Reminds me of my teenage days when I used to hang around the local race track guys.
I love the ROARING Engines... gotta love them!
This is a fun movie that makes me think of simpler times when we'd go along with an impossible plot just for the entertainment.
"Hmm, wonder why someone would kidnap a girl from the track?" Grab another beer, don't call the cops.

All I can say is thank you very much for downloading this movie to UA-cam it was very good I enjoyed it very much being the big Nascar fan that I am I never heard of this movie before and now I need to find it to add it to my NASCAR movies collection

This is a very underrated movie... it's criminally underrated, This needs a Blu Ray release, Please MGM, Please! (Besides, this upload was the syndication cut on This, not to mention, it said WPHL on the bottom of the screen, which means that this airing was recorded in my hometown market, The Philadelphia/South Jersey/North Delaware market

Worth a look just for the vintage Busch Grand National footage. The early Ventura with the late nose is fun too. Looks like the shop scenes with Kennedy were filmed inside the DiGard shops (logo on door).
Dang David Pearson does a cameo too.
IMDB has almost nothing on this one.
This makes Stroker Ace look like a 50 million dollar movie!

@@turbotorana4336 He doesn't know what a NASCAR spec V8 is supposed to have. There are no turbos, and cars rev at a high limit because they use a manual transmission with a special exhaust pipe configuration.

They are polishing the the ports !..removing metal ,there is nothing wrong with that ,I use a air power tool to do the same job ,much more aggressivel .You leave the old seats in while doing the job ,then replace with new one's when finished .

See why this one's a B list, and Days of Thunder an A. George Kennedy over-acting to try to put some life into it..but he weren't looking too good hisself. Like, minimal racing-those shitty 80s cars-and fights and drama. What a dud, like a Ford Pinto, eh?

Dale kind of look like Burt Reynolds in his young age of the 40s or 30s.
Well let's see this movie was a interesting look at nascar lower series with the basic plot of good guys v.s. bad guys who do anything to win the race and little romantic sub plot to keep you busy for rest of run time so to top it of with the case of cheaters who get really nothing but misfortune for there evil doings.

changing the engine would have made him start dead last. not a bad movie, good work putting it on youtube but a pretty typical hollywood sports movie overall. I could just listen to stockers run the way some listen to the ocean to relax so it doesn't take a lot to make me happy with something like this.
I grew up two blocks away from the "highest banked short track oval in the pacific northwest", I'd fall asleep to that sound in the 60s and early 70s, some dream of long walks in the sand and the smell of the sea, some dream of the sound of stock cars and the smell of burning rubber the same way. Instead of a swing set in the yard my fathers '55 Chev superstock sat out back for me to play on. I've seen this movie a couple times now and you're right, not overly authentic but it does sound pretty :) Someone needs to make one of those long youtube videos of it, not the new sound but classic!
Interestingly enough, there is some weird cuts in the audio, which is pretty annoying.
It's very "days of thunder" ish tho.
