Doctor knows that if Rory dies it will create a paradox and it will bring him back, but since Amy didn't die earlier she wouldn't be creating a paradox and may have died for good. That's why he's screaming for Amy and not Rory.
@@Jag211313 But if Rory creates the paradox, Amy can't die either...
This episode is certainly a fan favorite. Your reaction was wonderful. I am personally excited to see your reaction to The Snowmen, the next episode. That one is one of my personal favorite Matt Smith Episodes. Looking forward to it, and thanks for sharing your reactions with us!
There a minisode after this you need to watch it

@@ajandrianjafymusic yeah
Remember in the Behind The Scenes for this episode, when Matt was shooting the ‘last page’ scene, Karen was there sitting next to him reading the lines as Amy and Matt just broke down in tears😩🥺
When this episode was first aired, everyone knew it was Amy and Rory’s last episode. It seemed to have so much more of an effect with you not knowing they were going.
This episode is horribly sad, but MAN this is literally one of my favorite episodes of the whole series. It’s soo so good
I love your Who reactions, have been watching for a while now... probably should subscribe actually, especially after this one. This was wonderful, really! And I agree it was the right thing and I love that Amy chose to be reunited with her Rory rather than remain with the doctor without him. It was beautifully done and your reaction to it was perfect.
I just realized that River's reaction to her parents disappearance shows that she's not the proper "companion" for the doctor. A time traveling "psychopath" just like him will have the reaction "it's fine, time is back as it was and that's what's important." Then ready to move on. He needs a HUMAN to be there, to cry, to feel the loss and refuse to let him forget it.
There is a mini episode after that, and after there is a christmas special BEFORE 7x06
Yh he already knows buddy
I'm ready to cry at this episode again
Cry along with me in real time 😭😭😭
@@failwhale34 the River and Doctor moments can help me smile through the pain haha
Im so not ready but here we go. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Did you make it out without crying
failwhale34 I never do same with Time of The Doctor. The only episodes I cry at everytime but this is so much worse knowing Amy and Rory cant come back.
oh the raggedy man gets me every time. like i have watched this episode like 25 times (not even joking) and i still cry my eyes out more than i would if one of my pets died. ok that sounds really mean but thats genuinely how much i cry😂
I cried my eyes out after this episode and took a 3 month break to recover from it. No kidding, i just stopped watching the show, cuz i couldn't imagine it without Amy and Rory
Don't worry. We all cried buckets after this episode. there's no need to hold it in.
Also, who else can't believe how many years it's been since Eleventh and the Ponds graced our screens?
I probably should've warned you about the emotional gut punch that you were going to get from this episode
I've seen this episode like 3 times at this point and I still start full on sobbing every time ahhhh it's too much love is too much
no matter how many times i see this I always cry not for Amy but for the Doctor.
i have no idea how many times i saw this episode... i tear up EVERY DAMN TIME !
Don't worry, it breaks up everyone. Everyone with a heart (or two).
"Raggedy Man, Goodbye" is a definite tear-jerker moment. But just wait for "Raggedy Man, Goodnight"!!!!! Get the tissues. Those who have seen the whole series know what I mean. BTW - there was a break after this episode and they had an Xmas special ("the Snowmen") in between.
Brilliant reaction. I was certainly in tears. It hits you every time you watch it no matter how many times you see it. Certainly a top 10 episode in Modern Who. Brilliant episode. Looking forward to the rest of your reactions for this brilliant Season.
Every time you said you didn't like the odds or it wasn't feasible, I just cried. No, no it really wasn't. That's what made it so heartbreaking :(
I will never be able to get over this episode.
Been waiting for you to watch this for so long! It never fails to bring a tear to my eye.
My favorite detail from this episode is that the last shot of young Amy looking up as she hears the TARDIS is from Eleventh Hour, it wasn't reshot or extra footage or something. At the time it looked like it was supposed to be a dream she had once we catch back up to her. But this suggests he really did go back to give her as much of a sign as he could
Watched this years ago
Still gives me tears
Karen had to leave to be Nebula. They’d also been traveling with him for so long.. Time to change up the story. No matter how heartbreaking. 🥺
A superb farewell episode for my favourite companions.
"Raggedy man" hits me so hard in the feels.
Goodbye to my favourite companions😭
At least we're one step closer to your DOTD reaction, can't wait!
Aw Man I can’t cope with your tears. Set me off here 🤣🤣
YES I WAS WAITING FOR THIS ONE! I still can't watch it without crying
Also, can we take a moment to appreciate river in the last scene? I mean, when amy needed her to, she blinked. And when amy got sent back to the past and the doctor lost it, she didn't blink, even though she had just lost her daughter.
The music in this, both when Amy & Rory fall and as Amy disappears, always makes me cry. I have both tracks on a playlist for when I'm feeling moody.
The scene in Central Park with the Doctor reading Amy's note - that wasn't Karen Gillan recording that afterwards and then it being added in post-production. She was sitting next to Matt Smith, just off-camera, saying those lines as the scene was recorded.
I've watched this episode so many times... like with reactions and stuff and I still cry like a little girl everytime
We've been waiting for this one!
my favorite companions just dying made me cry like I was at a funral
One sec he said he'll never be able to come back in the tardis to new york
Meanwhile.....

Nice recording! And for the reaction to the episode - this is gold! I can't help but cry. The best episode since the episode where Rory had a pony tail.
Been waiting for you to get to this episode. Especially with what you were saying in the previous episode about the 2 of them were about done story-wise.
I’ve been so nervous for you to get to this episode. Breaks my hearts!!! ♥️♥️
This episode broke my heart
I tested up editing this
I’m sorry I’ve gotta point out that after Amy and Rory got zapped back in time and the doctor breaks down it just cuts to him and river in the tardis, and nothing is mentioned about the fact that there is still a weeping angel in the graveyard with no explanation to how the doctor or river stopped it 🤣
This is literally probably one of my favorite episodes of the series. It's soo good.
That episode gutted me. forgot how painful it was. :(
And the little cherub angels were fecking terrifying
I'm no angel, only a mere mortal Whovian, *BUT I **_AM_** ... WEEPING!* (pun intended)
Though already knowing what'll happen, losing the Ponds still has me sobbing throughout watching this video!😭
Totally with you on this! Best episode of Series 7 (thus far!!)
I've been watching your reactions from the get go. I have enjoyed them all. Recently started commenting. I just wanted to thank you for posting your Dr. Who reactions. Giddy up!
Me: sees video title
My brain: funeral march
Thank’s for a great reaction to a great episode! 👏
It’s funny this shows even weeping angels have emotions and also have a kind heart
The theory is that the last few episodes in terms of the Doctors pov are after this episode and its why he clings to Amy and Rory a lot and also why he gets really dark
I cannot believe I can't even watch a REACTION to this episode without crying. goddamn.
21:45, won't somebody think of the children! Always love seeing how people react to that moment
I like this episode on for the fact that the future is not changeable once you KNOW what will happen. Hearing about it or only indirectly experiencing it won't make it set in stone. But knowing your future means it will not change. It CANNOT change.
I’ve waited for this day so long.
I'm watching this again now with headphones. It's going from one ear to the other. I love it
Great reaction! And the air pods look fine ... just make sure they're not those dodgy knockoffs from Cybus Industries!
John Mayhew I was thinking the same thing...lol. Loved this episode’s reaction!
I actually live near the park where the surviving angel appears at the end. I pass it frequently on my way into the city
5:20 I wonder if after you picked up those glasses you need, you kinda felt emotional remembering the episode lol
god damnit every time i see this episode the tears wont stop... breaks my heart every time..!!!!!
Mark 4:31. "Entertainment Tonight", showed us some fun behind the scenes of that episode. With other series like, "Law & Order", people would say that they don't care if you're making a show, they need to get through the location to wherever. But for this episode, fans were respectful and would wait and watch from behind crowd control barriers, until they could get autographs and/or selfies, as well as talk. 😎
We have been waiting for this reaction 😊 man, and you never disappoint 🤗 and you've got me crying all over again 😉Thank you 👏 Fantastic 👍
I've binged a load of your dr who reactions today and I've been waiting for hours for this one!! I forgot how heccin sad it is!
Yeah, the camera work on this episode is phenomenal. The lighting is pretty sweet, too, and the acting. However, I still have a huge problem with the Statue of Liberty being a Weeping Angel. Frankly, the thing would never move because there just can't be a time where *nobody* in the entire area is at least glancing at the Statue. For one, it's huge. For another, there are *millions* of people in the city, never mind the people who might be riding in an airplane over it, or sailing by it on a ship. And from the sound effects and the shaking going on, that means the thing is not doing the usual Weeping Angel split second movement, but is just stomping down the street to the building. No way would there be *nobody* looking at it especially then.
I usually hate reaction channels but you actually talk during the video making it entertaining
There's a Weeping Angel behind y-
Oh no
He has his airpods in!
*bruh.mp3*
19:36 beautiful slow music into WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING
And the giant TARDIS is coming up soon! Can't wait to see you lose your mind over that 😊
I was living New Jersey and heard that Matt smith and Karen and Arthur were coming to film in Central Park, i went to see them and there was tons of people, but I got the chance to see them from far.
I've been waiting for your reaction to this episode. So heartbreaking... Farewell, Ponds 💔
This was like my 20th time watching S7 E5, and I cry every time
River can't die yet. She already died in Silence in the Library to save The Doctor, It's a fixed point because he's already witnessed it. 10:00
