hey gamers, thanks for watching the video - i know it's a bit different than usual but i hope you enjoyed this mix of informative with opinionated nonetheless. sorry for the sorta-clickbait but hard core fans will know that this isn't *technically* every single sega collection ever, but if it was, we'd be here literally all day. just decided to talk about the important, more interesting releases, but if i left something out you really like/got any information wrong, be nice and leave a comment :P thanks again for watching, and hope to see you next time
Classic collections like this are so, so important, and I'm glad to see them getting more spotlight as of late. I do wish Sega would pay a bit more love forward to their Saturn and Dreamcast titles, especially with how many have never been rereleased and have prices climbing into the stratosphere, but I still respect the fact that they're so prevalent in keeping the classics that they do on store shelves. That's certainly more than I can say for some publishers. *glares at Bandai Namco and the mountain of Tales games that have never been ported*
Sega has a butt load of games that haven't been rereleased and so far I would love to own some of these games like Sakura Wars. One of my main goals is to own a Sega Dreamcast I just need to save up and I'm hoping I'll have it and the physical copies of Sonic adventure games, Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia etc. Also I'll never forget playing Sonic Mega Collection for the first time it felt like traveling back in time into the 1990s
The Smash Pack on Dreamcast introduced my friends and I to Genesis classics. We loved it and were fine with the sound because we knew no different. I am nostalgic for the sound of those emulated games on that pack.
Don't worry about the Sega Smash Pack versions of Sega Swirl and Virtua Cop 2 as they are both pretty much perfect, in fact this version of Virtua Cop 2 is even better than the Saturn version. This can be attributed to the fact that VC2 was ported rather an emulated like the other games, and Sega Swirl was always developed for the Dreamcast making this version as good as any other.
oh that's good to hear, i think i'll give them a whirl then. the genesis games left awful impressions lmao but it looks like this is the only way i'll be able to play vc2 anyway haha
Sonic Mega Collection on the GameCube was absolutely my gateway into the Sonic series. I would boot up the Comic museum just to listen to the music and look at the cover art. Surprised I never got into Archie cuz of it, probably because there was never a comic store nearby. I remember shopping at Walmart as a kid, and spotting Sonic Gems. I begged my aunt who I was with, and she bought it for me. I was addicted to unlocking everything in the museum, especially the music. Man I love these collections so much, I wouldn't be the Sonic fan I am today without them
Imagining a time were we no longer get to play older game's,is kinda horrifying. I may get two collections someday, probably will feel nostalgic even though I never played them.
Yeah, I'll definitely be looking into more of M2's work when i get a switch. As well as finally getting Origins, those additions sound sweet. But overall, definitely wishing for more Dreamcast, arcade and especially Saturn stuff. Emulation will feed me for now though, having a blast with Crazy Taxi 2 and Samba de Amigo as we speak lol
What I would give for a Sonic R rerelease, that game is great if you take a second to wander the map and figure out what’s going on. And no matter how bad it feels that soundtrack makes it impossible to have a bad time. Great video!
11:45 This song actually reminds me a lot of the main menu theme from Tomb Raider 2. Instantly hit me with nostalgia! It interesting, I could be wrong but some of the artwork on this collection looks like the character designs from Sonic Advance O.o Edit: No, that definitely was, considering Cream was there too and she debuted in Advance 2, right?
Is Sonic 2, 3&K, or Mania your favorite Sonic game? I'm razor close between 3&K and Mania, and different past videos of yours seem to themselves vary on which one you call the best of them all. So I'm wondering what you settled to, as well as who takes the second best spot.
Sega is great with rereleases especially their Mega Drive titles but I would like to see some love to the Saturn & Dreamcast. I'll be down for both minis or collections for those 2. I own the Sega Ages version of Virtua Racing, Phantasy Star & recently Shinobi & Outrun. I'm loving Outrun this time around. ^_^
it's a great game! would love it if outrun 2 got re-released because i think it's even better, but i'd be down to wait if that meant more saturn re-releases
If you do try the series, Ichidant is the most accessible, but has the least amount of content (though it's got a really cool 4 player mode). If you can, I recommend its sequel Tant-r, which you can play on the Sega Classics Collection (ps2) bundled with Bonanza Bros.
M2's Sonic 2 is an absolute joke. They promised a Hidden Palace Zone like the Christian Whitehead version they also proclaim the other deleted levels, but they 110% failed to deliver. They didn't even bother of adding the Mega-Tech/Mega Play version of Sonic 2, like they have done with Sonic 1. So yeah go get origins.
even though they didn't add the cut content, i still had as much fun as ever and the hd rumble made it so enjoyable. would've loved the mega-tech version of sonic 2 though :/

I tried re-joining the Discord server through the link in the description (as I somehow lost access), but the link isn't working for me.
@@TheIvoryDingo server's been deleted, sorry
@@ZaffreRevolution Ah. That's unfortunate.
Are you making some videos about Gunvolt 3 and luminous avenger ix 2?
I think I've finally figured out something key about you Zaffre:.... You like Sega

I remember my first Sonic collection was on the PC, some red labeled disc. Hated R, but loved CD and Knuckles being in 2 and 3.

yup! it was around the time those games were coming out so it was to promote them

Pretty good video. You do a decent job of flowing from each collection and such. Just curious, why exactly did you delete ther server?
glad you like the video but i don't want to get into that stuff here
