Not a problem. This seems to be an alarmingly common problem. One guy almost got flattened by a trunk he was lifting when the hydraulic detent broke and the lift went all the way up. Only the guy's steering wheel stopped the wood. It looks like JD would do a recall. Take care and stay safe.
There seems to be a design flaw, but John Deere had steadfastly refused to correct it. One guy that it happened to was raising part of a tree trunk, and when the spring popped the end off, the lift came all the way up and rolled the trunk down the arms of the loader. The only think that kept the guy from being crushed was the steering wheel, which the trunk demolished, but it kept the trunk from hitting the guy. The guy tried to get JD to correct the problem (they ended up, I believe, having to replace his tractor which was severely damaged by the trunk), but JD didn't seem too concerned about it, from what the guy told me. JD could have serious trouble is someone is injured or killed because they won't fix this and do a recall.
I was using the lift normally (you know, pull the lever, it goes up, push the lever, it goes down, that kind of thing) and IT BROKE. Nothing special. That good enough for you? I have an old phone video camera with no stand. I am not trying to be Paramount productions. If you get something from it, then fine. If you don't, that is fine as well. I am not looking for "thumbs up" or advertising or any of that garbage. Just sharing info. If it helps, great. If not, have a great day.
Thank you for video
