Just depends on the trails. I rarely run into hikers on raccoon mountain. However, white oak mountain I'll run into a couple groups but out here stringers ridge is the WORST for having other groups on the trail. Part of why you wont see many videos or riding from me at Stringers Ridge. Just WAAAAY too many people you're trying to avoid. Where do you ride ?
Raccoon is kinda in the middle of town though right? I live in Phoenix and we have lots of mountain ranges in town and they're all busy unless it's one with a fee lol. I'm wanting to move somewhere smaller and greener.
@@Digital_Gangster haha! raccoon mountain is about a 7-10 min drive from downtown chattanooga. Stringers ridge that I mentioned thats always busy you could walk to from your downtown apartment. The thing with chattanooga and the surrounding area is that there are SOOOO many places to hike that some of these places designed for mountain biking aren't too populated with hikers. We have about 100 miles of single track within a 45 min drive of downtown chattanooga but probably double that of trail for hiking only.
@@Digital_Gangster hahaha! thats awesome though to have so many trails! I know you mentioned you're in phoenix but I'm hoping to make it out to Moab sometime next year. My brother in law lives in california and planing to make a trip out there together. If you want green, and enjoy the outdoors, chattanooga is a great spot! Got a bike park getting built right now too - scheduled to be open fall of 2021
@@notachance8887 - oh yea... I am surprised I got as much out of them as I did without dying. lol Shortly after this video I was able to finally upgrade my forks to the Rockshox 30 Gold. Was able to up my travel by 20mm and use air instead of the coils for the suspension. They make such a big difference!
nice dude, glad you finally made it. a few friends of mine and l ride from that spot at the parking lot to the boat ramps at the bottom. Gnarly ride. So fun. So FAST!
JDMTB it was a lot of fun. Livewire 2 kicked my butt though.. we should get out there and session Chunky! I could spend the whole time playing there. I also need to check out high voltage though.
I'm all about chunky, man. There are a few drops I want to hit that freaked me out last time. The first big drop you come to I can do no problem,. but some of the other ones further back, they are sketch ball city, dude. The run ups alone weird me out.
Griscuits - no it’s not normal. It could be a series of issues. Bent derailleur hanger, the gears could not be indexed correctly or your cassette has damaged teeth. I would recommend taking it to a local bike shop and having someone take a look.
great job on some of those chunky lines!
Thanks! 🤘🏼
Great video! That place looks awesome!
Thanks! It's a great place to ride
Is there not many hikers in Chattanooga? I didn't see any in the video. On a comparable run here there would have been probably 10-20 groups of hikers

Man we have 1,000+ miles of MTB trails within 45 minutes of downtown, but too many damn people lol

You were a brave man taking those drops with the XCT forks
Sounds like they were dead by the time you dropped into Livewire. You can hear them clunking around lol

@@MTBTrailRider I recently went from coil to air as well. So much nicer when you can dial the suspension exactly in for your weight.
Skills over springs.

JDMTB hahaha! I understand completely
i just bought a GT aggressor pro just like that and i noticed that it clicks a bit on gears 4 and 5. is that normal? (not that i use them)

White oak mountain is better than this now >:)
Nathanael Graham - especially with the new jump line they built!
