    Sha’Cari has always mentioned that Flo-Jo is her role model and it shows in her body mechanics when she’s sprinting. Developing the core and hip flexor strength allows the athlete to achieve an effortless Bounce and high knee pick-up which allows you to relax because ‘Speed’ becomes a by-product in an Effortless manner, that’s why there is NEVER tension in her face but rather a Masterful display of perfect Theatrical sprinting style (just like Flo-Jo). It’s an Art form only made possible by super core strength and hip flexor strength. Flo-Jo eventually grasped that technique later in her career after listening to her husband Al Joyner who was echoing what Bob Kersey her coach had been telling her all along. Kudos to Sha’Cari. God continue to bless her (and her Jamaican sisters Shelly-Anne and Shericka who truly love and protect her) 💫 🙌🏾💎💎💎👑👑👑❤️🙏🏾

    That’s exactly the running style that Flo jo had towards the latter part of her career when she achieved her incredible times, she was virtually leaning backwards when she sprinted and flowed across the ground beautifully regardless of whether you think she may have used performance enhancers

      SHA’CARI’s role model is Flo-Jo. She mentions this all the time and you can see in the body mechanics that allows her to run with the high knee pick-up at the top end of her races……it demonstrates an amazing core strength and hip flexor strength. Once you work these body parts well it gives you a feeling of confidence and wanting to fly….just like Flo-Jo felt and did 👑💎💫❤️🙏🏾

    It is widely known in the Athletics fraternity that Flo-Jo’s Sprinting technique is the best to date, Male or Female (this is NOT about ‘Speed’ just pure technique made possible by extreme core strength and hip flexor strength & flexibility)
    Once you feel your core and hip flexors you ‘Relax’, you glide, you bounce and propel forwards with high knee pick-up rather than using brute force to generate speed which only slows you down at the top end because your otherwise weak core and hip flexors can’t sustain the speed. An athlete could have the best natural speed but if the core and hip flexors are not strong enough they drop their knee at the top end and end up leaning toward to try and reach the line quickly (but then fail)
    ❤️🙏🏾

      Nothing could be further from the truth, to believe or think it’s about technique is ridiculous! It’s as if the technique appeared out of nowhere and then she abandoned it to retire!! If it was so productive and better why not hang around for at least one more year and prove it!? If it was a Russian, East German or Chinese nobody would be interested or coming to her defense, but …she’s American so most lose their capacity to think objectively about it!!

      I really don’t know how old you are but if you lived around the time Flo-Jo set those records and was an avid fan of Athletics then and followed her career closely, you’d know exactly why she decided to retire!! It was the fact that she had come from nothing and had suddenly become her family’s provider. After setting those records, she was travelling a lot especially to Japan with business deals & promotions which were worth Millions of $$$ and she was committed to not failing these companies! She wasn’t getting the time to train whatsoever (her plan for 1989 was to improve her Start which she considered to be a weak spot and compete in the World Championships), so Al Joyner her husband advised her to suspend her athletics career and concentrate on her businesses because she would burn out and won’t be able to achieve maintain the same level of performance as in 1987/1988. She had nothing to prove, she was 29, married and her future financial security was established therefore the painful move to retire!!

    I'm a Shelly ann Fraser-Pryce fan but I have to say congratulations to Sha' carri with my whole heart. She was very talent but with some success she eventually became caught up in popularity and lost focus and went down in performance not fulfilling the potential everyone knew she had. She eventually caught herself and realized the road she was going down would eventually just destroy her career and once people think she just an empty vessel she would soon become unpopular and unmarketbale and so she changed direction.

    • @TheRebellefleur27
      @TheRebellefleur27 9 місяців тому +2

      There was a culmination of things I believe. However, I wouldn't agree with her being caught up in the popularity. She has had immense popularity and haters since Carter high school and has had to deal with negativity, even from her teammates at LSU. She has always been outspoken and the center of attention because of the athlete she is. From her before line celebrations to her confidence to her attitude to her records; that is all Sha'Carri. When she turned pro, it was a similar cycle of adversity, but now magnified because of the losses in her personal life and hate on a global scale. Sha'Carri whether liked or disliked would never have been unpopular or an empty vessel. Those are your words and that isn't the reason she changed direction. The very opposite of that is what she attributes to her new focus.

During the previous two years, she encountered challenges in harnessing her complete bodily mechanics to achieve swifter running speeds, attributed to her mental struggles. This stands as compelling evidence underscoring the vital role of the mind and its harmony with the body.

    Ms Richardson has focused and have shown more consistency during 2023 resulting in her win of the 100 meters and should be acknowledged and congratulated. However in evaluating the sprint data, It is clear that 36 year old Fraser was not fit and could do better times having only run a few races this year. Elaine Herah has ran 10.54 that is much lower than 10.65 and Jackson has also ran 10.65 and is not a 100 meter specialist. Consequently, more performance data is needed over time to see patterns before making Richardson the best or fastest runner. This will be revealed indeed over time if this is indeed so.

That said, her 10.65 is her PB, and Flo Jo's 10.49 was probably somewhat wind-aided, and in my Opinion, Flo Jo, and Elaine Thompson Herrah share the 100m World Record at 10.54. So is it possible to beat 10.49? Sure it is, but is it gonna take an amazing commitment to training? Yes. Even further out is Flo Jo's 200M record of 21.34 Shericka Jackson, beat everyone at World's by .4 which is a big margin, but was still .1 behind Flo Jo's Record. Her top end speed is unmatchable (in my opinion) but I'm not sure if she's strong enough to keep the lead, as Gabby Thomas proved she is EXTREMELY strong until the end. As with Sherika Jackson is also extremely strong until the end. Still, I think Sha'Carri can beat them IF she keeps her strength until the end. THIS is going to be GOOD GOOD! Let's NOT attempt to set her up for failure though. World Record? NO

      Maybe not world record this time BUT if Sha Carri cannot it, good luck to the others!!!! My money is still betted on Sha Carri. Reason -- Thomas and Jacko can be soooo fugging unreliable...one race good, next race like shit

    I donot think that Shericka will make the same mistake in the 200m as she did in the 100, Ms. Richardson will have to be at her best to beat her and let us not forget Gabby Thomas with only 2 rounds in her legs

    Is sprinting body mechanics determined by inherent body construction or developed through training? I believe it's primarily influenced by one's natural disposition, with training serving to enhance those characteristics. After all, certain individuals might never achieve high-speed running abilities, regardless of how rigorous their training efforts may be. I don't think it's because Sha'Carri "mastered" a proper running style per se; I think she simply runs, and her body mechanics seems naturally suited for speed. Her remarkable facial relaxation adds to this.

      Why can it be both? You can be physically gifted, but if you execute with poor technique you'll never achieve maximum performance.
