I have this exact dresser. It has a paper glued on the back dated 1920. It’s been in the family since then. I’m using it as is for my coffee bar. I agree with you it’s too pretty to paint
I find it somewhat comical when people come to a UA-cam channel about milk paint and are sad that a piece of furniture is being painted 😂 Just saying, perhaps you are a glutton for punishment.
That’s my thought on some of these painted pieces. Some I can understand, but others, like THIS one? I just don’t get it. I especially like the farmhouse style, but I don’t know that I could bear to ruin natural wood. Someone on another channel said that originally wood pieces were made to be painted, but I’ve always been around people who want to refinish wood to show natural grains Liked, only based on content and tutorial, but dislike ruining that pretty tiger looking drawers, lol
Can you do a blended finish with milk paint? If so then how do you do it because you generally need to use a lot of water to blend and using water on milk paint reactivates and causes it to chip, please advise
Would of been beautiful if she just painted the top and trim and legs and save the drawer fronts so beautiful . I love natural look too the color makes me think of a gray river rock would off been neat looking!,🐝
I've noticed a lot of people's videos of painting furniture with milk paint they leave the drawers in place. Do you not have to worry about drawers sticking like you do a traditional latex paint?
If I sand the piece first, do I still need to add the bonding agent? I have an antique buffet I've chalk painted and waxed, I'm guessing the milk paint would chip all off without sanding?
Crystal yeah, but you can use a primer before painting a piece. That helps to stop the wood of bleeding through. That‘s what I did with an oak chair...works pretty well.
Such a beautiful color I love all of the shades you created they are gorgeous!
Oh no :( that was such beautiful wood. Breaks my heart to see it get painted.
Im crying...that was so naturally beautiful :(

Oops that should have said 1902

As always looks gorgeous. I love your paint and will definitely be getting this new colour x
Oh my God, its a crime to paint such a incredible piece of furniture, a natural candidate for a hand rubbed Tung oil finish

Why are you painting the dresser with the drawers in? 😊
Love the color!

Tasha G. I wonder the same thing.
It actually looks pretty cool without paint. And I never say that LOL
Great video Marian!!
Thanks, Sue!
It’s beautiful just as it !!!

Can I use white over a darker color to get the two toned look? Thanks
Also can I use my annie sloan chalk paint brushes for this milk paint?
I get the feeling that, this woman goes to art galleries and dreams of covering all the paintings in "craft upgrades".
Kizron Kizronson ... 😂🤣😂🤣
Sanding pieces that you’re going to use CHALK paint on will most likely cause bleed through so sanding has its pros and cons.

Wonderful:-)
I wouldn’t have changed that one.
You don't paint quarter sawn white oak.
Well, I do if my client asks me to!
To much talking
This sickens me ruining and old vintage piece instead of restoring it to original condition!
Well, a lot of talk, and not much action.
It lost all of its character and depth from the paint :( this one was heartbreaking to watch
Urgh - all that lovely wood grain pattern, covered in boring paint.
Lousy ending…..like you never finished the video with the project completed??? Not great
Sorry about that! I have made other videos that show distressing, and different finishing options.
