This ABANDONED Mansion Has Some DARK SECRETS

- Today we stumble into what is likely to be the most unexpected find we have ever encountered whilst exploring. This decaying mansion holds within it's walls a mountain of priceless art which appears to have been left to decay. We found items worth thousands that are now almost destroyed and covered in files. On top of that we find evidence of unsavoury people living in the building. One of the most confusing explorations we have ever done.

Norton really pulling of that 70's binman look!. Imagine how freaked the squatters would be to come back and find the demon picture hanging back up!.
Better with a beard , I didn't recognise him 😂
If there is someone staying there. Imagine how freaked out they’ll be to find the demon picture hanging above the fireplace after being on the floor lol. Strange place but a treasure trove of amazing things, shame it’s all been left to rot. Thanks guys ❤
Didn't even think of that!
That painting was by a famous artist. Matthew Stradling was famous for painting naked men, censored with fruit. @@upthehoe
Wow, that was insane. How can such a treasure trove just be wide open like that. That place will be an empty shell in a few months if they don't seal it up. Utter madness!! Great video as always! Up there with the best HoE content!
I don't think that's Mickey Rourke, it looks like Michael Portilo lol
It is!.
It's Porty the puff
Yeah the pompas prick!😂✌️
For sure
@@clonie9963 LOL
People wondering the castle isn't for sale. Its still owned by the family technically as well as the bank.. since this video it has been very thoroughly locked up as many things went missing soon after it was publicly known as a urbex location.
I'm glad they've shut it up. There's loads of valuable stuff in there - artworks, antiques, valuable modern furniture etc.
Spliff, brew, Hell on earth. Life ain't so bad!
Life's good❤
Hell on Earth 420 crew! Happy Tuesday 🌱😎🌞
Still waiting on my guy getting some.😢
Just rolled a fatty myself...and I don't mean shoved a fat kid down a hill..
Pretty much same yeah
The secret vault did this place a while back. The owner and the 5-0 showed up and then owner then tried to block their cars in. Apparently the owner was done for selling black market nazi stolen art or some shit.
Do you have a link or something. I've looked at the channel but can't find this video - thanks
This was…..just…..wow! Norton was right, not enough people are going to see to freaking appreciate. The clock works…amazing! Love you guys
This is actually unreal. How someone could just leave that stuff to be weathered away by the elements is beyond me. People are going to make bank on this stuff or vandalise it soon so they better lock it up before it's too late.
People leave stuff like that when they die, and nobody cares about the stuff they leave behind.
I think it's safe to say that this one, by far, is the most spectacular find yet guys, absolute awesomeness.
What a shame it's so accessible. I worked out that just 3 items in one of the rooms you were in could net a small fortune.
It really does need some security.
what a beautiful mansion! such a shame its been left to ruin, this sort of thing is heart breaking to see. just like our world, being torn apart and left to rot because no one cares any more. one of your best videos yet guys. thanks.
Would love to find out more about the situation of this place Norton i agree something feels weird about this location, this is a lot of valuable items to be left behind
@@nemesis2264 I like the fact we’re seeing this, but the thought of people breaking in to steal shit to support their filthy habits makes me sick.
I’m 14min in and there’s 3 groups of people just walking around in there. It needs security cameras and/or guards!
Absolutely criminal leaving art to rot and decay like that. Thanks for showing us around before it all disappears or get vandalised. Really hope it gets secured soon.
OMG! 😮This house is astoundingly beautiful let alone all the left behind beautiful things. This video is fabulous and it should be hours longer! Thanks for showing us around this divine mystery stuck in time that others may never see 😊
Your wee vase is called a jack-in-the-pulpit vase. Probably uranium glass at the bottom as well!
It's amazing how much of this place we didn't see when we went. But we were rushed for time only having an hour, and now I doubt we'll be able to go back lol. Oh well, it's a very cool and weird place. Nice video guys 👍
Looks like Spencer Mansion from Resident Evil
This explore was brilliant, love the outlook and the architecture
Nice one
As an art collector this pains me to see… I have a feeling this property was left to an incompetent relative after the owners death, I hope someone clears it out professionally and boards the place up before the idiot thieves and vandals find it 😩
My thoughts too
One of my favourites so far. Love the picture of Micky "Portillo" Rourke 😂.
I do hope this building has been secured, a few months on from this video and things could be much worse now.
Just because it's not lived in does not mean abandoned what right do you have to bathe into private property
The owner has abandoned the place but keeps getting mad when people go inside and reporting it to the police.
@@captainkenzie6873 Then the owner should clear this place up instead. It's like putting €50 dollar in plain sight on the streets, look at it untill someone runs away with it and be mad about it
I’m surprised Norton left!! All that amazing stuff!!!
setting up some trail cams about this place, to see the daily/nightly goings on would be interesting lol
Monitoring the wild crackheads n Gypo's in their nightly foraging!😂😁✌️
WoW ! Very nice spot. Out of all the stuff that is left behind, the one thing I would love to rebuild is that clock, I just love old tower clocks, Thanks again for the video.
Imagine the squatter coming back high af and seeing that picture on the wall that wasn't there before and freaking out ha ha 😂
Awesome video Absolutely freaking awesome guys. Norton your reactions to some of the artifacts was priceless love to see more of this place again
Criminal! To leave it like that, heartbreaking. I just lost my mum and dad and they were antique collectors and as an only child I've had to clear the property and it's really hard. This one hit hard. ❤
Speechless lads...f*cking amazing..place is minted. Some extradinary art work. I'm in awe of you guys ! Place needs sealed up and given to appropriate people ie. family or whatever.. it does not want to be destroyed. Epic.. absolutely epic 👏
Thank you guys 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I absolutely loved ❤
this episode!!!
@29m - LOL! Mickey Rourke. That's Michael Portillo 😂
Probably one of the most impressive places you've visited! Well done fellas. Truly hope it doesn't get smashed up or nicked.
Murano is an island by Venice that was famous for it's glass blowing factories, they made all sorts of ornate glass products.
This has to be one of the best places you've been to on your many explores.
What a find as it was spectacular, filled with countless treasures, loved it!
Gaz Norton had the right idea.... "Fetch it all home"!! 🤣
Definitely a once in a life time explore. I'm so envious. Keep em coming boys.👍🇨🇦
Will do!
I've wached all of your stuff. . this is the best one so far and the production is awsome. BTW - you guys have become an ubbeatable team.
Wow! So sad that it is left for thieves to come and take.. those two people were definitely on the steal and did not want to be seen.
Absolutely loved that! Hope the owners get the place locked down, as inevitably gonna get trashed etc if not. Ace episode!
Your lucky to have not met the owner... we did and it wasnt a happy day. You got in through the same window we did, which just goes to show that the owjner doenst care about securing the place.
I heard he's delightful and invites you to stay permenantly against your will
This place is open to the public but only the grounds as there is a deer population. Back in Jan of this year it was first broken into and since then more of the art work and other items have been stolen. Loving the video and this place has had quite the life 🐸👻💀
Where is it
stolen from who you know what i mean i doubt anyone owns that stuff that misses it
Love Norton's hair now like that guy off The Simpsons who Mr Burns told to shave his sideburns.
A mixture of late 70's porn star, with a touch of Florida Mullet
Damn. Sad to see all of that going to rot away.
There's amazing and there's AMAZING,holy shit i think Norton is right that place NEEDS shielding from undesirables, great find guys.
That place was amazing inside. That's a nice start to an expensive hoard. But the pieces of art, the clocks and bits an bobs of things were crazy good. Why on earth would anyone have so much and it just setting there yo collect mold.. makes no sense to me. Thanks guys. A true gem that place was! xx
Probably all concerned dead or otherwise detained
Matthew Stradling is represented in many art collections in Europe, America, the Far and Middle East. Born in Hertfordshire in south-east England, Matthew now works from his studio in North London. In 2001 he was selected by Sothebys to represent Britain in the 2001-2 Young Artist International Touring Exhibition and his portrait of his mother was selected for the BP Portrait Award Exhibition. In 1997 Matthew's work was included in the exhibition 'Likeness - Reflecting Sexuality' at Manchester City Art Galleries, an overview of contemporary artists whose work deals with issues around sexuality. Matthew was awarded a British Academy Scholarship to study for a Masters Degree in Fine Art at the University of Reading and went on to win the Boise Travelling Scholarship in 1990 , enabling him to continue his studies in Rome and Madrid. Whilst at St. Martin's School of Art, studying for an Honours Degree in Fine Art during the early 1980's Matthew was introduced to the painting techniques of the Old Masters , whose themes and vision continue to inspire him. He received First Class Honours in 1985
I'm not sure what's going on with this place. As far as I know this place did get bit of a happy ending after being derelict for a long time. I think it's now owned by a trust, don't think it's the National Trust though, and the grounds are open to the public, with a cafe and a play park. The last I heard the trust had got funding to do it up again. There are reviews on google maps dating to 2 months ago so, I'm not sure what's happend to it since then. Either the boys filmed this a while ago, or the trust has left and its gone to ruin again.
I like your comment and what you have to say but the story gets deeper the building was just given to a trust due to the individual being Russian his father is a Russian oligarch I believe the man who is in this Castle was assassinated by MI6 just like the other Russian family who was mysteriously killed in Scotland a month after Christmas the same trust has taken over their property also
@@bearlamb5026 interesting. Do you happen to know what the trust is called?
@@bearlamb5026 Do you have any sources for this info?
OMG! I can't believe the place looks the way it does. Last time I seen it was a few years back. You can tell people or who ever has been taking stuff and when I saw it, it was protected very well. It also had been in a movie. I can't hardly believe that it is unprotected and people are getting into it. I hope it changes before people take and ransacked all the good stuff. You guys were lucky to have come across it when you did. UNBELIEVABLE!
Loving Nortons ‘1980s East German lorry driver’ look. Nice work.
As you said you can search every where for one treasure, but then you find them in just one day ! Beautiful 🥰🥰🥰
Always looking out for the Wasp 🐝 xxx
this is one of those videos im glad you showed us but im also not glad because i just know people are gonna clean the place.
The fact you could walk around freely is insane. What a find, it literally had everything 🤯 great vid lads.
Criminal that so many things like that should be allowed to rot away like that .
agree
I totally agree but what do you expect in a society of greed n commercialism, so sad!😔✌️
This place is absolutely insane! Great find guys!
Holy WOOOOAAAH
What an epic find lads!! I imagine this ep needs an uncut version with how much you found in here!
THE CLOCK TOWER LAWD
THE ROOOOOF VIEWWWWW
ALL THE ARRRRT
THE BOAR
"This is really silly" AGREED
Such an amazing episode!! Been a bunch of fun catching up with the past couple o months of vids~ thanks for the banter and explores! Keep at it dudes!!
Followed you for quite a time and that is the biggest find EVER!! Fabulous!! Thank you chaps!
So the place belongs to the Golden Grove trust, supposed to be an art attraction that managed to gather the support of the council to the sum of £1M (i wonder where that all went). Really a shame its going to just sit, rot and be vandalised :(
So it seems you got in to make your video at a good time.
Way to go genius. One Google search later and anyone can be off to rob it now
I reckon part of the £1mil's been through those crack pipes
@@scud69erthose are meth pipes not crack pipes
Now the week has officially started
I had to put this one on the big screen. So much history. Hopefully they'll save it in time. Take care an be safe!👊
Damn !! can't wait to see Nortons ebay sales page with all those treasures :D
Nice explore, I see the council are still cutting Norton's hair 😯😯😂😂😂😂
This place is incredible its rare you find places this untouched and fully furnished
The artwork and books have always been the most painful part of the exploration experience 😊
Spot on guys!! Full Steam ahead!!Cheers!;-)!!
This is the best one yet, by a country mile. Amazing, you could spend days in there and still not see everything.
An amazing find. Some people have way too much money, than sense.
Those 5 bins sold in 2001 $22,500 Michael Landy the artist, cool channel by the way, wife and myself are binge watching, you have a great chemistry its funny just watching you have a conversation, just subscribed
Wow absolutely fascinating! Thank you so much for sharing! I so love these videos because I'm pretty much confined to my house and don't get out much. Both t thank you for sharing 👍!
What an insanely beautiful building. I hope someone gets it sorted before it falls into complete disrepair
The pic at 29.00 i believe is michael portillo former mp. Good video thanks.
Thanks!
“What is that?”.…”A time machine ”. Well, a very accurate statement! 😂
Great video guys, don't know why they would leave pieces of art like that behind. Sad to see them get eaten away by mold and moisture. That place was quite the find to explore. Take care guys.
Wow guys this was a really good one definitely one of my favorites. I'm watching from Bozeman Montana found you guys and been watching since .you guys are funny as hell too
Great video and exploration, this place was crazy, all the art just left around everywhere
Amazing find .Thanks for sharing your video 🇨🇦
Wow !! Just Wow !! If I could just go thru a place such as this . I could leave this earth a Happy Girl !!
There are literally tens of thousands of pounds in rugs alone sat in rotting in that place. Absolutely horrendous to see it all just going to waste.
MICKEY ROURKE! Hahhaha :) Brilliant :)
Alot of money and even more important the history that that place has is insane I don't think there is many of those clock towers with possibly everything needed to operate with some TLC. If you are a vandle or looking for something to steal to get your drugs please don't mess with this place if someone has stolen some lead roof flashings then the roof is leaking and it won't be long before the place starts to decay rapidly. 😢
Amazing explore. Top job fellas 🎉
That was an insane amount of art. Awesome vid
Just WOW!!! What truly amazing find, guys!!! I would have loved to walk through that place. I love your enthusiasm in discovery. I'm new to the channel, and damn where have you been my whole life with your channel.
On the weekend, I will be doing a binge watch. Love & Light from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
If you nicked all that stuff, you would need a building as big as that to store it all in.
Totally awesome film and music, just hope all the artwork doesn't get trashed
Really, really, really enjoyed this vid. Al looks super coolxxxx
"That's a mattress...." 🤣🤣🤣
It was used for a war film that place and theres a lot of props still there, seen it on other explorers videos
What a shame and pure waste!! Love the Art Deco bits and bobs xx
Another great explore I saw other explorers visit this site the other month a guy turn up in his car and tried to trap them and stop them leaving as he called the police he was told up the security looks like he hasnt
I think this is the best explore yet!!!
What a place. Full of random bits and bobs. Wonder what it was like when it was newer and lived in. It's really worn now with the walls all peeling and that. Bet there was quite a few creepy crawlies in there aye
It actually makes me kinda sad to think of this place being so open to people exploring and ruining it. I'm so jealous you got to see this in this state, once in a lifetime find!
LOL wasn't that Chris Packham rather than Micky Rourke? xD
There's got to be somewhere you can go to , someone..... loac authority to close this place up, it heart breaking to think that vandals can get in and smash it up 😢😢
This place is proper weird, would love to have a look at the history of it. Great explore as per.
One hell of an explore. Thank you!
The AH wallpaper is such a bizarre find and I want to know more about the story behind it lol
That’s crazy.. shorly the police or the council should have an idea who owns the property.. that definitely needs securing.
Not necessarily. Could be a shell company.
well I'm going to be late for work cos I had to watch it again with a beer . top fuckin video love from the lakes boys (: (: (: happy super sunday!
Ahhh fuck work. Hope you enjoyed your beer
Absolutely stunning. Love it.
Wow I could have watched hours of this. What an interesting property. ✌️
Wow so much money so much waste. Great explore.
That's just blown me away fantastic place one of the best great find lads 👍😜👏👏👏👏
That was absolutely incredible
