Have you ever been the only vegan at a wedding, and they bring your special vegan meal out before everyone else's? That happened to us at this wedding. I don't mind tbh but I can see how that situation would be a drag for someone with social anxiety. It's worth it though. Plus the food is better. Thanks to our hosts for looking out 👌🏼
So You're Dating A Vegan I was at a wedding last weekend and get a special vegan meal. It had pesto on it. (Not vegan) so that was cool.
My husband and I did that for my brother at our wedding (plank roasted vegetables, charcuterie style), then 6 years later we became Vegans ourselves =)
Airlines do that, too, and we LOVE it! Lol. Everybody’s jealous that we got served first and some even asked what we got ;)
yeah I would probably cry
what was in the pesto that wasn't vegan?
“It’s easier to be vegan when one of the brides is lactose intolerant” LOL
the way he said it xD i listened to it like 10x
I love how you show your human. You make mistakes, you acknowledge the mistake, then you go about explaining how that mistake could have been avoided. Cause let’s face it, we’re all human, we’re all super busy, mistakes happen. I’m also glad you show how it makes you feel emotionally first then sometimes physically. Keep on keeping on friend.
"I think we should watch earthlings"
Omg I'm crying at the random ASMR voiceover at the end hahaha love you guys!
riiiight lol
“stomach full of hypocrisy” 😂😂😂
2:56 She was so enthusiastic, lol. Good thing the food was good!
She seems like an asshole
LOL
Trish's Healthy Appetite I MEEEEEEEAN...👀 BRIMMING with enthusiasm!😂😂😂
Ashiya Nelson #RawVeganAthlete 🤣
Being that mean is a talent lol.
This was one of the funnier videos Duncan. Loooooved your dance..and your hat!! Loved how you filmed it.💞🌱
Wow I really enjoyed the way you shot & edited this vid. More please ✌
You looked gorgeous, Liz!
this is like my favorite youtube channel lmao i realized that i didn’t know how to answer that if someone asked me, but when i go to y’alls channel literally every video has been watched and i’m like “oh. ok. so this is one of my fav channels”
the asmr at the end had me laughin and feelin so satisfied. keep doin u , u two
Okay you two have finally broken me down I've been watching for a while and I finally subscribed. Just too goddam entertaining!
i’m so glad duncan didn’t freak out over eating something not vegan accidentally
Love your hair, Liz ♡
As a native Californian the desert areas are amongst my favorites because the beauty is spell binding and contrary to what some think, there is so much life.
Love! Love! Love! Your vlogs...or any videos y’all do!! Can’t get enough 😁
Fun as always! Beautiful reception and congrats to the newlyweds!!
You continue to impress! Thank you guys!
Lol!! I weirdly like the whispering ending 😆and that’s so considerate of u to whisper bc Liz is sleeping aww
I totally get how frustrating it can be when someone close to you is close to making the connection but not quite there. It can be so hard to toe the line between being 100% accepting of where they’re at and also wanting to gently push them toward certain realizations that you know would change their life for the better. I struggle with this with people in my life. I’m sure you are loving and accepting with Liz 99% of the time and she seems so open and accepting in return. Quite the opposite of what others have said, you are GREAT for veganism because of how you stand up for your beliefs, run this channel and all of the hard work you put into it. Keep it up! 🙌🏼
ASMR vibes at the end!
I was just in Joshua Tree and on my way home went through palm springs and stopped at a place called Chef Tanyas Kitchen. Its in a weird spot between some warehouses but it was amazing. They make all their seitan and meat-y stuff from scratch which is super cool. If you go back I strongly recommend it.
littlelion Chef Tanya’s Kitchen is amazing! She was the head chef that started the Native Foods recipes before she left then started chef Tanya’s kitchen. The first Native Foods is in Palm Springs too!
Yesss, I love this~ this video has such a peaceful vibe ^^ also I'm totally supporting the idea to watch earthlings with Liz :) I think that I good idea
omg you have epic dance moves . I loved it!
Get fries instead of rice at Del Taco!
That hat was made for you, Duncan
Its rice! No reason for it not to be vegan, right?! My local Del Taco swears the website is wrong and that their rice is vegan. So I don't know. Taco Bell's rice used to be vegan but now it's not. Even when you find a vegan option at a chain they often change things without notifying the public. And it's impossible to trust nonvegan employees to verify anything. You've probably eating many nonvegan things & just didn't know it:/ The only safe bets are whole foods & cooking for yourself & 100% vegan restaurants.
Taco Bell's rice is vegan. It wasn't vegan for a few months last year, but they changed the recipe again and removed the dairy.
Cassandra Bachrodt Well there they go changing again! lol Great news. I'll have to check my local franchise to make sure they're using new rice. Thanks for the heads up!
I found out that Subway offers a vegan patty. I went to my local shop & they said this region only buys the vegetarian ones. So I guess even franchises are not consistent.
peaches I kinda trust no one and ask to see the label on the box;)
Josie's Journey the max Patty is vegetarian...has milk :( never seen a vegan one.
7:05 "I'm gonna force myself to throw up now." cut to Duncan reading "What Makes Men Tick"
omfg i died at that part so sporadic and Duncan-esque
"I think we should watch Earthlings." Literally what I say to my family every time I go home lol
Glad you guys are enjoying the trip! Ordering fast food is so tricky and most of the employees have no idea what's in their food.
I don't know about the US, but shouldn't they always have a list of allergens ready? At least here in Germany that's mandatory.
Alexander Weber I worked in fast food and the answer is kinda. We have the list but it's in the managers book, only the manager, shift manager or a very trusted employee have it on hand. Honestly its better and faster to just look up the ingredients online on the company website
Those shots of the skyline at 9:50 and 10:00 looked absolutely amazing!
I resonate so much with the utensil set struggles... haha
Damn Liz looks hawt w that makeup 🔥🔥🔥
Love you guys ; )
The ending was hilarious. You should whisper all the voiceovers from now on
You crack me up! Thanks for making me laugh!!! :)
Loved the unexpected ASMR during this video hahaha
Holy shit that sunset!!!!! I gotta go there!
LMFAO, when you asked google for directions to the Palm Springs airport, my google voice responded as well.
Jess Same. Vegan For Life
At 6:19 when it cut to you wearing that hat and sunglasses I died laughing
Loved this one.
Looks like the Joshua Tree area has gotten much more veg-friendly since I was last there about five years ago. Other than a bean burrito at some Hunter S. Thompson-inpsired Gonzo burrito joint, I pretty much just had to eat what I brought.
omg, the whisper!
I think I've got a stomach full of hypocrisy! lol
Suit change was awesome like Superman lol 8:36
😂😂😂 great sunset & video!
Haha so interesting, this house. I liked this part 2 :)
Great video !
You're great!!!
#1 video, superb!!
It's not that the Del Taco burrito tasted non-vegan. It's that Duncan couldn't taste the compassion. :)
!!!!! I've been ordering a 8 layer burtio bold style which comes with fries inside! Since I've gone vegetarian :o I had no idea the rice wasn't vegan dang! Lol! They have a good secret sauce which is made from Chipotle try it out! You can also get tostada's with vegan topping
my grandparents live in yucca valley. this is cool
3 years ago my partner & i moved across the country like ~7 months into being vegan. We stopped at some Italian restaurant in the middle of nowhere & didn't think to ask if there was meat in the red sauce... we were so hungry that it took us halfway thru the meal to realize the little chunks in the sauce were meat UGH hahaha it was so unpleasant. it can be hard to be on top of double checking when you're ravenous
My Google Home gave me directions to the Palm Springs Airport when you asked your phone for directions. 🤣🤣🤣
How many people's Google homes gave them directions to Palm Springs Airport?
VEGAN ASMR AT 10:07
I fucking loved this.
I like that you said "I think you should watch Earthlings" ... :) :) :)
Hi guys!!! I caught you early!!! Lol. Love watching you and would like to request more cooking videos. I am just starting my vegan journey. I actually don't like the way meat tastes or the texture. I have always ate meat. I still like chicken sometimes. I wouldn't say I love veggies so I have been struggling. Lots of love to you guys!!!!
whattup Michelle and welcome!! We are doing fewer recipe videos this season but could maybe cook up something for you. Are there any veggies that you DO like? Have you seen Mary's Test Kitchen's recent video about crispy tofu chicken?
I have a lot still to try. I'm very intrigued by spaghetti squash. That is my next adventure to try. I don't really care for onion or peppers. Maybe you could suggest some cookbooks for me that won't break the bank? I love your videos no matter what you do. I find it all entertaining. Take us grocery shopping with you!!! I would like to see that. 😜
Michelle Forster Googling your favorite food in vegan version is the easiest and cheapest way to start :)
Or you could stop by the library to check out the vegan cookbooks and request ones that they don’t have but are interested in.
What I Eat in a Day videos also help. Check out Jessbeautician channel. She did a series on it and presents lots of amazing ideas :)
Congrats on going vegan! 💕 Thank you on behalf of the animals.
Spaghetti squash is so easy and you get tons of "noodles" from just one squash. You can even be super simple and just use a jar of Trader Joe's marinara and some basil ribbons and it's filling as hell but not in the collapse on the couch way. I find it fun to just follow my instincts and the colors. Recently I've been making a fair amount of recipes from the blog "It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken" and she uses minimal kitchen equipment/ingredients. She has a cookbook too. My boyfriend is easing into a plant based diet and he is greatly enjoying the meals.
Thank you all for the suggestions. So far I am not facing a lot of negativity but only a few people are in my circle. I expect some with outside family or co-workers. The ones that say its all in my head, or someone convinced me to think that way. That animals are here for us to eat. I have already heard some of it. What they don't realise is I don't care for the taste or texture anymore. If I stop eating animal products then I don't contribute to or condone how they are treated. I am also trying to eat better and lose weight. If I can get away from processed food I'm sure I will see a difference. Those are my goals right now. My youngest has been asking questions and I want to give him honest answers.
Always fun 🤗💗🌼
Wow, that blonde was so charismatic!...😁
I like how Duncan says "tasty" instead of "good" or "yummy" or "delicious". "Tasty" is good.
I recently found out that often times, restaurants add cream to their guac to keep it longer
Chipotle doesn't
Is it traditional to put raw chopped onions in burritos? I love onions in my burritos :)
Who would have thought the rice would have not been vegan, go figure!
Shanez Veganess™ I do... Always have. I prefer red onions though.
Me too, I love red onions :) even in my sandwiches ;)
You activated my Google Home lol
what?!?!?!?! the Rice at Del Taco isn't vegan????? Oh dear! Seriously?!! ugh.. thanks for the info... never thought to check the rice, i did the bean check! No more veggie bowls from there. how sad.
Seemeed like those people in that organics shop were like "who wants to know?" attitude
Nice!
I would suspect beans have lard. But not rice.
HAHAHHA THE WHISPERING.
You crack me up! XD
liz reminds me of paranormal activity
yoshiii jpn lmaooo why do you say that
SacredLove Space47 have you ever seen the original paranormal activity? her voice and demeanor are almost identical
Oh my amazing as per always and that "i dont feel so good" got me laughing out loud. Ive been there . ~~~~ try vegan everyone u will be amazed ♡ ~ ~~ 5 yr vegan here!
Just fyi, I love Liz
I'VE THE SAME WATER BOTTLE
Duncan, I tend to eat with eyes and I have to be honest with you, that vegan frittata looks like a cow patty. Glad it tasted good though ;-)
haha, yeah it looks like something I cooked as a kid when I mixed a bunch of random ingredients into a cupcake mold and stuck it in the oven. Tasted much better than that, fortunately
That is what I was thinking. It probably looks the same before eating it as it does after digesting it.
And then you kept using the word 'gushy' 😄😄😄😄
The rice at most Mexican food places isn't vegan :( I only realized after starting to cook it myself and I was like.... Why do all of these recipes ask for chicken stock and rendered lard o_O ignorance was bliss though lol
WHAT is the song you're having a tiki dance party too?!
pls
"Aqua De Beber" by Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66
I’m wondering if Duncan actually puked after eating the burrito? Because I once ate one and realized a few bites in it had ground beef in it 😷 and then forced myself to puke it up lol
I did not. Sorry for your trauma
asmr killed me xD
I'm vegan AND i like to rock climb, I could date both of you >.
Veganism is a connection that needs to be made. Shaming Liz is pointless. I will never shrink away from telling people I’m vegan but you high and mighty judging vegans embarrass me! Plus, you make it harder for me and the majority of down to earth sensible vegans to influence non vegans. Not only do I have to speak on behalf of the animals, I have to reframe their terrible view of vegans that you gave them. You are setting us back and I am beyond frustrated.
Exactly...has being shamed about not adhering to a particular religion ever made you more apt to believe in that religion? No, most of the time people are more turned off of it. Same with veganism. Shaming is actually damaging to the cause.
Traci G isn’t she pescatarian? That’s pretty damn close. The fact that she’s so open to eating vegan foods etc is amazing.
+ *Traci G* Totally hear you! I am very vocal about my veganism but don't use negative reinforcement in my vegan stance because I have never been shamed, berated, or coerced into doing the right thing permanently. This is the crux of the difficulty heavy-handed vegan pushing causes: The people that convert because of negative methods do so under duress and this means it's almost inevitable that they'll regress. The animals and the world cannot afford recidivism. We have to get it right, and encouraging people to freely choose this lifestyle is the way that works best for profound, permanent change of world view. Veganism is about playing the long game, rather than racking up quotas, and I wish more of the zealous, passionate vegans who look for quick returns understood this.
ConsciousThought Exactly my point, thanks for helping me bro! 🙌🏻🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
ConsciousThought I see you come from the Vegan Gains arena of thought. If we don’t do things your way, we are unconscious sheep. Government shills. Therefore you can speak in a degrading manner to us. In your mind we are lower than the animals you are helping. You do you bro, but stop deluding yourself. You are not awakened, you are not being edgy and vulgar for the animals, being vegan just gives you an outlet to be a dick for a cause.
But that ASMR tho....
I'm so tired of hating everything and judging everyone who loves mostly everything and resenting everyone's choices to live naturally without hurting others.. So tired of not appreciating everything we as a species have become. So tired of restricting myself and feeling bad if I don't. Not being vegan any more doesnt mean i will go and hurt a child or elderly person or steal money from a struggling mother or start a petition to neglect the needy nor will my not being vegan mean I bully animals. I just want to live in gratitude
I wonder how Taco Bell measures up with their so called vegan choices.
You can keep the vegan license, but you definitely lose man points for not knowing how to tie a tie haha
Their rice is not vegan
@7:35
I forgive you :-P
How in the world is rice not vegan 🤔
Lyndsay Vegan right... i was like did they cook it in beef soup or what lmao
This is the list of ingredients in Del Taco's rice - from their website. I'm not sure what part of it isn't vegan? Maybe the lecithin is animal derived?
Fresca Lime Rice: Water, Rice, Canola Oil, Vegetable Base (Salt, Dextrose, Dehydrated Potato, Shortening Powder (Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Partially Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Corn Syrup Solids, Sodium Caseinate, Mono And Diglycerides, Citric Acid), Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate, Natural Vegetable Flavor, Spices, Natural Vegetable Powder, Dehydrated Yeast (Yeast Extract, Partially Hydrogenated Cottonseed And Soybean Oils), Vegetable Shortening, Dehydrated Mushrooms, Oleoresin Turmeric, Oleoresin Paprika, Oleoresin Celery, Lecithin, Caramel Color), Onions, Salt, Garlic Powder
gotta have that casein in there
How many ingredients can you put into stupid rice?? That's insane!
i had to eat taco bell once on a school trip and i researched like 10 sites on my phone before ordering and i got a veggie delight no guac no sauce no cheese no nothing and still it came back gross af, with nonvegan rice (which i found out after) and im still mad lol
nothing in taco bell is vegan... like at all. its dumb
I find it ridiculous that the rice isn't vegan. What kind of fucked up things are they doing to the rice man?
First!
...just to say hi 😁👋🏾
hiii!
I always wanted to ask, do you think you can possibly do a video about the bad effects and the ethical reasons behind why we should not eat seafood? I’ve been on a vegan journey since last August, I’m not perfect yet but I’m slowly getting back on track, and at first I felt like a pescatarian diet was a good choice for me. After a while I realized I can’t do it because, one, my mind has already been conditioned to eat vegan primarily and, two, the look of seafood at times is repulsive. I’m wondering how many others are having an issue with seeing fish as beings just like land animals, i would love to see a video on this. Love you guys! ❤️
Jaz. Jaz. Bitesizevegan is an amazing channel about the ethics of veganism. She probably has a video on fish. If you search on UA-cam about it you'll find loads of videos on the topic. But bottom line, scientists have concluded that fish are sentient (can feel pain and can suffer) so it is immoral to cause them suffering when we dont need to. I understand why people find it harder to give up fish than suppose beef because cows are more similar to us and the pets we love like dogs- they are mammals, they are large animals, they look cuddly compared to fish etc. But, even though it's harder to relate to fish, they feel pain in the same way that cows pigs dogs and us do. Also, we have decimated the fish populations to such a degree that if we continue at this rate the oceans will be empty by 2048. If the oceans die, every other species on earth dies with them. We are all connected. Also, animal agriculture is causing ocean acidification which means the oceans are getting more acidic. This is causing ocean dead zones where there are areas of such low oxygen that no fish can survive. This increasingly acid environment is killing phytoplankton- the base of all life on earth. They are the bottom of the food chain and if they die everything else dies. So yeah long rant but if you watch loads of vegan documentaries and videos you will learn more. I have been vegan for over 2 years now but am still learning. By the way if you want some recipe ideas or other channels to watch here are some good ones: avant garde vegan, Simnett Nutrition and hot for food.
You’re awesome, thank you so much! Yeah I was looking into the fact that oceans being fishless by 2048 and also, in the Asian countries, they have to have fish imported to them because they don’t have a lot on their end, which is creepily alarming. I had no idea - I can totally relate ethically with land animals and I always had an issue with seafood, and now I’m trying to switch my thinking so I can stop believing that they don’t feel pain when I know, for sure, they do. I made vegan fish tacos a while back and did a UA-cam video about that and a few of my friends couldn’t believe that I actually did it lol but it tasted so good! The nori gave it a taste that was unbelievable and the beer batter heightened it for sure. I’m still totally a work in progress but thank you so darn much for that extra info, I’m always open to learning more! ❤️
Jaz. Jaz. Don't worry about it! That's great to hear. If you watch a tuna recipe Veganlovie has an incredible vegan tuna recipe made from TVP- I had it and it was delicious. A lot of vegan tuna recipes use chickpeas which is also good (edgy veg has a good recipe for that). What makes me think is that even though I dont exactly emotionally relate to fish, I know they use tools just like us and other animals (this was only found out recently) and are intelligent and it's sad to think that their homes are being destroyed (especially in coral reefs like the great barrier reef where coral bleaching is taking place- no one will mention the true cause though they will just say global warming. No one says what is actually causing global warming (if you search online Cowspiracy Facts there will be a page with loads of sourced facts on the effect of animal agriculture on the earth). Sorry for ranting it makes me happy hearing about people interested in veganism lol. Good day to you
The vegan police is coming for you . Yeah I called them .. what!
Duncan, Duncan, Duncan, if only other people learned from their seniors. I went vegan 3 years after I was married. My husband told me he totally got why and respected it. I never pushed it, thinking that someone had to want to go vegan on their own. Big mistake. You're gonna have to push it. If she hasn't watched Earthlings, it's time. Don't wait too long. If she can watch Earthlings, visit rescued dairy calves that were left on the dead pile, chickens with sever health problems due to being in the egg laying industry, and not go vegan then she's too stubborn for any hope and you'll never have the ultimate connection. My ex agreed to raise our daughter vegan but started buying her milkshakes and feeding her fish. I had to grit my teeth to not upset everyone and tried not to sweat the small stuff. But I was not happy with him and held resentments. After 15 years of him rolling his eyes when I talked about animal rights, which I rarely did to avoid that, we amicably split. Since, I've dated vegans and the connection is amazing. So, are you willing to have a limited connection with your partner or are you ok with being with someone who doesn't get it? Are you ok to argue about what your children will be fed?
I don’t know how you do that, lol. I’d date someone who wasn’t vegan before I got into a relationship, but if they didn’t at least try to inform themselves of something they choose to stay ignorant on/continue supporting violence if they already do know, and it continues over +1 year, I’d be like.. Nope. You have over/around two decades of conditioning, yes. But how do you sit there and act like this comedic to not want to make a valiant effort if your partner is partaking a non-harmful lifestyle? I’m very honest, sorry, but yeah. :/ This is just weird. How are you woke to something, and can stay with someone who refuses to even try to see it? I would lose my mind tbh.
ConsciousThought I wouldn’t go as far as not being with anyone who isn’t vegan, considering most of us were at a point where we were not yet vegan. But I would try helping them see why I’m vegan and see how they would react to it.
I think Duncan reaches more people with Liz than he would without her. Getting non-vegans to eat more vegan meals makes an impact. Getting vegans to eat vegan meals changes nothing because they would have done it anyway.
Wow that is sad :( And the way she tried conveying that veganism is equal to "just a hobby" and you can't force anyone to..stop wanting to fund violence because they enjoy it. How do you not like helping animals?
I feel the same. But it's very simple. He loves her.
Andrea Aldrich Definitely easy to love/fall in love with anyone. But a time comes where you ought to eventually question who your partner inside, as a vegan. As harsh as that sounds.
Trying to be open minded, but I am so over Liz’s mentality.
Kyla Ball yes!! Thank you :(
Then I guess it's a good thing you aren't the person married to her.
Lol yep that’s def not open minded
What happened for you to believe this?
Puhlease
