    Hey guys , nice video and way to adapt. Different tactics for every body of water. It's cool you got to fish with your dad. Thanks for sharing. Kurt

    That’s cool, I’m going speckled trout/brook trout fishing in a couple days, and want to bobber fish when I smoke my pipe, and prefer artificials to live worms, boring. So I’ll try flies under a slip float, same idea. I googled to see if others did it, cheers.

    @the fly dudes looked like a great day on the water. Can you explain the float slip setup you were using I’m thinking that could be great for some deeper water I am thinking about targeting. Thanks.

      fishingkevin yeah it’s just a quick release indicator that’s ran on strait 10lb p-line flouro, and then has a swivel tied off between the 10lb and the tippet!

    Size 14 midge?? Where I fish the largest midge (diptera) is size 20, usually much smaller. You sure you are not imitating caddis pupa?

    • @TheFlyDudes
      @TheFlyDudes  4 роки тому +3

      Frederick Smith they’re definitely chironomids! They actually were closer to 12’s and even size 10 in this lake. The differ by body of water and geography, but they’re all in the same family!

    BTW you're using the pump wrong. The way you're doing it can injure the fish. You don't want to squirt water into the fish. You need to put it in squeezed tight, then let go and the bugs in the throat get drawn in.

      Or.. don’t use them at all. A study in the 90’s found that fishermen tend to collapse the stomach’s of the fish and the fish eventually die from it. Many fishermen moved to trying to only pump the throat, but it’s not much different. I’m sad to see that they are making a resurgence.

    the "top" hook? what's with that? this in the US or something? more than one hook? lame...tons of misses cuz they are all pinners

    Bro, can't see the stomach contents if you don't hold the camera still for a second

    Stomach pumps are stupid and terrible for fish especially if not used correctly. If you are catching fish and getting bites with the flies you're using,what the hell you need to check for? If you're that damn curious keep a fish for dinner and study its innards instead of pumping fish and throwing em back. Otherwise great video but plz stop using those stupid pumps

      @@TheFlyDudes that's your only response? That's pretty pathetic. You kill fish to eat,not fuck up their stomach and throw em back. I was trying to give a little advise and still praised your video but if you're going to be that way about it your a punk

      @@TheFlyDudes you just put it in their throat not thier stomach just like Brian Chan does very simple and safe for the fish. I suspect they just said stomach instead of throat.
